View 7 RepliesI'm trying to write a simple javascript and am having some difficulties. The purpose of the script is to send an xml document to the service. The response is not important.
I'm getting this error: "HTTP Is Not Defined"

I have this function:
Code:
function startAnimation() {
lastVertex = 0;
k=0;
i = 0;

but if you click the button again, the original function continues working while the second one executes.Is there some way that that button click can say "stop the first one and start the next one"?
When you click on the link to a web site, close the app, then open the app again, it displays the web site instead of the app. How do you get back to the app?

I have been able to have a series of images fade in and out with the following Jquery code:
$(function(){
$('.fadein img:gt(0)').hide();
setInterval(function(){
$('.fadein :first-child')
[Code]....
However, I want to add two buttons: Stop and Resume. I would think that interval needs to be stopped and restarted, but I do not know where or how to add that.
i have an animated gif (a circle being filled) as a slidebullet for the active slide. It works just fine when u dont touch the controlls, but if i click another bullet it does not restart the gif animation when switching to the gif on that bullet, so it looks really cheap.. Is there a jQuery (or another) way of restarting the animation from the beginning when manually switching bullet/slide?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know it there is a more or less universal way to stop and restart a running script. I'm not a programmer but like to use rotating banner or slideshow scripts on my sites. I've had some complaints from visitors about not being able to stop the slideshow/rotation action. Is there a script function I can use in conjunction with some start/stop buttons in the body of a webpage?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a function, something like this:
function temp(){

.error(function() { alert("error"); })

I've got a slideshow which has animated gifs in it. But the timing goes out after a few slides. I need to find out how to get each gif to restart when it is shown but without having to re download the image each time. The website address is below, the slide show is just below the body text.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a javascript animation built with animate(). Whenever the page is reloaded, it is playing correctly, the problem is when the user navigates away from that page and the presses the Back button to go back to the previous page with the animation. The animation does not play again, it just shows the last state (probably because it's cached/in history?). Is there any way to restart the animation after the user presses the Back button?

What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
Another thing that has been driving me crazy is that css positioning is handled differently by different browsers. JS is not my area, but I can do a lot with CSS, and I do, but cross browser compatibility is killing me.
I can use an IF IE statement and only IE runs that segment of code, but I haven't been able to figure out out how to make ONLY firefox or ONLY opera or safari enact an encapsulated segment of code. The same type of IF statement doesn't work for them.
Is there a single method using JS that works for all browsers?
Im putting together a pair of countdown timers that need to restart every 24 hours. One restarts at noon and the other at midnight. Im using Keith Woods plugin @ [URL]
So far I have been able to implement his serverTime function to sync to the servers clock and instantiated 2 countdown timers. so far so good.
What I need to do now is 2 things:
1. I need to define today + X hours to countdown to instead of setting a exact date like in this example:
var noonCountDown = new Date();
noonCountDown = new Date(noonCountDown.getFullYear() + 0, 5 - 1, 28, -12);// 2011, May, 28, 12pm
2. Once today is defined dynamically I believe that may just solve the problem and reset the timer. But I may not be thinking clearly here. So I guess Im just wondering if this is how you would go about making the countdown restart upon completion.
Here is my code that Ive got so far:
$(function () {
function serverTime() {
var time = null;
$.ajax({url: 'http://www.localhost.com/projects/countdown/servertime.php',
[Code].....
I know this code works just fine:
function result(){
var result = document.getElementById('resss').innerHTML;
}
But what I actually want is to import data from a table of an external website. E.g. I want to get the innerHTML of a specific cell in column 3 and row 2 of a specific site.
I have a web service at this url [url]..
i use hotel search file with HotelSearch method and method will retrieve xml file contains the matched data.
the varialbe that i made post with it is named : HotelData
the data of the variable is a string file that contains an xml data like this[code]...
I want to access a web service and get the response in json using javascript. The web services can respond in json and gives me a table of records with a specific campus. I input the campus code in the text box and create the url. Now, I want to get the response in json and I'm really stuck.
<FORM NAME="myform" ACTION="" METHOD="GET">Enter something in the box: <BR>
<INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="inputbox" VALUE=""><P>
<INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="button" Value="Click" onClick="loadurl(this.form)">
</FORM>
[Code]....
From the information search process: I know I have to change the HTTP Header accept and use application/json and probably use JSONRequest.get()
Code attached, the bb code dosen't let my code post.

I'm playing with a greasemonkey script and would like to provide geo-locating. The geolocation services I've found all require dev/api-key. A dev-key means I reveal my well-earned key, or an api-key usually means a server address... there would be none via a greasemonkey script.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am developing an ASP.NET web application that requires the use of
remote calls going on behind the client's page in the browser. I
successfully got the service working via SOAP (I have to use SOAP due
to the fact that I need this to be compatible with Netscape 7.0).
However, there is a memory leak in Netscape using SOAP calls, and I
can't figure out why. So I thought that accessing the web service with
HTTP-POST or some other javascript method might alleviate this problem.
Can anyone show me another method, or tell me what is wrong with my
SOAP calls?

I'm getting some strange behaviour when calling my test WebService. I get the expected response when testing with IE7 & 8, however with both Chrome and Firefox I'm getting a 403 error.
The Service is called via
Code:
if(window.jQuery)
{
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url:
[Code]...
The service and test web site are both running from the same domain (a local webserver) with the service on port 7000 and the test client running from port 80. Does anyone have any idea why this service might be responding correctly to IE and not Chorme?
I'm trying to figure out the best way to use a PUT request to upload a file to a service. I've done some research on doing this with regular javascript and jquery.
I see that jQuery has support for PUT in the $.ajax method
The type of request to make ("POST" or "GET"), default is "GET". Note: Other HTTP request methods, such as PUT and DELETE, can also be used here, but they are not supported by all browsers.
However, I'm worried about the mention of browser compatibility. Does anyone know exactly what browsers do not support the PUT type for this $.ajax function? Its important that it work in IE6-9.
while login i am getting username & password.
if it is correct then i want to enable printer service.
my system having printer connection. how to disable this & enable this

Is it possible in javascript?
