On Submit - Change Details In A Field ?

I have configured my first ever js and to be honest. I can just about read it let alone understand how to fix the error. Basically I want to change details in a field, on pressing the enter key submit the form but so a confirmation dialog before the form actually submits. If all is good submit the actual form.

Now to issue I'm having. Which is the form is updating like it should be but the confirmation box is not appearing. Its just going straight through.

I'm looking to make a form that could potentially span over several steps (or pages) and have the details submitted to an email address. How can I split the form into multiple steps, so step 1 includes 5 questions, click next, then step 2 includes the next 5 questions, then on submit it emails the details (from both step 1 & 2) to a specific email address in one email?
If anyone could point me in the right direction or give me a hand that would be great. I've spent ages looking for some answers.

I have a page here [URL]. You can select a value from the dropdown list and you will get a list of configurations with the word "Select". If you click on the "Select" word you will get a pop-up value with a list of checkboxes. So what I want is that once they click on the checkbox the window will close and update the "Select" with the revelant "Tyre Serial No". How to achieve the updates? I also want to limit the pop-up window to only at any one time.

and thats my problem: if you click on a link (going to info.html) in the textbox ".details" and go back (via the back button in your browser) it doesnt hide the ".details"-box. how can i hide my ".details" everytime the page is loaded, even by the backbutton?

I'm displaying information, but I'm trying to figure out how to create a button that says "change details" and in the exact place of the displayed information, there will be input fields where you can change details
ex:
Color : Blue
Size : Large
(link or button for change detail here)if you click on the link or button to change the detail, those static texts will change into drop down selection forms. I was wondering how to do that?

On an HTML page with 2x different forms, how can I redisplay the same
page after a submit, restoring the values from BOTH forms even though
only one was submitted?
I have an existing PHP program that I am modifying, and need to
redisplay the same page after a submit (the button that submits is a
"change shipping" button, that allows the user to continue with the
rest of the page). The problem is that there are TWO forms - the one
that allows you to change shipping, and the other where the user can
fill in the billing address. Making this into one form is not really an
option, due to how the program is set up.
Since they are 2 different forms, submitting the "change shipping" form
does NOT bring the billing address fields to my PHP code in the POST.
This makes restore difficult.
I have a couple of kludgy ideas on how to work around this (mostly
javascript based - e.g. setting hidden fields in the "change shipping"
form when the user is changing the billing fields). However, I was
wondering if there were any other easy solution to acheive this.

I am trying to take a form input field and take what was entered and grab the first 8 character of what was entered and then submit that to a form instead of what was entered.

I've been trying to figure out with a search box I've added how it can submit by pressing the 'enter' key rather than just clicking a 'submit' button beside a form. I've tried onkeypress but as soon as you press one button the field submits. I've also seen you can do with keycode==13 but I'm not sure how to add it into my code.

a user types in his email, and clicks submit he is then taken to the thank you page. he clicks back and his email is still there.
I want the email not to be there. I can change the value of the text field onload but this doesnt work when you click back only when the page is reloaded. i can change the value on submit but this is wrong because then the wrong value is submitted.

I have a search interface that I'm building that uses radio buttons, jump menus and a keyword search text box.
Is there a way to have a little "go" button next to the text field that will submit just the search string in the text box to my searchresults.php page?
Right now, any submit button I put within the page submits all parameters from my radio buttons and jump menus in addition to the keyword values. I would like the keyword entry box information only to be used if there are any values in it and have any other variables (e.g. from the radio buttons) to be null so I don't get a search with keywords AND radiobutton values. Of course, if nobody clicks the radiobuttons, no problem, no values are passed, but I'm sure some pesky user will have some checked and then decide to do a keyword search...
I'd rather send the info to the same PHP results page, so I don't want other values to muddle up the keyword results. I'm sure I could erase the other values with an 'if keywords=anything then other variables are null' statement, but I want the user to think they're only submitting the keywords from the entire page (which is what a 'go' button next to the field would imply) and I thought there might be a simple way.

Is there a way to access a forms details by sending its parameters to a
function. For example, I have a form named "myForm" populated by a drop down box, so that <select name="mySel">
I am trying to send the form and drop down box name to a javascript
function, eg onChange="update( "myForm", "mySel") so that, within the Javascript update(formName, selName) function I can access the forms doing something like this:
update(formName, selName)
{
selected_index = document.forms.formName.selectedIndex;
selected_value = document.forms.formName.selName[selectedIndex];
}
so that I can access the specified value using the input arguments to
the function, rather than doing
selected_index = document.forms.myForm.selectedIndex;
selected_value = document.forms.myFormn.mySel[selectedIndex];
The reason for this is because I have a lot of drop box boxes that are
changed by the user.

I have created a ChatBot in JavaScript which allows people to type text into a text-box, such as "hello" or "what is the time" and the ChatBot responds back with a response on a seperate WebPage such as: "The time should be indicated on your computer" etc.Is there anyway that I can get the ChatBot to remember specific details about people that they enter into the textbox using JavaScript, such as their name or age, etc?So that then on a random WebPage on the same server, I can get it to display that stored name or age that the user stated to it.If someone has a code that could possibly do this, I'm sure I could find a way to work with it.And also, something else which I would also love as an alternative otherwise; How do I get JavaScript to display the current Microsoft Windows user account name.I would appreciate any help that people have to offer, and respect anyone who gives it and have concluded this to be the best site to get help on so far. I have 2 frames. In left panel i have a hyper link. Whenever i click on hyper link (on the left panel) of the page should open in right panel of the frame.Here is the frame code.

I thought this would have been fairly simple but it appears the onchange event isn't triggered when a hidden field is populated by other javascript without user input.
I have a simple search box and autocomplete/suggestion ajax thingie going on.
What I want to do is have my "Go" submit button disbled until AFTER a user has populated the hidden field "cid". A user populates this field automatically when they click on a suggested option from the ajax autocomplete doofer.
Here's what I've tried at the moment but failed on.

but defaults to a view of "large icons." Is there

Basically, at the moment I have 2 fields, the billing address and the shipping address.How it works at the moment is that when the user clicks the checkbox, then the details are copied across.I don't want this, basically I want it so IF the checkbox is ALREADY checked, then dynamically copy across the details, whether its on an onKeyUp or whatever.Code is below .
