This of course print each word on a new line in the browser. The problem is when the user copies and pastes the text, it appears as one long string of text with no breaks. Now consider the following script:
Lots on the web about this, but finding it difficult to piece everything together.I have a simple (jquery) RTE I've built using usual tools (IFRAME with execcommand functions).I want to be able to strip all html tags from anything copied and pasted into the iframe (specifically to remove the residual junk from MS word).I have this to capture the paste event (which works)
MY question is this: How do I target the pasted copy (only) and strip out the tags?I was previously doing this with PHP on submitting the page, but can't do that as I obviously want to keep the valid html tags added by the RTE itself - I changed the PHP to just remove <span> tags - but this is no good as some browsers write execcommand(bold) as <span class="bold">text</span>.
Here's what I have so far, which handles characters as they're typed in. Could someone please show me how I would loop through all the values that are entered if a block of text was pasted in, and then grab the ascii value(s) that are > 128?: Code:
everything that is being returned is running together. I need it to run on separate lines. I can't control it with box width because the entries will vary on each occasion. I assume there is an escape character like in php or a break tag like in HTML, but I don't know what it is!
i am looking for a tutorial or example file i can download that features the following mouseover effect: [URL] i have tried googling for tutorials and have tried to view source on the above page but when pasted into dreamweaver i cannot seem to get the effect to work.
only have test one browser - Mozilla - but have the impression, that newlines when setting innerHTML doesn't go down very well with the browser. Is this sufficient for causing a hard crash or at least an exception? Can anyone verify that? (Just a guess now at the moment)
I am trying to retrieved the value of the textarea with the newline preserved without having to submit the form to the server. Does anyone knows how to? I tried soft and hard wrap but both does not seems to affect the input in anyway.
In textareas or input textboxes, when you dynamically add ' ' to the textbox's value, is it automatically converted to ' '? If it does, in what browsers does this happen? Firefox (and other Geckos)? Opera? Konqueror?
I am trying to create a chrome extension that can pass text from a text box to a webpage text box. Basically my company has an intranet site where you can search for an employee. The url does not display the search terms so i cant just append to it. Since I cant really work on this outside of work (its an intranet site) i have tried replicating it from home using the let me google that for you (www.lmgtfy.com) site.
I have a form with 9 text fields and a text area. What I want to do is replace the text in the text area depending on how many fields contain text. For example my text boxes are named 1 to 9, if the user enters text in the first five boxes I want the text area to auto fill with 'you have selected boxes 1 to 5' if the user selects all nine it will say 'you have selected 1 to 9', therefore, the user must complete the text boxes in order. I have it working with an onchange event but i have a button on the form to also auto fill the text boxes and it does not work if this is clicked
As of right now I have a code that will work in IE but wont work in FireFox...go figure. Basically what I want to have happen is when you type in an area code it will provide an output in a predetermined area of the page.
For Example: Input- 512 Output - Austin, TX
The code that I have doesn't work with firefox and I was just wondering if there was a code that would allow that to happen.
Would u pls let me know whether the following is possible or not: User can be able to insert text on a text-box or text-area(form) as usually we use text-area to do so. But I want to put some readonly text using an open and close tag
for example: <ro>This is readonly text</ro>insert your text here Can I be able to make the text inside <ro>..</ro> tag readonly, it means user can't be able to modify or delete this readonly text. readonly text length not fixed. only way to recognize the readonly text is the <ro> tag.
