View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a news ticker in my site, which is using prototype. It works good in all browsers, but the problem is while loading the news ticker content is rendering outside the div.
Is there any ways to hide the content while loading or any other ideas to prevent it loading outside the div.
how to change basic settings etc.But I have a problem changing the height of the following "news-ticker"
[URL]
You can see that I have different length of text in the testimonials and they appear now with fixed height. Where can I change the height so it's flexible to the amount of text. I've tried to changed it in the <li> and the <ul> but that didn't worked for me.
I am writing my own vertical scrolling news ticker as I can't find one I like. The basic functionality is:
Get the first item in a container (like a UL) and store it temporarily Remove it. Add the removed item to the bottom of the list. Slide the rest of the list upwards. In the example below, a UL is the target container. Each LI in the UL is removed in turn, added to the bottom and the whole thing works pretty good.Except in Internet Explorer 7 (IE7). I'm not even trying to get this working in IE6. In IE7, when the item is removed, there is no sliding animation at all.
[Code]...
This is an example of what I currently have. There is also a button which adds more rows. It wasn't too hard to get it working using CSS and innerHTML:
<div id="main container">
<div id="row-1">
<input.....
</div>
<div id="row-2">
<input.....
</div>
etc
However, due to mass css headaches with the layout, I' like to see if it can be done it tables instead and using the DOM methods (nodes, createElement etc)
so far, the examples I've seen either don't allow the same functionality or don't work across IE5+(win), and modern versions of FFox, Safari and Netscape (MAC + WIN)
Does anyone know of a good class/example/tutorial?
I'm sure you are all familiar with this free uploadscript, if not i'm happy
to post the sourcecode.
I use this to upload files to the server, but it doens't check wether the
file already exists or not.
Anyone knows how to add this into the script?
It's also possible to do it onformsubmit and return false if the file
already exists, but what is the scriptcode?
I am starting to learn JavaScript. But now I need a good IDE to code.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLet me introduce free PHP IDE with available JQuery plug-in (paid):
Codelobster PHP Edition ([url]) - has all standart abilities for editing code
- PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript highlighting, autocomplete, code structure
- PHP debugger
- code folding, tooltips, help and etc.
And it has special JQuery features:
- autocomplete for JQuery library
- context and dynamic help for JQuery library
I want a standard looking dropdown select box what allows me to enter free text as well (ie the option is not in the list so the user can type in something else). I saw the UIauto complete plugin which is close but not exactly what I want.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a slide show that can fill the browser window. It has a similar scrolling thumbnail navigation as Flickr, but it is made with JavaScript. So, the big problem is memory usage. To have images that will fill the browser window their sizes are around 100+KB, and there are some slide shows that have over 200+ images.
I have tried removing the images from the DOM, I've tried using Ajax but the JavaScript engine's Garbage Collector seems to do nothing, until I refresh the page.Does anyone have any idea's on keeping the memory usage down?
