I am having an issue appending, setting attributes, text on the root node. Below is a sample of the code that performs this task (nLevel, nID, and sText are variables passed in by the containing function. XMLDOM is an XML DOMDocument object:

I'm a neophyte to Javascript, but I need it to dynamically add lines to a form. I was able to cobble together this inelegant looking code below. It adds the row when called, but there are more attributes needed for this to be correct for the application. 1) need to center the input in the TD 2)the input tags need type, size, maxsize, and value attributes added I have not been able to figure out the correct way to do this.
Also, is there a way for the value attribute to work with a PHP echo, or is there a Javascript method to display associative array values?

BTW is there an good online tutorial and/or reference for javascript or book(s) that you could recommend?
I'm struggling with Javascript and the DOM. Can anyone help me with
the appropriate script to get the SVG <g> element and loop through the
<text> elements, changing the value of each "y" attribute as I go.
The relevant fragment is shown below.
<g id="yaxisGroup" transform="translate(0,0.00) scale(1,1.00)">
<text x="0.00" y="24.00" font-size="18">Dog</text>
<text x="0.00" y="54.00" font-size="18">Cat</text>
<text x="0.00" y="84.00" font-size="18">Horse</text>
<text x="0.00" y="114.00" font-size="18">Bird</text>
</g>
I've got a set of input fields of type text, that I want to change to hidden. The fields are identified by the class name .navtitle. Here is the code I've written to try and change the fields:
Code JavaScript:
$(".navtitle").each(function() {
this.type = "hidden";
});
This works fine in Firefox, but doesn't work in IE, and worse still, breaks all of the other JQuery code I've got as well.
I use the same function as event-driven as well as simulation I simulate the applyTemp() function from the other function, it will shows the error "attributes is null or not an object"
1. function applyTemp(){
2. try{
3. var $this = $(this);
4. if ($this.attr('class') == 'details') {

I have the following code:
A = {
"value": "a",
};
B = A ;
B.value = "b";
alert (A.value); // => b
I expected A.value to be "a". how can I change values of a new object, without changing the parent-object?
I am using the SVG plugin. I have a simple test and I am unable to retrieve the x and y values of a text object.
$('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('x')
This returns as empty. Where as:
$('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('fill')
successfully returns the fill value.

I have a form that gets values that a user has selected from a list menu field, that end up like this added to the URL:[url]
Instead of the Field being mentioned more than once, how can I have it where it could mention the field once with the values coma separated eg:[url]
Would I use JS to change the URL? or VBscript?
I'm handling a form submission event. Is there a way to modifiy the value of a text input within the form before the form is finally submitted? I tried setting the value using, 'val()' - it updated the text field but the value sent with the POST was the original value

According to W3Schools (which I've been warned to stay away from), browser cookies are just text files. This tells me that ALL cookie data is ALWAYS of string type. Is this true? Is it possible for a cookie to be an object, or an int, or anything other than string?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFrom the code given below, I think it's pretty obvious what problem I'm having, but I'll explain:
Javascript is only returning HTML DOM attribute values when they are assigned by the javascript function, not when they are assigned by CSS. So, if I set the background colour of a div using CSS, then try to call that attribute value, JS doesn't return it, BUT, if I then assign a new value using JS, it can correctly read the attribute value.
What am I doing wrong? Or can javascript not pull HTML DOM attribute values assigned by CSS?[code]...
I have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.
Code:
Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.
(Example)
If the 4 text boxes have the following values:
In the database field they become:
However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.
(Example)
All 4 text boxes display this:
I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!
Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!
I'm just starting to try out "Ajax" web programming and I've got a question.
AJAX is fairly straightforward. Javascript creates an XMLHttp object and
then uses that to generate a hidden webpage with your results.
What I'd like to know is, how can I retrieve multiple values from an XMLHttp
request?For example, if my request generated an SQL query that returned a
Name, Address and PhoneNumber, could I get those values directly instead of
parsing them out of the ResponseText?
This is my current handler:
function showResult(pge) {
var url="getResult.asp?sid=" + Math.random() + "&q=" + pge
xmlHttp=GetXmlHttpObject(stateChanged)
xmlHttp.open("GET", url , true)
xmlHttp.send(null)
}
function stateChanged() {
if (xmlHttp.readyState==4 || xmlHttp.readyState=="complete") {
//Complete, so show results.
document.getElementById("myResult").innerHTML=xmlHttp.responseText;
//How to get mulitple values here?
}
}
What are the different methods of selecting some of the values in the json object below:
what different selecting methods can you use to get the date, or the views?

I have two columns in my table and the rows are created dynamically.
<table
For each row, I want to get the value of each table and insert them in an object as follows.
How can I do that?
In jquery how can I grab values from a forms input checkboxes? I written the code and I think I didn't properly request the object and also does the input need to have a id or a class? I have no id nor classes with these inputs just names.

How can i pass values of a form to jquery pop up by clicking submit button?
(I want to see the values on the pop upbefore finally inserting into database.)
I am trying to submit XML values via a form using jQuery. I then need to process the returned XML.
I am testing using the following jQuery:
And the following HTML form:
I am tring to submit the form to the URL [url]. It is not working.
I have a simple, three-field form that I am setting default values from within my jquery script. When a user clicks on a field the default values are removed, leaving that field blank for the user to type into.
The form accepts the default values from my jQuery script just fine. And when I click on the "to" and "from" fields, the default text is, in fact, removed. The problem is when I click on the textarea, the default value does not get removed.
Here is my html:
<form class="blogForm" name="blogForm">
<Input class="blogFormTo" type="text" name="email" />
<Input class="blogFormFrom" type="text" name="email" />
<textarea class="blogFormNote">
I have a simple set of checkboxes:

name="day2" type="checkbox" value="mon" /> Mon <input name="day3"
type="checkbox" value="tue" /> Tue <input name="day4" type="checkbox"
[code]....
I have one form where I need to get value from the first form, I am able to redirect the value which I want but unable to receive it... I am Redirecting as shown below:
var Redirect="";
Redirect += "Http://abc.com";
Redirect += "?PNo="+$("input[title='PersonnelNumber']").val();
window.location = Redirect;
[Code].....
I want to send the values of form elements to servlet so that server side validation can be done.
