I'm struggling to make a js alert when none of the 3 checkboxes on my form are selected.

I need to display an alert if you select two checkboxes, this isn't regarding validation, it pops a special message if you select 2 related products.

doesn't work, nor has anything else.
I have a form. It has several products. Each product has a price listed. Each product can be selected via a checkbox.
What I would like to do is have the sum of each selected product, added in total at the bottom of the form.
I would prefer to use javascript/dhtml for this, I don't want anything complex, just something to add to the page and have it display the total live as the customer checks/unchecks a product.
There is this problem that I encountered while practicing with jQuery.[code]The problem I'm having is, the alert does not fire whenever the checkboxes in the tbody are clicked.

This is what i have. It does not correctly add two values when two checkboxes are checked. It should add up to 160 but it adds up to 20 instead! any ideas?

how can i limit the number of checkboxes selected? I am looking for a max of 15 selections.
i've been able to set the max when the checkboxes are not stored as an array, but for simplicity storing as an array is the way i need to go.

so basically this is what I have its 2 sets of radio buttons named budget, premier and superior which values are $2,$3 and $5 respectively. a checkbox that if checked the value would make the the first group of radios multiplied by 2 if not it will remain the same the second group would be weekly, monthly and annually which the values will be multiplied to 1,x(52/12) and 52 respectively to everything above. the total would be displayed as an alert message if the none of the first group is selected an alert would be issued when calculate is pressed and that would be please select level of cover and if none of the second group is selected it would display please select frequency of payment but if none is selected at all both alerts would be displayed on a single dialogue box, i cant make a script to make it function properly .i didnt include the script because i suck it doesnt work

Issue is that after receiving confirm alert, when user press tab to go on Cancel button and press Enter key there, despite of firing event of Cancel button, it fires the event of OK button. this issue is not produced when user press the cancel button by mouse. all of then formatted nicelly with CSS. When i select one of then, say link1, it becames with a diferent background color.
What i want is to keep tha backg color even when the user clicks anywhere on the page (thus loosing focus) and until another link is clicked.
I tought this could be possible in a CSS only way, but now i think i have to use some Javascript.
