I have an autocomplete field and am just wondering how can i use it for multiple words? When i type the first word it works perfect, but when i space and type in the second word, its sends the two words back to the server and of course the results are wrong! eg. when i type the two words, 'Java javascript' the first word 'Java', autocomplete works well, pull the list. but when i space and type javascript, autocomplete sends 'Java +javascript' to my ajax function.
Is there a way to send multiple search paramaters using the jQuery UI 1.8.1 Autocomplete feature? Currently, I am able to send only the text entered in the text box which automatically maps to the "term" querystring paramater. I need to send couple of additional parameters to my server side code for filtering the search. Is this possible?
Iīm using Autocomplete - jQuery plugin 1.0.2 .. I know has been upgraded to another plugging but i want to continue using the old one.
I have on issue that I would like to get rid of it but I donīt know how. The problem is that when a term is searched, the autocomplete list suggest the same term multiple times, as many times as there are products with the same name, lets say the same text "cold beer". I just want that autocomplete suggest the term one time.
I have a regular expression that returns multiple matches. For e.g. If the user types a string "980ee,34223,werw" in a textbox, the regular expression match returns "ee" and "werw". I would like to highlight both "ee" and "werw" in the textbox.
How would one search for more than one one simultaneously? I have this function:
var flix = ["Any items left unattended on this table" , "Hello, World"];
function Multiwords(s){ var a = flix[0].toLowerCase(); var b = s.toLowerCase(); var result = a.indexOf(b) if (result >= 0)
[Code]...
It's pretty basic, it just searches through the first index of var flix and tells me if the parameter (s) is 'found' or 'not found'. I made it not to be case sensitive. However, how would I search for multiple words for example:
Multiwords("ANY items This") and if any combination of 'ANY' or 'items' or 'This' is found, i still get my alert message of 'Found'?
Does anyone have a library or patch to call a handler if a user leaves an autocomplete field without choosing one of the autocomplete options - i.e. they've entered free text. I'm working with an app that populates multiple fields from a single auto-complete value, and our latest requirement is to clear out a bunch of fields if the user's entered something manually - rejecting autocomplete suggestions. My initial attempts at hooking into onkeyfoo and onblur haven't lead anywhere productive, and I'm hoping someone else has managed to overcome the gnarly event and timing dependencies involved with onkeyfoo and blur being used for standard autocomplete behaviour.
I know the id's are the same in this, but I tried changing them and it still seems to make little difference.. I did wonder if I could add something variable to the id's and pass that in the function call, but could not figure it out.... the above gives me autocomplete on two fields, but will only fill one of them...
I have found two jquery plugins and i am trying to combine an action but to no avail. what i want to do is after selecting an item from the auto complete box i would like for it then to do a change function and retrieve details. Here are my 2 pieces of code.
I am in position to get the no. of lines in a 'div' and the words in each line inside a div tag. Is this possible to achieve using jquery. I have googled for so many hours but could not find any results related to my requirement.
So located in my div i have a <pre> and <code> tag nested inside. i want to know how i can match certain text within this and color just the specified text using jquery. i was just going to use a bunch of span tags but that just takes too much time!for a simple example i want to color the var keyword blue...
I am a little new to java script and jQuery so, if you can, please ignore my ignorance. I am creating a theme for Joomla and am calling in the website title using php. I would like so that every other word is a different color.
[Code]...
I would like to use jQuery to make every other word a different color in that specific span.
I have a (not too long) paragraph. In this paragraph a few words are wrapped with <span class="emphasize_m"> and <span class="emphasize_xl"> What i want to do is wrap all words in <span> which aren't wrapped already.Then i want to switch all span opacities to 0 (zero).I don't have an idea of how to wrap words separately.
We have site that has autolinking of keywords (~150), each going to a specific page in the site. On a forum page with 300+ posts (all on one page) the php script takes too long and errors with max execution time exceeded. (the owner want it all on one page, and there are also anchor links somewhere else directly to the posts)
Now I have tested jQuery with viewport plugin to see if I can only autolink the table-rows that are visible in the screen only. (if I run the function on the whole page the script becomes unresponsive) It works fine on page load, but when I run it in a loop to update every 5 sec the already matched keywords just disappear! I have tried the scrollstop plugin as well, but made the scroll unresponsive
var map = { 'test':'/test/test.php?id=2','test':'/test/test.php?id=2'}//these are in prod about 150 key-value pairs (function( $ ){ $.fn.autolink = function (theProfName,theProfUrl) {
Let's say I have this paragraph..<p>My dog is brown.</p I would like to accomplish this.. <p>My <span class="animal">dog</span> is brown.</p> So, I want to use JavaScript to find all "dog" strings inside the paragraph and wrap them in a SPAN element of a given class. I would love to have a plug-in that does that... like this: $("p").findAndWrap("dog", "<span class='animal' />"); I know this can be done in JS, but I'm not particularlyexperiencedin JS string manipulation, so it would take a while until I would accomplish this...Is there a plug-in that does this?
I have autocomplete showing up where I type into the textbox but when I try to select one with my mouse or keyboard it does not fill in the textbox with the option selected. Code is below. < script type="text/javascript"> $( function() {[code]....

I have a jQuery autocomplete application where the user types a query into a text box and autocomplete suggestions are returned. (It's working fine.) I would like to restrict the suggestions that are returned by passing the value of the selected option from a drop-down list (#deptField3) to the PHP script that does the autocomplete look-up.
