I have this function: when a user fill a field with this "c 10 20 30" i need to sum just the numbers and show the result.I have this but is NOT working...
Code JavaScript:
function escaja(str, prefix) { if (str.indexOf(prefix)===0){ var sumar = str.split(" ");
I have: <div class="date">21-Mar-11</div> I would like to select only the 21 and then only the "Mar" and replace the content of the div with "Mar 21," or something along those lines. The output is not the problem. I need selecting specific parts of the string. So I want to learn more about selecting specific parts of strings.
I'm trying to grab a specific part of a string of text and am wondering how to do it (or if it is possible to do it) with a jQuery selector.Is there any way to get that specific part of the link?
i have a function (below) which reads the last n lines from a text file. rather than read the whole line and output it as is, i want to be able to read the line and split the tab delimited text file so I can present it in columns, exclude unwanted data etc....
For some reason, when i split a basic string in IE I'm getting an extra value in the array which is something like this:
function(v,n){n = (n==null)?0:n; var m = this.length;for(var i = n; That's the actual value. Here's the call I use: var value = "test@test.com, test1@test1.com";
im pretty new to jQuery, but familiar with JS in general. im trying to get a dom element by id to change the read only attribute. using jQuery i'm doing the following: var field = $('#name[index][index]').
but when alerting the field value, i get [object Object] and not an inputObject as i would expect.
i can use the normal getElementById and it works as I would expect. Is this a problem with jQuery?
I have a bit of a problem and as my javascript is a rather poor I'm struggling to come up with a solution. Basically I need to split the variable "#country" into two parts and call the second half as the "this" value for '#int-dc'. Using '+' as the start point end ending at the end of the string.
For instance 'this' returns 12+44 I want to split it to "12" and "+44" the latter (+44) replacing 'this' in the code below.
I am very new to javascript and programming and I need a little direction. I have working a javascript that reads the value of radio buttons and writes them to a text file. My code is at [URL]. The text file has the following format:
What I need to do is have javascript read the text file (c: estfile.txt) and put each section of information (name, comments, numbers, etc.) into an array. Then, add the number from each columns up. For example, the first number from Name and the first number from Name1 is 5 +1 = 6. This sum is then added to another array that can be printed on the screen. I know this is a lot of information.
i have an expression, say "5*7 + temp". i have an algorithm that finds out that "temp" is undefined in that expression. now i need to change the color or background color of "temp" to show that it is undefined.
i know which position the "temp" is, but i dont know how to change the color of it.
I need to convert various chars with place holders in JS which will be then converted back in PHP. My problem is that in my JS code, if I have this string sequence ",,," my JS code is only changing the first comma char:
Rather than what I want which is:
How can I get the JS replace function to operate on all occurences of a char (comma in this case) and convert them?
This is a small piece of code from an Information Scroller I'm using as a news ticker. I have the title of each News Article in a MySQL table. What I need help with is how to take each article's title from the database and place each one into the array above. I'd be happy to clarify if you don't understand what I'm asking.
