I am a total jQuery newbie and am looking to find a slideshow slider plugin that will support 3 photo slides and 1 video slide. Can anyone tell me if anything like this exists and, if so, which one would work for me? I like Coin Slider because I can link the images but it doesn't mention if it supports video as well (which I don't need to link).
View 3 RepliesI have a site that I am developing where I use the prettyPhoto plugin to display larger size versions of photos. I have everything configured as per the directions on the plugin page here: [URL] I am experiencing a weird issue however. When I mouseover my anchor image, the mouseover is only on the top and bottom half of my image. The whole middle section of my anchor image is getting no mouseover effect. Meaning my cursor only changes to a pointer on the top & bottom parts of the image. It changes back to a regular cursor when directly in the middle of the image. The anchor image (the image I'm using to link to the larger version) is sized 333px wide by 500px tall and I am linking to jQuery version 1.5 as hosted on the Google api server.
prettyPhoto is working perfectly except for this mouseover issue. I do have a caption telling the user to click the picture to see the larger version, however if they mouseover directly in the center and don't see the mouseover effect they may think something is wrong. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong and how I could fix the issue?
Cycle plugin displays horizontally my vertical photos (photos taken with my camera in portrait position).The same photos are displayed vertically (the right way) by other imaging applications (e.g. Photoshop and Finder or Preview in OSX).The same photos are displayed horizontally (the wrong way) by Safari and Firefox (IE not tested). It can be a plug-in, but this is for a client so it has to be okay for commercial use (and free).It should also be able to support other content like ads and polls/questionaires, in the form of a div. Also HTML 5 compatible with all the cross-browser compatibility one would expect.

How can I determine when a video has finished playing to take some action? There's a method .isPlaying() which could be used for this but maybe there's a more elegant way.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a relative newcomer to jQuery (and for that matter an inexperienced web builder) but I've really enjoyed using the jQuery UI and plugins as I work to redo my site. My problem is this. My site includes many video progressive download files. I have tried to combine either jQuery UI (Accordian) or a plugin (nivoSlider) (not both at the same time) with a video embed using SWFObject. For some reason the combination cause my video playback to stutter.
Here are two test pages. They access they same mp4 files but in Test_1 I have disabled the nivoSlider js. The videos playback smoothly in Test_1 but in Test_2 the playback stutters. [URL]

Having issues with the video plugin for jQuery. This works great for Chrome but not Safari or Firefox. In Firefox it just shows up as a grey box with a light grey 'X' in the middle, and in Safari as nothing. I'm guessing it's something about the MIME but I have no idea what to do about that.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a video gallery with a bigger div with width 500 pixels where the main video is waiting to be played and below is a smaller div with all the others videos from the gallery having width of 80 pixels.The list of video are managed by a content management system in PHP and are the result of youtube "Share Embed action" where the result is an iframe with the link for the video.How can i clicking on a video from the smaller div see the video being displayed in the bigger div ? already playing? or in a new layer above the website ?For now the video plays in the div it is located at.As an example here is the source video format :

I'm creating a slideshow using the Cycle plugin. I'm using Prev / Next options to trigger the transitions and also "alt" attribute to show some metadata on each slide. My question is: Can I use some other metadata to show captions with links in it? I followed [URL] to create this slideshow, but I can't see how to implement links on captions.

Rather than saying all instances of #projects become a slide, i would like #project_img, #project_title and #project_description to all be separate, yet i want them all to be look like theyre in sync. I would also want the pause on hover to work for the entire parent div #projects so each div stops fading in/out.

I'm trying to create a video box on a website that plays a youtube video and then automatically plays random recommended videos with no break in playback. An endless playlist created by youtube based on the initial video. Youtube uses Javascript API. I have never used Javascript before but i'm just trying to get the video to play as above. There are few tutorials online and I couldn't find anyone trying to do a similar thing.

Can anyone share some ideas as to how we can resolve this. The player is in Flash, and uses an eternal XML file for the video. We have checked and all connection are correct.

I am new to javascript (I started learning it today) so please explain it for newbies.I am trying to get the amount of video (in seconds) buffered already by the client and the whole duration of the video.Then, I divide them to get the precentage which was buffered so far.I have no problem storing the durating using:var duration = document.getElementById('vid').duration- returns "12.6" (seconds).I am struggling with getting the buffered time. I tried: var buffered = document.getElementById('vid').buffered.This one returns "[object TimeRanges]".From what I understood this is some kind of an object (Like an array?).I tried returning "buffered.length" and I get "1" back.

Users click on one of the videos and that video begins playing in the player at the top of the page. Is there any way that the link the user clicks to play the video can also jump to the video player at the top of the page? I've tried various hyperlinks but I can't get it to work. The videos play fine, but the users don't realize that they need to scroll back up to the top of the page to see the video.

So Im trying to create a slideshow with thumbnails the user can scroll through and use to navigate the slideshow. I'm a big fan of cycle so I wanted to use that as my main slideshow component and was planning on using jcarousel for the pager. So far it works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, yet in IE the thumbnails are not loading. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the images in the pager are generated and then jcarousel just isnt proccessing that in IE but I 'm not sure. I feel like I'm very close to getting this slideshow to work, yet I need to figure out why it is failing in IE.
