JQuery :: Set A Cookie - Opening Slide Show Should Be Skipped ?
Jan 9, 2011
I am trying to set a cookie with jquery. The point of this cookie is to tell me if the person hasvisitedmy site before. If they have the opening slide show should be skipped. My problem is that I do not know how to do this.
The problem with my current code is that it sets the cookie but it should only set on the 2nd visit or...I need another way to count the visits to the page.
1. I am trying to figure out how to open a tab, open a show/hide within that tab, and link to a particular person from an incoming link. 2. I also am trying to figure out how to open a tab and then a pane within that tab from an incoming link.
This is the code used for the tabs
This is the code used for the toggle // Andy Langton's show/hide/mini-accordion - updated 23/11/2009 // Latest version @ [URL] $(document).ready(function() { var showText='+/-'; var hideText='+/-'; var is_visible = false; .....
I have a problem on my wordpress blog that is integregated with a 3rd party shopping system. What I'm finding is that the Image Slide Show will not show up on the product page but will show up on other pages. obviously there is some conflict but I don't know where.Example: here is the product listing page while in the header the slide show seems to work fine.Now here is the page if you select one of the t-shirts but as you will see the image slide show in the Header vanishes?
I am using some excellent code for a photo slide show from ..
The way this slide show gallery works is there are mulitple list items in an UL and within each list item is an image. sequentially one list item has the class .show and this changes the css of that list item so opaque is set to 1. Making it visible. A timer determines when the list items change so the next list item within the hierarchy has .show. Once is reaches the last list item, it goes back to the first item.
The problem I have with my code is that when the page first loads up, the first image displays briefly before changing to the second image. After this happens, the slide show behaves correctly.
In bold are the the important lines of code. First I use jquery to assign .class to first list item. The second line of code in bold is a conditional statement. If no image has .show, assign it to the first list item. This is when the code doesn't work as intended.code...
have set up a simple slide show within a table to present as redesign option on home page for a new client. The SS is working fine but the rest of the content that follows in rows beneath are not showing when the page loads. They do appear when you hit refresh. what's blocking the load. Here's the link to the test page:[URL]
i have a slideshow at [URL] which utilizes the following code. how can i get rid of the fade effect and just have one image transition to the next cleanly with no fade animation?
/* * jQuery Cycle Plugin for light-weight slideshows * Examples and documentation at: http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/ * Copyright (c) 2007 M. Alsup
I used JQUERY to create a slideshow on my website. It worked fine off-line but when i uploaded it on the server it doesn't work at all. I'm very new to this so i was wondering if its the coding, server or the script that makes this problem.and the problem is in each and single one of those pages in the menuknow if I should post a certain part of the script or the html file to ensure a better solution.
I'm working on a page, where I want to use jQuery to build a "Portfolio" div that contains pics and info about some of my work. I found a bunch of cool tutorials about making a slide show, but they all have a sliding animation. With my page, the sliding animation would look awkward. I'm fine if it just replaces the current div with the next one. I'm just planning on using a previous and next button (Within the same div) to cycle through these.
I've written a script for a slide show.It plays fine the first time it cycles through the images, but there's a glitch when it loops back to the beginning. The wrong image flashes briefly on the screen.Here's the code:
// var i = -1;
I'm using the image cycle script, does anyone know if its possible to set a different CSS classes for each image, for example I'm trying to load images in a slide show that have different heights, I've setup two different CSS classes that have different heights, but I'm not sure how to get the script to call them at the right time?
I have a vertical navigation menu with the basics (a
with four
) but I need one of these list elements to slide to the left and when it finishes show or slide down a nested
with its own li that is now hidden with display: none. and when I click again the first list element I wish everything to close back. or alternatively to close with a timeout. so far I got to this:
I'm using Lightbox picture displayer [URL].. and a content slide show UI [URL].. on the same pagesimultaneously. Although when I connect to the javascript files in my html page one of the effects won't work. Whichever javascript file I include last doesn't seem to work.
In the scenario below my content slide show effects won't work because they are listed first. It seems that whatever is listed last overrides everything else. I've also listed the error I get when running the page.
Trying to call the same Ajax function twice on initial load of the page, but only the second one executed. I try to load mainpage, and inside mainpage I try to use ajax to load content1.asp to div1 and content2.asp to div2.
Test scenario (based on the Situation below): - Page loaded, 1st ajax function skipped, 2nd ajax function loaded - Remarked 1st ajax function, then 2nd ajax function loaded - Remarked 2nd ajax function, then 1st ajax function loaded - Moved the 2nd ajax function to above 1st ajax function, the 2nd ajax function is skipped.
Conclusion: - the 1st ajax function always skipped. But Why? How to ensure both ajax is called upon loading of the page?
I'm having a little trouble with 2 differentJS scripts. I have a drop down slide menu and a parralex slide gallery. Both work on separate pages and puton the same page they still work however the submenu of the slide down menu does not. if I remove the style sheet that belongs to the gallery
Then the munu works, however (obviously) the page layout goes wrong. if i remove
Alex Holland Perspective
the menu works however page layout goes wrong andI loose my header
Anyone could give me some leads on where to find a javascript program to make an automated slideshow with pictures located in an specific directory? What I mean is that I do not wish to specify specific pictures, but just tell the program to use all the contents (*.*) of a specific directory.
I have to include:1) 10-20 pictures2) a title that is displayed at the top of the page3) the file name of the current picture4) a drop down list that allows the user to ynamically change the background color. Black (default), red, green, orange, brown, and blue.5) Right under the pictures there should be five clickable images for first, previous, next, last and random. 6) I can use any images for the above described buttons.7) The slide show should rotate through images whenever border conditions are met. For example, if the next button is clicked on the last picture, then the first picture in the deck should get loaded. Alternatively, if the previous button is clicked on the first picture, then the last picture in the deck should get loaded.8) When the random button is clicked, a random picture must be selected. A randomly selected picture must be different from the current picture.9) Each button must display a tool-tip when the mouse hovers over the image. 10) CSS for all formatting.11) Javascript code in separate file.So far i have:
function loadPicture() { var img = new Image();
I am trying to finish a script that shows a particular div based on the last 2 chars in the cookie value. I have the cookie part done. how to show hide part.
I have a script I am trying to use to show or hide a div id. It uses a cookie, set on link click, to remember if the div should be displayed or not.
It works, but I'm having two problems:
1) The function only shows/hides the first instance of the div, not all instances.
2) Reloading the page after an initial cookie set causes the div to always initially be displayed regardless of the last cookie value (cookie seems to automatically re-set itself to 'tutor-show').
Here is the code:
You can see it in action here: uomeds{dt}com/cbl/cbl-2.htm
I'm basically looking for script that uses hide show functionality. with the addition of save state ability based on a cookie that remembers what item the user last expanded for his/her previous visit.
In other words lets say a user expands a link that has a list of information.
Then the user leaves the page and comes back to the same page. It would be ideal if that page remembers(via cookie) what the user last expanded.
Does ANYONE... know where or can perhaps paste some sample code?
