May 18, 2010I have a vertical navigation menu with the basics (a <ul> with four <li>) but I need one of these list elements to slide to the left and when it finishes show or slide down a nested <ul> with its own li that is now hidden with display: none. and when I click again the first list element I wish everything to close back. or alternatively to close with a timeout. so far I got to this:

When an image is clicked on, the new text should slide down covering the default text. When another image is clicked on that text should slide down and cover the previous image's text.Right now the script only allows a vertical display of the images and I can't put the sliding text in a specific place.Here is the CSS

Oct 19, 2011I'm making a form with some fields. Once the form is submitted it updates the page with a new div containing the data entered without refreshing. Im using jquery form plugin. What I'd like to achieve is the new div(.record) to .slideDown. I guess I need to somehow specify the exact div by giving it an id or number. I'm not sure and why im here.
At the moment when i submit all of the divs(.record) are hidden with .hide, then they all slide down with .slide. Best i can understand is to hide the last div then slide down. But again.. I don't know how to specify to only slide down the last div added and not the current .record divs on the page.

Aug 26, 2009I have a container div with two inner divs. I have one inner div visible taking up 100% of the visible area and another hidden div. I
want the visible div to slide to the left while simultaneously sliding the other div in from the right. This works fine except that while the right div is sliding in, it appears below the left div. How can this be done?

Jan 9, 2010I have a page that has a box where announements can be seen. What I want is that when the page loads a div containing some announcement text should show up within this box. The divshould remain within the box for about 10 seconds, whereafter it should start sliding to the left and eventuallydisapper. Butif the user during the sliding decides to Hover or clickwithin that div then the sliding should stop andthe div should move back to its initail position (so that the whole text can be read again). The div shouldnotbegin any sliding process as long as theuser is hoveringwithin the div. Howeverif the user hover out of the div then the sliding proces should begin again.
What I'm trying to achieve is to havea annoncement to show up in this box, only for 10 seconds,whereafterit should disapper (by sliding away). However if the user wants to reads the annonuncementhe should be able to do so, by hovering that announcement. And whenthe user hasfinished reading he can just hover away and the announcement will disapper within few secounds. I have done some work here and there. I have used the slider method from jqueryui and the hover methods and the initial sliding process when the page loads, but putting them all to gether is not going good.

Aug 27, 2010Is there a way of making a cycle slide scroll when either left or right are pressed? I've tried searching here and there and the only thing I've come across that seemed to word was [URL]. If you'll be so kind to check that page, you'll see that the script requires a link with a class to "find" where it is, that in my cycle would be .activeSlide (I think) but it does not work. As you may have guessed, im really not in my turf with js but i think the problem is that the a.activeslide is applied by cycle to the html after the keyboard script searches for it. Is there an easy way to allow keyboard navigation? I only need left and right.

So of course as the page is loading things are showing ! So we get the div initially showing. I tried to set the visibility initially then it is always hidden and we never see the trayimprovments to this implementation below:

Oct 18, 2011I am using some excellent code for a photo slide show from ..
The way this slide show gallery works is there are mulitple list items in an UL and within each list item is an image. sequentially one list item has the class .show and this changes the css of that list item so opaque is set to 1. Making it visible. A timer determines when the list items change so the next list item within the hierarchy has .show. Once is reaches the last list item, it goes back to the first item.
The problem I have with my code is that when the page first loads up, the first image displays briefly before changing to the second image. After this happens, the slide show behaves correctly.
In bold are the the important lines of code. First I use jquery to assign .class to first list item. The second line of code in bold is a conditional statement. If no image has .show, assign it to the first list item. This is when the code doesn't work as intended.code...
