JQuery :: Select All Of The Items In A Multiselect Listbox Using A Checkbox?

I am trying to select all of the items in a multiselect listbox using a checkbox and and the change event. I have it working correctly but the problem is that it is extremely slow. There are about 420 items in the listbox loaded from a d.b. I noticed that the scroll bar also scrolls when the items are selected which i dont want.

I have an ASP.net page where I load a record set server side and upload it into a listbox. I'm trying to do all the movement functionalities of the listbox items client side. Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to copy selected listbox items from one listbox to another -- on button click. I've searched for a while, but every example that I found moves the actual item into another listbox, I just want to copy the selected item to another listbox.

I was wondering if there is a way to disable a multiSelect Listbox and still allow it to scroll for IE browsers only? I've searched around to no avail. Is it at all possible?

I have a form of data I am working on where I may have *nearly* the same thing appear with a checkbox appear multiple times.
For example:
<input type="checkbox" name="blah" value="widget1||123456">
<input type="checkbox" name="blah" value="widget2||123456">
<input type="checkbox" name="blah" value="widget3||123456">
<input type="checkbox" name="blah" value="widget4||123456">
<input type="checkbox" name="blah" value="widget5||123456">
So, if checkbox #1 (widget1) is checked, it will either disable all other ones containing the sku 123456 OR replace the others in the form having sku 123456 with an image of a sort. Is there a way to select this without iterating through every checkbox in the form and looking at it's value?

I need to do a clientside check of a form to see if a "required" multiselect list and a checkbox have been left blank or not. To clarify, the user is required to select either one or more options from the multiselect list, the checkbox, or a combination of both.
What they can't do is leave both of them blank. Both the multiselect and the checkbox pass values to a PHPList script on the server as if they were one multiselect with the name "attribute17[]".
***Disclaimer - I am a total javascript noob and am piecing together examples from several days (and long nights) of googling.***
I'm dealing with a very long subscribe form, and so far I've been successful with figuring out the code to validate emails, select dropdowns, and checkboxes. This combination multiselect and checkbox is the last piece of the form that is giving me trouble. Hopefully somebody here has a solution.
For simplicity I've reduced the javascript and the form down to just the part I'm still having trouble with. Here is a piece of the javascript that I'm trying to use:

I have a fully working listbox that I'm having troubles with. The idea is to select from the first box and add to the second box. I've done this a variety of ways and wanted to use DOM as it solves some speed issues with the other solutions if the elements in the boxes are in the thousands.
The problem I'm having may be in IE6, note how using the code below that you can move items over to the right hand side using "Add >" and it sorts it the result like a good script. But when you start to move things the other way using "< Rem" the first box is fine, but the 2nd box never bothers to remove the results! From there on, the moving is pretty much broken. I suspect this is an IE bug since if I ALT+TAB and hide the browser then go back the results are as they should be, however, perhaps I'm just doing something dumb in my code? Code:

I'm trying to loop through a listbox that is runat="server" (to get all the values of the items inside the listbox regarless of if they are selected or not). Now i have searched for hours on end and still don't find anything (all the examples is just for the selected items....). What is a the correct way of doing this. O, i want to do it with jQuery preferably.

i'm after some script to display some html depending on what is selected in a list box
the html i want to display are checkboxes so it's more stuff for a form i'm using lotus notes, so i have to use javascript.
i can get it to display a checkbox if a particular item is selected but it won't show up in place, it loads a new page with the check box the only thing on that new page.

I'm trying to create a listbox using <select> HTML tags that can do
a form submit when an option in the list is selected. So far this works,

This is something I spent way too much time on, trying to figure out why it didn't want to do what I wanted in IE7. I'm posting it here, so maybe it will save some others a bit of time. The problem: You have a <select> and you wish to deselect all options. It turns out that you need to change the code, depending on whether you're using a select that can take multiple options or not. Both versions work in FF and Safari for both variants, but for Internet Explorer you'll need to use them as specified below.

I have a multiple select list
