[code]If you step into this code in a debugger, obj is correctly passed into genSendButton as an object of the appropriate class. The code in the if(obj.msNotified == 0) clause generates an error. The var obj resolves to NPanlel: (this happens to be the class of the object). Regardless of how I try to pass obj into the method sendNotification it doesn't resolve to an object. Can anyone shed any light on where my omission of intelligence is occurring?

I'm a jquery newbie and am trying to use it in a simple web application. This application has a controller servlet that forwards the request to a 'login.jsp' page by default. In the login.jsp page, I used Jquery for the hover effect on the submit button. It works absolutely fine if change the extension of the file to html. If it is changed back to jsp, it the javascript is not working. I see the following error in Firebug console:
Syntax Error
[Break on this error] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"
***Please see the attachments for the login.jsp and login.js files.***
I have the files 'login.jsp', 'login.js', 'jquery-1.3.2.min.js' under the webapps/QT/jsp/ folder.

I'm trying to get a swf file working. When I put the swf and xml files in the root directory, it worked flawlessly in FF and IE; when I moved them into their own directory (/flash), it works in FF, but IE will load only the swf file, and not the xml file.

I've run into a problem where the click() event doesn't seem to work on file fields in Firefox 3, but it does under IE7, Safari and Chrome.
I've search all over but most solutions rely on using css to overlay a file field with opacity 0 and so on. Not exactly what i'm looking for and will use it as a last resort.
Any ideas on being able to use the click() method for file fields under FF3?

I'm just starting to learn jQuery actually.. I downloaded the starterkit, unpacked it and also downloaded the latest jQuery file from this website.. all referenced to with the right path in the file but for some reason it doesn't work! I also tried the link to the jQuery file on Google but still the same problem.. I know the path is right because when I view source and click on the link, the right file opens.
If I click the 'Run Code' button on the homepage here it does what it's supposed to do, just on my own computer nothing works?

I have the following in my html page code...
When I try to put this in an external file (I need to do this to avoid placeholder replacement problems) the js is ignored. I am removing the <script> html portions and the js file is in the same folder as the script. Other js in the external file IS functioning so the file is being read ok.
Can anyone give me some insight into how to get this done?

The system uses individual PDF files for each page, and you can navigate using the controls on the side. It's not ideal, as it was made to replace a horrible system and has the limitations of the content being presented.
That being said, I think it's pretty good. The trouble area is related to navigation: when you navigate the documents, some JavaScript detects the current URL of the content frame and updates the nav controls (previous and next page numbers) and table of contents links (bold, highlight) if they have changed. That part works fine. The problem area is with IE and PDF links. If you click a page link within the PDF, it opens that PDF file in the same frame. In FF and every other browser, the JS URL detection works fine.
In IE, of course, it doesn't detect that a different PDF is being displayed. If it can't detect the new PDF file, and by extension, the file number, the nav controls don't work right. Now - before anyone asks - it DOES work in IE if you navigate to the PDF document by using the links in the navigation system that I built. It's just when you arrive at a PDF from another PDF that it fails.
This is hard to explain more clearly, so take a look: [URL]
To see this in action, visit page 4, the table of contents. Click a page number link, for instance, page 9. Once it loads, click "next page" at the top left of the interface. In FF, it goes to page 10. In IE, it goes to page 5, since the JavaScript is unaware that the frame has changed PDF files. It doesn't make sense, since FF can see it plainly.
My code is all out in the open. This thing has to be designed to run off of a CD as well as on the website. If I could use server-side scripting, it would be VERY different, I assure you.

I have made aa simple offline website to be used as an intranet. This is made up of an html file and a seperate js file.
While testing, i had the html on my c: drive and the one line js file sitting on a network drive (g - everything worked how it should.
I then put the html onto g: drive and find that the part that the js file controls no longer works...
All my file paths are the same and point to the right place but for some reason the js doesn't work.

I'm trying to put in place a file upload validation check. So at the client-side, the User selects a file. Before uploading, at the GUI, if the file exceeds an imposed limit, it will prompt the User that it exceeds the permitted size for upload.
And if it is within the permitted size, the full file path of the file to be uploaded will then be obtained and then used for the actual upload to the Server.
My program is built on EXTJS and Java, running using Tomcat. Browser restricted to Internet Explorer 7 only.

I wanna send a file thru the JQuery.load, I want it to work exactly like the regular post without the JQuery. So I can check the $_FILES['file']['error'] in PHP and all its features like I do without using JQuery.
$("#load").load('gerenciar_itens.php',{/* This is where I wanna pass the file. */}, function(data){
alert(data);
});

I have a problem with the latest version of the jQuery Form Plugin (2.80). To be more precise, I guess I am doing something wrong, and with an older version (2.67) somehow it didn't matter.With the old version, the file was uploaded without problems. Now Firefox opens a new Tab on clicking the submit button and nothing is done. Chrome doesn't open a new tab, but also nothing happens. In Wireshark I can see that there is no file attached in the POST message with the older version, the file was sent.My first guess was that my file handling on the server side is erroneous - but on the other hand, when there is no file attached, what should I handle there?

I'm working on this project where I'm trying to use jquery to read from an xml file and generate added code to a html index file by creating dropdown select menus and then allowing the user to display pictures according to what of the 2 category 'select' types they select on the dropdown list.
The program works as far as generating the select dropdown list but only generates the images for the first selected option. When I select the second drop down category nothing happens it simply shows the pics from the first category. When I go into firebug and display the html file after the script is run there are an extra set of <p> tags without anything in them. I traced through the script and can't find where the <p></p> is coming from. It's not on the initial html page. I have the script below for the xml and jq.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<gallery>
