This is my first message and I am extremely new to jQuery. I am using Ajax to call external html pages into a div in my site. I have three external html forms which uses JavaScript and one .file. When I call these pages, the html pages are being rendered correctly but the JavaScript and .pl file (form post) is not being executed. Any ideas on how to resolve?

View source code of external files in html like *.js and *.css
For example:
In this page I am Posting to, there are 24 *.js files. They are loaded but you can't see them. I would like to view some of these external javascript files for study. Not necessarily on this site, but where ever I find them.
I am implementing Ajax for a new website and I've run into a hurdle.
It seems like Javascript does not 'see' any div elements that are loaded from external file with Ajax.
Is this a common issue, and is there a solution? Or am I overlooking something obvious?
What I'm doing is loading a simple external page via Ajax. The pages loads just fine, and it contains div's with unique id's. If I execute a Javascript function, it seems to not recognize these newly-rendered div's from the Ajax external file. Is this the case? Can Javascript be re-invoked on command, so it can see the new div's?
I actually use a counter on a webpage (It works). To do it, I use an inline javascript but I would like to unify the entire page and call that counter directly in the external Javascript that manages the whole site.

How to modify it ?
I have the following JavaScript (see below). The script requests an XML file from the server and displays it on the page.The script works fine when the requested XML file is stored on the same server as the script.The problem is when I try requesting an XML file from an external server such as the National Weather Service. I get an error. If I take the XML file from the National Weather Service and save it to my server it works. Why can't I use my script to request XML files stored on external servers?

I created a page (index.html, including the embedded javascript) with a div loaded by an external html content. But in this new content the click function I defined in the index.html page does not work in the new content. Then my question is: do i need to include all javascript in the external html content?

Step1: Ajax content along with js loaded into update_div from a.html
Step2: Ajax content along with js loaded into update_div from b.html
What happens to the js loaded from a.html? Is it lurking in the memory or automatically/magically removed from the browser memory? I am afraid of memory leaks, if the js is still lurking in memory, the more ajax calls made, the more js is going to be held up in memory. Unless am totally wrong; i have no idea of the mechanism happening.
In the code below I am trying to show the echo statement from a php file. The ajax call works when I use the alert(), but I am trying to put it in a div tag but not working.

I have php method which is called via ajax and returns a long html string which consists of multiple tables, each table represents one question in a questionnaire. They display fine. I then have a button which calls a second php method that returns one individual table - identical in structure to the multiple tables that were returned previously. However,when displayed,the new table has the an inline style "display:block;" and so it screws up the way it looks. I have, at no point, declared this additional style anywhere in my code. Even if I do add an inline style of "display:table;" to the returned html, it is overwritten in the output html - so it is clearly being done by javascript.

The click event is triggering on buttons outside the inserted table but not on the buttons within the table.

I'm not having this issue with Mozilla Firefox, but it seems that the results of the code below are being cached in EI 8. When the browser makes another asynchronous call to the server with different results from the database, those results are not being displaying on the wepage. How do I fix this problem. As I mentioned above the code works fine in Mozilla Firefox. The page displays data in EI 8 with no errors five seconds after the page has loaded, but as the information in the database changes, I'm not seeing those changes reflected on the page in 5 second intervals. I'm assuming this is a caching issue, if so how do I fix it.

I have a select options list where a different function is called depending on the option chosen. I'm using an internal function to check the value of the option selected, then calling an external function based on the option chosen. I am using a 3 column layout. One column contains links and 2 columns contain content. I need to load the content to 2 Divs in one click. When a link is clicked it should load some file in column 2 and another file in column 3.

I am working with an older browser more of MAC IE. It works with DOM 1 and extremely partially with DOM 2. contentDocument and contentWindow does not work on this browser.
The above code works very nicely, however as soon as I rename the file to "xmlsample.xml" with an xml extension, it does not work anywork. If you have any other solutions please let me know. Rem we can't use any newer techniques, this is very basic DOM.
