I installed Superfish, use the menus, everything is ok.how can Supersubs be enabled in Joomla? I cannot find a tweak in the Superfish backend module? Does any filehave to be edited by hand?
View 1 RepliesI am using jQuery Superfish (with Supersubs) but I'm getting an JS error when loading the page:Error: $("ul#topmenu").supersubs is not a function I looked at the supersubs.js file but I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm calling jquery.js, jquery.superfish.js, and jquery.supersubs.js on the <head> and initiating menu as suggested:

It'd be nice if Superfish was hosted on something like Github so we could better give feedback like this. Anyways, the Superfish plugin [URL]has an additional plugin called "Supersubs," which makes the drop-down menus change their width toaccommodatemenu items on one line.
It's in beta and is a little buggy, I couldn't get it working perfectly on some of my menus--it would make the menu widths wider than necessary. But I discovered a superior way to accomplish the same thing, using only CSS. I've tested it to work in IE6, IE8's emulated IE7, IE8, Firefox, and Webkit (Chrome/Safari).The drop-down <UL>, and children <LI>s should have no width set, and both should be set to display:block; The link should be styled as such: #nav li ul a { display:block; width:auto; white-space:no-wrap; }And that's it! Auto-expanding drop-downs!
Trying to get the Superfish menus to work in vertical mode, whereby each list item is a single line, and the next menu down sits to the
right of that menu. For normal horizontal menus you use the Supersubs option when you call Superfish, but the superfish-vertical.css you need to make the menus layout vertically, seem to overwrite the widths of the UL's and LI's.
My question is regarding the behavior of Supersubs in IE6. It seems to adjust to the correct width, but, it applies the new width to all of
the parent UL's of the widest LI. In IE7 and FF the new width is only applied to the containing UL of the LI.
I was basically trying to follow several tutorials to get a superfish menu working on my website, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work.I included both the superfish.css and the superfish.js in my website's header; both paths are corrent and point to the designated file.I then included the superfish function in my header like this:

The corresponding <ul> element has the required sf-menu class, but still there are no animations, no fading, no delays, just the plain css functionality provided by the superfish.css.
I know it's a newbie question, my first experience was with ExtJs but am moving away from that due to the license changes.

Is this permissible, or do I have to download jquery.js to my server? If not, I have other questions:
- My hosting service does doesn't have gzip compression enabled --what file do I need to install on my server if I don't have GZIP available?

I have a website that I'm trying to install a shopping cart on and I'm trying to make it so when a certain color is selected an option pops up as an additional feature people have the option of choosing, but I only want the option visible when certain colors are selected. I think I have the code figured out, but there are 2 colors I want the option visible for and currently the option is only showing up for one of the colors. I tried creating two id's for each color and two jQuery codes that were basically the same but one for #color1 and one for #color2 but that didn't work either.

I am about to launch a SharePoint site with thousands of users accessing the site from a very, very slow network. Two questions. Is there a way to 'install' jquery so that it doesn't download every time they access the site?
_All_ users are on the same domain and are using IE7. Once they download JQuery on the initial page visit, does it still redownload the file every time they access the site? Temporary internet files don't get cleared after each session, so I'm assuming it doesn't get re-downloaded.
I have a basic web site where people can download my programs. To make it easier for them is it possible that I could add some javascript that would allow them to automatically install/run the program for them maybe with appropriate options/warnings etc.

What this script does is pull in all dependencies and install them. Just like using the installer in linux. But there does not seem to be any howtos for beginners. I am having a problem with superfish working in IE8. It displays vertically instead of normal, i.e. horizontal.
This may be a known issue but i cant find anything on it.. it may also be a CSS issue but i cant tell for sure...

I ma just trying to figure out how I might center a superfish menu - and possibly make the top level LIs 'auto size'. It sees the menu will only float left or right. Of course I am not a css guru either - it could be staring me in the face.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCycle and Superfish. I have just tested my site [URL] on IE9beta. and discovered that the superfish dropdown menus are hidden by the cycle slideshow. I clicked the Compatability button - still the same - then clicked it again. Problem has now gone away.
