I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my labels on top of the fields and when an invalid field is found, validate moves the focus to the first invalid field, but when it does that the user can't see the label. How can I make it scroll up just a tiny bit to include the label? Also, wondering if anyone has implemented scrolling in general so that the page scrolls smoothly up to the error location rather than the jump you get with a focus change to an off-screen element.

The problem is that after adding a new input field - the content in the other fields is deleted.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
<table>
<tr>
<td>
<input type="hidden" name="on1" value="Size" maxlength="200">Size</td>
[code].....
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
So I have to ask some stupid questions and make sure that there is not something wrong in this simple syntax. I am trying to get input field attributes type and tagname by field ID. Heres the code..
Code JavaScript:
var type = $('#' + input_id).attr('type');
var tag = $('#' + input_id).attr('tagName');
When I look in firebug I see there is the correct ID in input_id variable and that the input field with that id exists. But for tag and type variables I just get 'undefined' for reason unknown.. syntax is correct or?
how to write this code out correctly.
Basically I want the var called 'input' to output the value of the input field named 'content' within the div.
My HTML structure is as follows for a better understanding (there's more than one .overlay div, so assume this is duplicated several times):
<div class="overlay">
<form>
<input value="value" name="content" />
<input type="submit" value="submit">

Trying to create some sort of notifier if an input field does not meet certain conditions. I guess its my own validator. I could use a simple .show() but the input fields are not spaced out. I have attached a link to the jsFiddle i was working on.

I have the following html
<div id="xx">>
<html:form ....>
<html:text property="title" value="" styleId="forum_newthread_title" />
</html:form
</div>
The xx div is opened as a overlay using jQuery.overlay plugin. Now this works great. But when this form is opened i want to give focus to the first html:text field.

I've got a page that looks a little like this...
<input name="myField" id="myField" type="text"><br/>
<div id="output"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">

The basic behavior that I want is for the output text to match exactly what I'm typing in input field above. The problem is that my output field lags behind my input field by a single letter. (I type in "hello world" and the output field says "hello worl") I'm guessing maybe that at the time the keypress event is fired, the letter hasn't actually been entered yet into the form field, but I don't know for sure.
Is there any simple way to get my output field to match up with what's in my input field in the above code snippet? Workarounds I've thought of are a) using keyup instead of keypress (works, but feels laggy), or b) Converting the event keyCode into a letter and appending it onto the end of the string (seems more complicated than it ought to be)
I have this script where i call a jquery ajax to calclate something and then put it back in the form input so then i post everything to a php script where it insert it in mysql database. Here is the script :

And i would like to change value attribute of input field (for example only to file.txt but it doesn't matter). Is this possible? I'm browsing google 2 hours, but still didn't find nothing which works...If I had an id instead of class, it would be easy, but i have only class and I cant change this (its dynamically generated with framework i'm using).
PS. Int my html there are more input elements with class="text_field", it would be good to change them all.
First post, so go easy :-) Im trying to use conditional formatting to highlight input boxes on a form that contain certain characters:
