Do these functions include the height of an element's horizontal scrollbar (if present)? It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the jQuery documentation.

I have a website which displays photos. I want the photos to be resized depending on the innerWidth and innerHeight of the browser. I have my resolution set to 1024x768. So if you go to [URL] and click on 'Commissions' my 'w' variable in the URL contains 1024 but for some reason the 'h' variable displays 50. If I click on 'Commissions' one more time then it correctly displays h=602.

I've been using the page [URL] as my guide to innerWidth/innerHeight, to resize an open browser window when the content switches from form A to form B. innerWidth/innerHeight appears to work in all non-IE browsers, but of this subset, non-Mozilla browsers seem to keep these properties read-only. And yes, I know Firefox, Opera, and others can disable Javascript resize of windows, but I would like to make this work as often as possible.

My code is all about darkening out part of the browser window, making unclickable. I detect if the user is running IE, and if so, I don't use window.innerHeight because MS doesn't support anything. However, I have noticed an issue, and I believe it has to do with the "top" value. I've tried using window.screenY, but that didn't seem to solve my problem. You see, if you are running FF, it draws a box that starts in the top corner and only goes down as far as you can actually see on your browser.
Say you are scrolled down a little bit on the page, you can see the end of this box - it doesn't cover the entire page, only the part that is visible when the scrollbar is all the way up. I have included a picture to clarify what I'm talking about. The non-grayed out area is the area that would normally not be visible when the scrollbar is at the top. I would like to draw this box over the visible part of the page, no matter where you are scrolled. Right now, the box always draws from the very top of the page, even if that part isn't visible to the user.

This means if you copied the source you would be able to load it locally without any glitches from your computer. I want to embed a "Save As" feature into this document using only javascript or jquery. For various reasons I do not have access to a server-side language to perform this action. I've done some research but can't seem to find a definitive way to do this.
My goal:
User clicks "Save As HTML" button which triggers jquery to copy the source of the page and present it to the user as a mypage.html download. My fall back approach will be to open a new tab with just the desired html and instruct the user to manually "File -> Save As". However, this is very undesirable and I would like to find a solution to fulfill the goal above.
I am working on a UI that, when you click on a menu option, a div opens and show three divs inside. These divs all have different
heights. The heights are based on the divs content.The problem I'm having is... how do I measure what the divs height should be? IE, how do I grab the height for a div BEFORE it has had any style applied to it.
Trying to get the height of an element whose height is specified in the CSS.
So I am trying to animate the height of an item, where I have:

I was checking on jQuery plugins, but most of the scrollbar ones are using like 4 - 5 div classes just to stylize one scrollbar and most of the classes names must be specific to make it work with the plugin, is there any way to give some style to a scrollbar without doing all that coding?

I have a grid that I've tried to experiment with and it seems like no matter what setting I use, there is a vertical and a horizontal scrollbar. the only thing that changes is if it stretches to fill the its container div. How do I get it to fit within a specific width and also to not display scrollbars?

Does anyone knows a method to measure the scrollbar's width, which works in Safari/Chrome.
The innerWidth function doesn't seem to take the scrollbar's width into account when measuring the innerWidth of the child element of a scrollbared element.
Say I have a site that's centered on the page, and do $ ("#some_content").slideDown(). If the appearance of the new content means that the page no longer fits in the browser window, scrollbars will appear, and so the available page width decreases slightly, and so my centered content jumps left while it's sliding down. Is there a decent workaround for this? Best I can figure out at the moment is to persuade the browser to always display scrollbars, which isn't exactly ideal.

I want the javascript to ignore loading the css if a div tag like this: <div class="menu-opener"><a class="gwt-Anchor" href="javascript:">Text1<img src=..//img.jpg"></a> /div>contains the word Text1, or any other I specify. Else, if any other text inside the div, the css should load normally.
I want to install jQuery ScrollPane on my site(this one:[url])so I can use the scroll-pane plug-in to replace the ugly windows scrollbars.
Some simple questions:
If I want to use Google's jquery installation, is this all the code I need in my header?
Is there any way to easily test whether the jquery is installed correctly? i.e. a small piece of script that will tell you one way or another?
