All i want is a picture to fade in after it has loaded, i found the following script on this forum somewhere but the picture loads in normally then faded out, it doesnt just fade in and stop.

When to call a fadeIn function only after all of the elements (images) have been loaded perfectly. I set a function on document ready to fadeIn all divs of which class is "menu".

But, before all of the menu are images, if it is my first time to open the site. The fadeIn effect could not be seen becaue of the loading time needed for images, instead I only see they are loaded "partially" and one by one like usual.

I use JQuery's fade in and out effect on image. But it is not working on Firefox. It works on Safari, Chrome and IE.
I use jquery.1.4.1.js. When a button is clicked, current image fades out first and then new image fades in. It seems firefox does not accept fade in and out effect. What is the problem? The code is like [code]...

Strangely is... the loading Bar FadeIn effect come nicely. But when at line 73; when It reached success call, it never fading out.

Now I've probably butchered the code somewhere but it works fine in all browsers except IE (no surprise there then) where it doesn't fade in, it just pops up.
I am running into an effect issue with IE only. I have a <UL> with about 4 <LI> and I apply the fadeIn() on individual <LI> based on user actions. Inside of each <LI> I have a div that is styled with: -moz-opacity:.8; opacity:0.80; filter:alpha(opacity=80); The problem is that when I fadeIn() the <LI> all of its children elements' opacity is taken from 0 to 100%, AND THEN the div that is styled with the opacity is taken back to 80%. This causes sort of a flicker because it goes from 0% to 100% and then quickly back to 80%. Is there a way to get around this? Is that a known bug? I am trying to set up a jQuery carousel on my home page. I want it to operate by mouse - also auto scrolling, be horizontal, be circular, show one image at once.
I currently have three images to show one at a time in a containing div. All three images are showing together. One is in the container, in the right place, two others are shown below it. These two should be hidden in the carousel. The carousel itself, does not work. code...

image has been preloaded. There is a delay, like it's looking for the

Anyway, here is my problem. I have an image. When I call a function with onclick, I pass the image's id. My problem is that when I click the image, it displays "undefined". It is supposed to display the value of the image. It works perfectly fine in internet explorer. Its firefox that's giving me the problem. Can you guys give me the code for firefox so I can adjust? However, it's all blank or, only the menu showed up in IE6 & IE7. I am not sure in IE8 & IE9 as I don't have them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to preload over 300 small images. I am using a local developement server at this point and testing in IE. As the user interacts with the page many different images will be appear and dissapper for them. It needs to be smooth. I was noticing that the status bar at the bottom of IE keeps saying the images are being loaded. So I thought I would try preloading the images. After implementing the following code, the IE status bar seems to still show that the images are loading each time and I havent noticed any improvement in load times. Could it be that the images are not really being preloaded? Here is the code I am using to preload (it is triggered by onload in the body tag:
imageObj = new Image(width, height);
imageObj.src = "images/pp1234.png"
my actual code repeats the second line many times in a loop with different image names, but this is the most basic for of my code and it results in the same problem. Are there known issues with IE and preloading?
