What I mean is this: the "who is using" list is usually comprised of websites - Google, Dell.com, etc. What I'm trying to find is a closed source, enterprise example of jQuery usage...a Paid version of WordPress, for example.
I understand the MIT license, but I'm having a hard time selling my managers on moving to including jQuery in our product, so I'm really fighting for examples to get us started.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis isn't really a beginner question. I need to build a webpage that has some form elements on it. These form elements act like filters on a set of page elements. Several input element can be grouped as one of many filters. For example six checkboxes are filter 1 and a radiobutton and a pulldown element are filter 2.
When the user makes some changes in these filters a server request is send and an answer is send back with the result. Depending on the result every filter (group of elements) need to be re-initialized to reflect the new model state on the server.
So my question is: Is it right to see the filters as widgets in a Jquery UI sense? Or is it more appropriate to just see them as plugins. Can someone please share some insight?
I have an application developed using jQuery1.2.3 and I currently have issues with printing a pre-defined area of a page within the application.I found the solution in the jQuery Plugin - PrintArea but it's not compattible with jQuery 1.2.x. The introduction of PrintArea and jQuery 1.3.2 to my app throws errors like "exception thrown and not caught - Query1.3.2.js" and "object does not support this property or method - on the line where I'm calling the printArea function".

I was wondering if anyone knew of code like this that handled embedded lists that would work like an Outline
I currently have a standard .NET grid in my application and am considering a few options. I could replace the grid with divs so the current rows would be like posts in a forum. Or replace the .NET grid with the new jQurey grid, that way I would gain a whole lot of functionally!
My question is can a grid be modified so that the rows are about 11/2 inches tall and be formated to show several lines of text? I want them to show 2 business names, addresses and some details gotten from a form.

I can't seem to get the row striping working with my application. The table data is being pulled in via AJAX and for some reason that is interfering with the striping code. It's hard to debug also because the table info doesn't show up in a view source.

I am trying to put together a Adobe Air Application that is basically a RSS feeder for my blog (custom made). I have the Air application all design and coded on the front end in terms of how it looks. My problem now is that I dont know how to get that XML document to my Air application using jQuery. Is the first time I try to use this wonderful library so I'm still a little naive Right now I'm having a problem that I have no idea how to solve. Documentation, google, etc have been useless for me in this point (probably because I'm not searching the right terms) So I'm creating an invitation system: simply, a form where you put an email address and when you hit submit it makes an ajax call. The server should answer with some data such 'how many invitations the user have left', possible errors and (if in development enviroment) the url for the invitation (debuggin purposes), everything coded in json.
The problem is that sometimes when sending an invitation firefox pops me up with a download dialog suggesting to save an "application/json" file with all the data that the server processed. My jQuery script should be taking care of handling it and it is not. I have told Rails to render the answer in json format: render :json => message.to_json message is a hash with a format similar to {:error => "There was an error, sorry", :invitations_left => current_user.invitations_left} And I have also specified jQuery the type expected in the return of the call:

I have an application that is using Classic ASP, SQL server and cookies. But unless the user goes all the way through the application and the details are removed, they stay in the database.
How can I detect when they close the browser or move away to another web url. I have several pages in my app, so I dont want any unload event firing when I change pages.
Only when I move to another website completely or close the browser.
All the code I've seen on the net so far will fire if i change url's. Oh and I need to be able to access the Session's data in order to remove it from the database.
I have been using jQuery for only a few weeks now, replacing all of my standard js in a massive Intranet PHP application with lovely and space-saving jQuery. However, I've been using FF to write and test code while the company standard is IE6. Nothing works in IE6 - nada, zip, zilch. It bugs out on the very first call to the js file and wants me to begin debugging. Am I correct in assuming that I'm going to have to go back to regular js? I'd love to get the company to upgrade to IE7 - I've not seen ANY complaints about IE7 and jQuery.

My problem is, I have a php application using several jquery effects. I've just started learning ajax and it is going really well, this stuff is incredible! But all the ajax loaded data loses the jquery effects. I get that it is a DOM issue, and I've seen that others have used "live" (i think?) to fix this, but I honestly just have no understanding of how toimplementanything that I'm seeing.

I have been away from development for a while and I'm looking for a way to get back into it. I have two questions:
1) Is the choice of javascript framework independent of the choices of all the other application parts like the object-relational mapping layer, the app server, etc? Right now, I'm looking at JQuery, and ExtJS.
2) Does anyone know where I can get a complete sample application made of open source parts and using all the best practices that I can just copy to get started?
And I mean complete... as if a real life functioning enterprise the likes of Google just zipped up their whole open-source production and development hard drives and made it all available for people to download, unzip, and run... mysql database, bug tracking system, build system, version control, connection pooling services, web server, app server, javascript libraries, internationalization resources, configured IDE, etc. etc. All of everything configured and wrapped up in a single zip file ready to go with just a few changes to IP addresses and passwords. From that we could just change things to build our own first app.I've tried getting started with a bunch of different open source application stacks and I always get stuck. And every time it happens I wonder why I can't just copy someone's entire web development folder. It's open-source and it's just ones and zeroes. Why can't we just copy it and skip the setup process and the time of figuring out best practices on our own?

I know this sounds so stupid, but it's a project that I am working on. I need to develop an application where people can upload a picture of themself and then it will add a wig to their picture over their hair.I just don't know how the code scans the uploaded photo and finds where to add the wig to the picture. The program will be really simple. No choice of wigs there is just one wig and as soon as the picture is uploaded the wig should be added and then displayed.
