I am creating a JS function that takes a time input in minutes only and divides that number by an inputted digit. I would like to know how we use Javascript to convert that result into minutes and seconds.For instance, 30 (1800 seconds) divided by 4 = 450 seconds. How do I show that as 7:30? I can divide by 60 to get 7.5, but I don't know how to go from there. I got as far as the following, then got stuck.
PHP Code:

I am trying to extract just a single digit character from a string.
my string is 'constructions-01_0'
I want to extract the very last character, the 0.
how do I do this?
Should I use String.match() or String.split() methods or is there another method I shoud use?
And what should the regExp be to get that last digit?
also separately I want to get the double digit and put that into another string, the 01.
How do I extract just that bit?
hours = 59;
int num1 = hours / 10;
int num2 = hours % 10;

I've wrote a very similar function that works perfect but no matter what i do here, the result is always the same. I can't seem to enter a 2 digit number in the second box for weight and therfore won't work. It seems to work fine for up to 9 lbs though.

Here is what I'm trying to do. I have a 12-digit
(UPC-A) javascript validation script which works great. All I need now
is a similar script for 8-digit (UPC-E) type script? I don't want to
convert it to a 12-digit UPC-A before validating it as a 12-digit
number. I would prefer to just be able to calc the number, as an
8-digit number, check digit and all, just like I am currently doing
successfully with this 12-digit validation script: Code:
I am trying to send a form value (a 15 digit number) to an external URL, so that the URL populates with the form value and opens in a new window when the user hits submit on the form.
The external URL that the form links to is in this format:[url]
Is there a piece of JS I can use that will populate the ORDERNUMBER field with the 15 digit form value when the user hits submit?
Generate a series of 13 digit numbers and output them to a text file.

a.) specify two parameters for the changeYear function: today and holiday.
function changeYear(today)(holiday){
b.) in the first line of the above function, use the getFullYear() date method to extract the 4-digit value from the today variable and store the value in a variable named year.
first line
c.) in the second line; use the setFullYear() date method to set the full year of the holiday date object to the value of the year variable.
second line
d.) in the third line, use a conditional operator on the year variable. The test condition is whether the value of the holiday date object is less than the today date object. If it is, this means that the event has already passed in the current year and the value of the year variable should be increased by 1.
third line
e.) in the fourth line of the function, again set the full year value of the holiday date object to the value of the year variable.
I ran into this issue yesterday, and no matter what I try I can't seem to get it work correctly.
I need to parse out single quotes from a field, and replace them with double quotes, so it doesn't blow up later, like it did yesterday.
I've tried using regex, but I'm sure its not the correct syntax.
javascript Code:
document.all.SalesOrderForm.ShipNote1.value = document.all.SalesOrderForm.ShipNote1.value.replace(/'/g,""");
document.all.SalesOrderForm.ShipNote1.value = document.all.SalesOrderForm.ShipNote1.value.replace(/'/g,""");
I know that using <a href="javascript:"> and <sometag onclick=""> is evil, but in this particular situation it is quite hard to avoid it due to external powers Anyway here is the issue itself : putting javascript strings inside HTML attributes :
Code:
<button onclick="DoSomething('string')">
Everything is fine until there are single or double quotes INSIDE the 'string' value. Having a double quote inside the string, even JS escaped leads to the onclick argument value being cut :
Code:
<button onclick="DoSomething('str"ing')">
If you replace the double quote by '"' then you don't get a double quote inside DoSomething (you could always replace " by " in JS).
Similar problem if you choose to enclose the onclick argument in single quotes and happen to have a single quote JS escaped inside the string.So, is there any other way of dealing with potential presence of single AND double quotes in the 'string' value, other than replacing them before by ' and " and then replacing them back inside DoSomething ?
am writing a function in js that requires me to assign an javascript value to an html element. But I am stuck at a point where I have to assign document.write value to embed object.
function ytEmbedPlayer(videoUrl,w,h){
var flashvars = {};
var params = {allowFullScreen:'true',wmode:'transparent'};
params.allowscriptaccess = "always";

I am having issue here were, I have to print videoUrl value as an embed src.
<embed src="document.write(videoUrl)"
I think I am messing up with the single quote and double quote.
Ok know those people who are in the bad habit of double clicking everything? Well my site breaks if they double click it...
is there a script I can use that won't let my functions run more then once every so many seconds? to avoid double clicking errors?
Here is my link [url]. I have two button "Add Single" and "Add Double".What I want is that when I press the "Add Single" a new row add with the single drop down list and when I press "Add Double" I would like to have the row with two drop down list. How to achieve this ? In the begining must I hide both the rows is it? Now I have the relevant function ready for both buttons but I do not know how to add the rows accordingly. Finally I also want to make sure all the dropdown list values selected is different.

Unfortunately it goes wrong when the user double clicks on a one of many text links that provides the info for the display on reload. How do I stop users from double clicking on the page? Ideally I think I would like to call some sort of js function from body onload as I presume this would then cover the whole of the page, but have no idea if this is possible or how to go about writing it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a program which converts some letters into different ones.
1) I want 2 text areas (input and output) + "convert" button
2) if I type in the input area the letters "ea" I would like it to be converted into "a", so that If I type "cambrea" and press "submit" the output text will have "cambra".
3) if I type "e " which is (e+space) I want it to be converted into " " which is "space" example: if I type the word "spine " it should be converted into "spin , note that there is a space after "spin ".
4) If I type any vowel before "o" it should render "o", example: gambuo becomes gambo.
would this be possible? I'm not very familiar with Javascript even though I can modify it.
