View 1 RepliesI have got a page on my website which has a log-in button, when this button is clicked I want a window to pop-up which enables the user the login. After the have typed in their username and password and it has been confermed I want the popup window to close.Now I know this bit is possible, but I would like to take it further if possible:This leaves the user on the page where they clicked the log-in button. After the log-in window closes I want this page to change to another page (not loading another window). SO at the end of it the user hasn't had to open or close any windows and they end up with only one window open.
I know the first bit is possible but I am not sure about the second bit.I would like to know if this is possible and how to do it.
I'm using the following commands in a javascript popup window link and it hides everything but the status bar. Can someone tell me what's wrong? I've only tested it in Firefox and the status bar keeps appearing.
width=250,height=150,scrollbars=0,status=0,resizable=0
There are no problems with the following image loading code fragment
and window.status assigments/updates in IE but in Firefox window.status
fails to update. Any suggestions?
(function imageLoader() {
for (i=0; i <= 358; i+=2) {
imgSRC = 'cue'+i+'.gif'
cues[i] = new Image();
cues[i].cnt = 0;
cues[i].onload = imagesToLoad(i);
cues[i].onerror = createErrorHandler(imgSRC);
cues[i].src = imgSRC;
}
})();
function imagesToLoad(i) {
return function () {
if ((i += 2) <= 358) window.status = (179 - (i>>1)) + ' images left
to load.'
else window.status = 'image loading completed.'
}}
function createErrorHandler(imgSRC) {
return function () {
this.src = (this.cnt++ < 3)? imgSRC : 'missing.gif'
}}
I am trying to open a popup window on clicking a link. It works fine, but all I need now is to disable the address/URL bar from the window for all browsers. I am using the below script...
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function popup(url)
{
var width = 600;
var height = 400;
var left = (screen.width - width)/2;
var top = (screen.height - height)/2;
[Code]....
I want to hide address bar for pop up window. I have used following script. In Linux machine its working fine. But in Windows machine address bar still displaying.
This is the code
<script>
function openNewWindow(url) {
window.open (url,"",'width=620,height=300,scrollbars=yes,menubar=no,location=no');
}
[Code]....
I have a link
<a href="#" onclick="popup()" onMouseOver="window.status='http://www.google.com'; return true">Click here</a>
I want to open popup on clicking link and onmouseover the link i want to show url in status bar .if i give it in href then onclicking it open the new window and submit the parent window
i use mouseover function to give status bar url it work in IE7 but not in mozilla
How can I create a popup window in a form without showing the status, menubar, location and with width of 502 and height 550?
I was doing something like this, it will popup a window, but I do not want to show the status, menubar, location, etc. The form is submitted to other site.
<form action="http://www.otherdomain.com/preview.php" target="_blank">
<input type="text" name="value" size="20">
<input type="hidden" name= "1" value="1">
</form>
Any idea?
cannot get a new (picture) window to open in Firefox without the title and address bars (or anything else, just the image). IE shows just the title bar, with or without the code:
function newWindow()
{window.open('./pageaddress.html','winname','top=20,left=20,directories=0,titlebar=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,width=400,height=350');}
</script>
The window opens fine, but always shows the address and title bars. I have read the W3 Schools options list (and other posts) and tried both 'no' and '0' as values, without any success. What am I missing and is there any way to make this work - it didn't even work in the W3 Schools 'try it yourself' test page!
I have seen some very nice 'slowly-opening' windows (increasing in size)
1. the 1st popup should open automatically and open a URL 1
2. then after 30sec the popup should close
3. then 2nd pop up window should appear and open URL2
4. then after 30sec the popup should close and so on
can any body help me with this please. I really need it.Or it can be like this also,The 1st popup should open automatically and open a URL1 then, after 30sec it should open URL2 and after 30 sec open URL3 and so on in the same popup.
I'm relatively new to javascript. I want to create an editable text window popup. Upon writing a free text the user should have an option to save or clear the text. He should be able to save the text in a predefined location locally. How can this be done in javascript.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhey when i open a popup window by javascript it is an usual window though some customizable like whether displaying menubar, displayed position and some other options. but i want to createpopup windows like facebook popup windows which is nice,thin and immovable.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a login area (user/pass text
boxes). when the user submits the form, the page is reloaded with with
a global php variable "loggedIn" set to true. i also store the
username and password in the page in a hidden form -- so that it can be
passed to other pages on the site through standard navigation
(maintaining the "loggedIn" status). however, is there any way to save
this information if the user hits refresh?
as it stands, whenever the
user hits refresh, the user/pass data is lost, and loggedIn is set to
false. can this be worked around without using cookies?
I am having a particular problem with my Javascript page, which should change the form that the user is at. Need to proofread my code to check for errors? The code does not change the form (Also it does not run the PHP page, or at least does not display its output in the loginStatus div):
<html>
<head>
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<title>
PHP Hardcoded Login Script!
</title>
<script>
function processLogin(form) {
var user = form.user.value;
var pass = form.pass.value;
var url = "processLogin.php?user=" + user + "&pass=" + pass;
if (window.XMLHttpRequest)
{// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
}
else
{// code for IE6, IE5
xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
} .....
Why this is not working? The page running this code can be found at: [URL]
Another page without the signup form (that works) is at:
[URL]
The login for the pages is:
user: john_doe
pass:password
I need help with resizing a popup window in firefox. Currently, I use a JS script to open a popup window, and then resize the window to the size of the image. It works perfectly in IE, but not as well in Firefox.
Funny thing is it does work as expected with some images. The code is identical for every image I use this for, so I cannot figure out why it is not resizing correctly. Code:
I am trying to apply it to my page. But when I click on a thumbnail, although it's opening a pop-up window, it also enlarges the image in the current browser.I also need to do the same thing with a .swf file. How can I have a flash movie enlarge when clicked?

I would like to use several jQuery effects through a website that I am developing; a login popup, a drop down contact form, coda content scroller, and tabbed content. However, these implementations keep interfering with each other. Is there any way to get around this? I seems as though there must be a way to use multiple jQuery functions.
The page is here: [url] Implementing the Login Popup (which doesn't have a login form inside it yet) broke the contact drop down, and it stays revealed now. The tabbed content in the sidebar seems fine though.
Something already broke my coda jQuery content scroller here: [url]
I read about window object and specifically about creating popup windows. The code below produces a popup window when a link is clicked:
Code JavaScript:
var Survey =
{
init: function()
{
var surveyLink = document.getElementById("survey");
Core.addEventListener(surveyLink, "click", Survey.clickListener);
},
[Code]....
I would like to add a "Close Window" button on survey.html page and when that button is clicked, the window would close. How do I do that? I know that I should use (reference to popup window).close(), but how and where do I attach even listener to that button?
I am adding code to a SharePoint 2007 list where I want a calculated field to be a colored square based on a status column.I have all the code I need to create a colored round bullet, but I would like the bullet to be square or a rectangle.I was not able to find a repalcement for the "bull" in the below code.
arr[i].innerHTML = "<DIV title='Long Term Focus' style='font-weight:bold; font-size:24px; color:green'>•</DIV>";
My client wants me to have a pop up with the login and password to autorize users. When the correct l/p is entered I want to close the pop up and load the page within the parent window. How could I do that? I have looked at Mike Foster xlib library bur I can only see the code to create the pop up. How could I close it and load a certain url in the parent windwo?

I found his basic code online for a popup login but I don't know how to get the information from it either into php variables or whatever i need to do code...
I put the css on a separate page and just copied the login link and the javascripts. I don't know how to get the information into php variables so i can check it with the database.
I know I'm just asking for the answer but I don't know javascript and i don't want to spend a month learning it just for a login form. If your going to just say go learn javascript then don't post .
