The fadeOut is not working...
What is wrong in my code?
the following does not work in IE8, but it works in Firefox (the text fadeOut and then in):
function
blink(oldValue, newValue, selector) {
if (oldValue != newValue) {

I actually have a JSP page with this basic HTML elements;
<div style="display:none;" id="loadingBar">
<img src="images/loading-big.gif" alt="loading"/> </div>
<div style="display:none;" id="result"></div>
And then the JQUERY with these source code;
var content;
var dataString = "ha";
$( function() {
$.validator.addMethod("username", function(value, element) {
return this.optional(element) || /^[a-z0-9\_]+$/i.test(value);
}, "UserID: only letters, numbers, or underscore.");
$('#userAccountForm').validate();
$('input').focus( function() {
content = $(this).val();
if(content=='- none -') {
$(this).val("");
}});
$('input').blur( function() { .....
Strangely is... the loading Bar FadeIn effect come nicely. But when at line 73; when It reached success call, it never fading out.
$('#loadingBar').fadeOut("slow");
Is this line not working when it came into success portion or.... there's something wrong with my source code? I confused ....
I am using fadein and out of jquery, but size of jquery file is high for me. so i should replace it.do anyone know, how can i write fadein and fadeout functions? is anyone know its source code?

I am working on my site and I am finding trouble getting my thumbnails to open the larger images when clicked. It only seems to work with the first thumbnail, but I can't figure out why.Here is the code I am working with:

This code is supposed to find all table rows with a class of "selected", remove that class, then find all checked inputs that are descendants of a tr and give its tr a class of selected. The problem is, that even radio boxes that are not checked are being returned by $(' tr input:checked', '#deviceSelection') and everything is getting a class of selected. Anyone know whats wrong? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1

Below code is in html
<div id="firstdiv">
<input type="text" class="cal"/>
</div><input type="button"/>
Below is in head tag
$(function() {
$('.cal').datetimepicker();
});
Following in .js file
$(document).ready(
function(){ /* here goes the code for div clone*/
$addTripBtn.click(
function(){ var $firstCal = $copydiv.find(':text');
$($firstCal).bind('click', function() {
$('.cal').datetimepicker();//$('$firstCal').datetimepicker();
});
I have textboxes in div wherein onclick I get a calender popup. Now I have to repeat this div on button click for which I used clone() method. Repeating div content is working fine but when I click cloned textbox for calender it is not working.

$(document).ready(function() {
$('.extra_btn').click(function() {

I am quite happy to stay put using v 1.2.6 but with new bits requiring v 1.3.2 etc I would quite like to know why this isn't working when I use jQuery above 1.2.6. There are a few different things going on.

After adding some lines of validation from Jorn's validate plugin, the addcar button on IE suddenly won't work, then safari is working, but not displaying updating properly after the animation, it will appear as if broken, but if you scroll up scroll down, then it would update. Chrome and firefox is okay.
Here is the button click code
$('#addvehicle').bind('click',function(){
//ajax
$.ajax ({
type: "POST",
url: "addmorecar",
data: "sessionid=" + $("#sessionid").val(),
success: function(data){
$("#regaddcar").html(data).addClass('ui-widget ui-widget-content');
$("#regaddcar").fadeIn();
$("#addvehicle").attr('disabled','disabled').css('color','#CCCCCC');
}});
return false;
}); // end of the on click add vehicle function .....

I have two drop-down listboxes on a page. One listbox is visible and named sParent the other is suppose to be hidden and is named sChild. There are only 2 option values in the sParent listbox and they are vParent and vChild. If the user chooses the vChild option from the sParent listbox, than the second listbox named sChild is suppose to become visible, but if the users chooses any other option value or no option value at all from the sParent listbox the sChild listbox is to remain hidden. Below is the jquery code I am using, and below that is my html code:

I am a newbee and with the help of you all and google reseach and w3schools I have made the below jQuery Ajax method work fine with my data in xml (all the chapters of a childrens book). Now I am constructing a new page, just sample chapters, and I want to use json and 'get' it the same way as I did with xml. 1. I am hung up a little, firstly, this code below is not getting anything from the chap_0.json which
is in the same directory so not a path problem file, 2. and secondly I am not sure just how different the code below needs to be to use the data from the .json file vs the xml file. If someone can atleast help me get the .json data to come in (problem 1) , I have been struggling with it for several hours now. Here is the working xml code:

I have a website that lists the movies I have on my computer and then when you click on a link for that movie, it retrieves information from IMDB. The code is in testing but for the most part it works.I was wondering if anyone knew why the following JavaScript would work on Firefox but not in IE. I develop on Linux, and I know there are IEs available for Linux, and I have used them before. I will be sure to track down the issue later, but from the resources I've been using, this should work in both major browser types (standards compliant and microsoft).The code is very dirty, and I have started an object oriented rewrite, but if I don't have the proper DOM skills for IE in this spaghetti code then I doubt anything is going to change putting it all into Objects.

I'm running into a problem in which I have a nav menu that allows you to click on menu items (about, links, etc) and this makes a corresponding content div fade in and the others fade out. I set all the content divs to initially display: none; which works, but the problem is that when I click on a nav item for the first time since page refresh, all the content pokes through and then fades out, rather than just the one I want fading in. The selected div stays visible, but I want to get rid of this problem!
View 8 Replies View RelatedIf I change all my code to use css() instead of trying to change img tags with the attr() function, I need to figure out how fadein and fadeout work. The code I have now doesn't work right. It is supposed to start with 1.jpg showing and then fade that out and show 2.jpg in it's place.
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#imgbox").fadeOut(5000);
$(".imgbox2").fadeIn(5000, function(){

When I leave out the fadein of the new image the first image appears and then fades out like it should but when I add the fadeout function it displays the second image and then fades it out even though it is the inner div with a class instead of the outer div with id which should display the first image.
Small probs at getting started with jquery: i want to have boxes called "employ-big", wich appear on hover "employ" and dissapear on mouseleave. And i tried the following, with one small prob - the removeClass-call comes to early:
This is the HTML incl. jquery and css:
The problem is, that the employ-big-DIV changes the z-index direcly after mouseleave wich is not very nice. Is it possible to removeClass after fadeOut is finished? And is the way i tried to show my divs the right and elegant way in jquery? I tried it also with hover, but didn't work well, so i decided this way!
Suggestions about my removeClass-probs? The main prob is, when there is a second row of Divs "employ", the shown employ-big falls back to early to z-index:1 wich doesn't look nice...
The Idea is to get something similar like the product-categories on [url]
