View 5 RepliesI have two methods and I would like to call somename1 method from within somename2 method. I have tried several ways to do so however I keep getting "TypeError" or "RefernceError" I have tried several ways to reference but I am still unable. What am I doing wrong. I would think this would be easy to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:
<head>
$(function() {
//function for selecting all or none...is there a way to make a single function that passes in a parameter to differentiate between selecting all or selecting none, or do I need a separate function for both?[code]....
I have a button and when I click on the button I want to reload my DatePicker accordingly and launch the beforeShowDay event of the datePicker from my click event. How can I do that? How to set the DatePicker date to the ListDate[0] date?

I attempted to invoke a C# method using jQuery but it failed. The reason is because the method cannot be found. However the method exist in the class. Did I miss something?

How to call a method from JS through UpdatePanel with jQuery? I cant call WebMethod cause it is static (I have a custom control and it is statically inaccessible).
What I have: Custom control on a ASP.NET website in UpdatePanel
What I need: User clicks on a link and JS does its magic and than I have to post (AJAX) changes to server (custom control). How do I achieve this with UpdatePanel (I cant jQuery ajax call) - how can I call a method on server with some arguments from JS?
I am using an webservice(.net) to do some database related operations. I would like to call a method from this webservice to return an xml file. At the client side I want to use jquery to call this webservice by passing json object. How will I do this? In success method is it possible to get the xml file as returned value from the webservice?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am calling an AJAX function from a certain method, but for any reason it does not return the result.
The JSON object is "Records". The URL is build within another method and properly passed (as I can see in Firebug)[code]...
I have the following code in one of my pages. My problem is caused, because the method "processEvent" is never called, but I have no idea why. I guess it is broken, because I don't relay the "this" object correctly.
<script type="text/javascript">
var MyClass = function()
{
this.init = function()

I'm using jquery-1.3.2.min.js and everything works perfectly in browsers other than Explorer... It's not liking this part:
this.appendChild(E)
function(){return this.domManip(arguments,true,function(E){if(this.nodeType==1){this.appendChild(E)}})} ... }
I get this error:Unexpected call to method or property access. jquery-1.3.2.min.js, line 12 character 2305
I have a jQuery script which works fine online, but when it comes to testing locally I get this error on the 2nd line of code:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'hide' of null
So, that means I'm trying to call a method on something that doesn't exist, or is set to null. But I'm trying to call the method on anything with the class menu. And there are divs with the class menu on my page. The script runs fine on several other pages, so it must have something to do with this page in particular, but I have no idea why...
Here's my HTML:
Code:
<div id="navigation">
<ul id="navbar">
<li><a href="[URL]">Home</a></li>
<li><a class="drop-down" href="#">Food Menu</a></li>
<li><a class="drop-down" href="#">Drinks Menu</a></li>
<li><a href="gallery.html.php">Gallery</a></li>
<li><a href="function.html.php">Function Room</a></li>
<li><a href="contact.php">Contact Us</a></li>
</ul>
<div id="drinks" class="menu"> .....
And my jQuery script:
Code:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('.menu').hide();
$('a, #header').not('.drop-down, .menu a').hover(function(){
$('.menu').hide();
});
$('.drop-down').mouseenter(function(){
$('.menu').hide();
id=($(this).text().toLowerCase().replace(' menu', ''));
$('#' + id).show();
});
$('.menu').mouseleave(function(){
$('.menu').hide();
});});
I've put up the page online, but I don't have a direct link to it because it's a live site. You can see the code working here: The Pilot, and the offending page is here: The Gallery.
im not able to figure out why my jQuery ajax call isnt working but my old JS method is? [code]
View 2 Replies View RelatedI searched here and some other places on the net but cant find anything that suits my needs. I have a SELECT box with 3 values Code:
<form name="form1">
<select name="length">
<option name="length" value="none">--Select for All--</option>
<option name="length" value="5">--5 Days--</option>
<option name="length" value="7">--7 Days--</option>
<option name="length" value="10">--10 Days--</option>
</select>
</form>
OnChange, I want to invoke a function that auto populates the rest of the SELECT fields in the form. The select boxes will vary in quantity as the page is dynamic, but the values are always the same (like the code above).
Does this make sense?
Can a OnChange event call a PHP function?
Currently an OnChange event on a listbox I want to pass the value (a path) to a PHP function.
Not sure if this can be done...
Currently I have captured the path... now I need to get the path into a PHP Function!
Here is the html:
<select name="activities_limit" id="activities_limit">
<option value="5" selected="selected">5</option>
<option value="7">7</option>
<option value="10">10</option>
<option value="14">14</option>
</select>
And the jQuery:
$("#activities_limit").bind("change", function() { alert("value changed"); });
I am not seeing the JavaScript alert though.
I have a button which creates a clone of the current row. Within each row is a drop down box for which the users can select red or yellow, which represent soccer cards. Based on that selection it calls a function which populates a div tag with the appropriate drop down options for that card color. The problem I am having is that the function is updating all div tags with the drop down selections and not the one for my current row. Please note that the drop down selection box is not guaranteed to be the last row in the table. The referee could go back and realize, that he or she made a mistake and make a change to the second row. So I need this to always be applicable to the current row of editing.

I'm building a form in PHP. One of the fields needs to generate information based on another selected input. The first input is for "phase" and based on that I need to count how many entries there are in the database for that phase, then display posible positions(ie 1 per entry including the entry being edited/added). I know that this can't be done with only PHP.
I don't work with Javascript normally so I am struggling. I have read many similar topics, but can't find the answer I am looking for.
I thought that the solution could be to call an include file when a selection for phase is made, but I don't know how to pass the information to the PHP script.
I'd prefer not to have to reload the page or form.
Here's the code that I have so far:
Code:
<html>
<head>
<body>
<form action="edit-category.php?id=<?php echo $id; ?>" method="post"
[Code]....
I have a <div> like
<div id="test2">
Name : <input type="text" name="test3">
<select name="test4">
<option>A</option>
<option>B</option>
<option>C</option>

My requirement is on change of any contol inside div i want to call a javascript function.
1) how can i give absolute url to call GetDate method of default.aspx page?the problem is that, if my page is in a folder and accessing the Default.aspx page method.then it give error object not found, because my Default.aspx page is out side of the folder in which folder page it accessing the Default page method.
2) Is it possible to call a method which is in a class(not a .aspx page)or in a master page of .NET(method declared as Web Method)?
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "Default.aspx/GetDate",
[code]....
I have a table that contains a select element like so
<tr><td>key value in hidden input</td><td><select>options</select></
td></tr>
I need to set
$("selectclass").change(function() {
//Find the value of hidden input in 1st cell of row of the select
list that was changed.
});
So when a user changes the option of the select i need to get the new value the option has been changed to plus the value from the hidden input and submit them via ajax to a method on the server. How can i get the hidden inputs value?
I'm quite new to jQuery but love learning new tricks. I have a search box with a labelOver applied for the hint text and a select dropdown with 4 options. I would like to change the hint text depending on which option is selected.
Eg if the user selects "People" the hint text will read "eg. John Smith", if they pick "Year" the hint text will read "1985".
THIS WORKS:
<html><head><script type="text/javascript">
function recalc() {
alert ('Entering recalc().');
}
[Code]....
The first example works, which shows that the recalc function can be called. The second example works, which shows that onchange will trigger an alert box. BUT, the third example doesn't work. Why can't I trigger a call to the recalc function from the onchange event?
The above 3 code postings are the entire programs. Nothing has been left out or modified.
I am using IE 8.0.6001.18702.
