Anyway, I'm interested in discussion of the following problem:I have a collection of divs each with their own numerical id that i use for ordering. They look like something like this:
<div class = "note" noteId = "1">...
<div class = "note" noteId = "4">...
<div class = "note" noteId ="23">...
I already know that you can combine multiple attribute selectors, &&-style, by doing:
$("*[name='someName'][value='someValue']"); However, what I was wondering is, is there any way to combine multiple attribute selectors, ||-style, such that I could select: $("*[name='someName'][value='someValue']").add("*[name='someName'] [value='someOtherValue']");
I've got the following code (from this tutorial:[url]
thisItem = $(this).attr('rel');
Then I create HTML for navigation:
And it works perfect but only when I use single category for rel="". In this case rel="abc" works and rel="abc abc2" doesn't work.
There must be something with $('.pf_item li[rel!='+thisItem+']') but since I don't know jQuery I can't solve it myself. I just want to change this line into something that is able to work with multiple attributes in rel.
Each anchor is unique, but the title attribute may match the exact title of one or more images. Where a match is found, either once or more, the title text is copied - once - into the anchor element.
I want to create an associative array dynamically pulling the index values from an array (propertyArray); Associative array is created inside create function and then returned. But after it is returned, I cant use index names to retrieve values. It returns undefined as below code shows.
Code JavaScript:
var propertyArray=["a","b","c"]; function create(){ var array=[];
function read() { var numbers = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < field.length; i++) numbers[i] = document.test.checkboxName.value; var counter=0;
[Code]...
I want to read the values of the checkboxs and store the vlaues into an array (there are more than 1 checkboxs) the form name is text and the names of the check box = checkboxname
This one is throwing me off! Either I am making a stupid mistake or I'm doing it totally wrong I have an array, and I am trying to select unique values from it and assign it to another array. Here is the code:
Code: var flag; for (i=0;i<=pdfs.length-1;i++) { flag = 1; for (j=0;j<=pdfs2.length-1;j++)
[Code]...
The problem is that the if (pdfs2[j] == pdfs[i]) statement ends up never being true. There are URL's to pdf files in the array. On the other side, if there is a much easier way to select unique values from an array, please feel free to point it out.
I need to copy input (checkbox) values from a form inside my iframe to the form in my parent frame using javascript and I'm not sure how to modify my current code to accomplish this! I'm using cold fusion to display the values from a database inside the iframe. Once all the values are loaded into the iframe, I need to be able to select as many as necessary and then submit the form from the parent frame which then runs a report that utilizes those values, but I can't do that because my code is written so that the values load in the iframe form and the action to run the report that requires those values is executed from the form in my parent frame. Here are the code snipits:
Main "Parent" Frame Code
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <cfparam name="WordFlag" default="0"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
[Code]....
I'm thinking that loading the values into some sort of hidden comma delimited string structure in the parent frame would do the trick, if I'm on the right track, how would I go about doing that?
From the code given below, I think it's pretty obvious what problem I'm having, but I'll explain:
Javascript is only returning HTML DOM attribute values when they are assigned by the javascript function, not when they are assigned by CSS. So, if I set the background colour of a div using CSS, then try to call that attribute value, JS doesn't return it, BUT, if I then assign a new value using JS, it can correctly read the attribute value.
What am I doing wrong? Or can javascript not pull HTML DOM attribute values assigned by CSS?[code]...

Let's say I want an array of all the values for checked checkboxes onmy page. How do I do this?This:$('input:checkbox:checked').val()..only returns the first value. Is there a function that will return ajavascript array of values?
I wish to get its values into an array in jquery. I know i can use each or map to do this with the class name as a selector. How can i do it using its name only.
how can i store all values returned by each() into an array automatically
var val = $('input[name=qty[]').each( function() { return this.value; });
I have a phpsubmission form that I am passing the values to another php page that inserts the field values from the submission form. So I added a JQuery function on my submission page like so.
I have a form where I click a button and it duplicates the inputs thus now having X of the same inputs. The input name looks like so: <select id="select" name="cs_quantity[]"> Is there a way I can check the all values of the quantity before submitting the form? I want to make sure they've chosen a quantity other than 0.
I have some PHP code that currently works by; creating an array 'values[indexed by ID's of packets]' as the name tag in the form below. (forget the syntax ive removed alot to fit in this post) the important thing to see if Input Types are in a loop at there can be any number of them, the text fields are put in an array which is indexed by $packet['piid']
When the values are posted to my PHP script I can run through the array with the code
This all works, my problem is how would I use JQuery to control the script below to pick up the array <select name="importance[<?php echo $answer['aid']; ?>]"> so that it can be passed to my PHP script?
Each Answer in the loop has a selectmenu so they can choose how important that answer it is to them. They can be of variable length thats why its in a loop.
This is the code I have so far
How can I index each answerID with with a importance value and pass the array to PHP. I dont want to make the array in JQuery, there must be an easier way of passing this? Like in the first example at the top.
i have found a possible bug in 1.4 but it's only in Internet Explorer 7 & 8.The following code does not work and completely ruins every peice of jquery on the page (that means everything inside $(document).ready and anyting else...
I cant see any syntax errors - i pulled the example from the 1.4 site. There is no trailing commas in the object notation and i really cant see any reason it would work in firefox and not IEx and more to the point not only not work in IEx but break any other jquery in the entire page....
I'm working with a large (and unweildy) ASP.NET application, and there is a lot of jQuery code that uses selectors like this:
[name=_aspnetControl$_withASubControl] And unfortunately, some selectors that also look like this:
[name^=_someAspNetControl$_radioButtonList].
In other words, the effort to remove the $ from the attribute selectors would be monumental. If it is possible to escape the $ symbols, I can do that easily enough, but unfortunately the situation right now means that I can't upgrade to jQuery 1.5.
I'm learning jQuery with XML. I'm familiar with other query languages such as XPath. I'm having a little bit of difficulty wrapping my brain around how jQuery works but I think I can make the leap if I see a solution to a problem I know how to solve with other methods Given the following XML, please share a jQuery solution to finding the value of attribute B in elements named bar where attribute A has the value 30:
I have a very large form and have a couple of checkbox groups where multiple items can be selected. They are grouped as an array of checkboxes. When I post the checkbox groups, the PHP script receives duplicate values. If the group has 2 checkboxes, 4 values are posted. If it has 10 checkboxes, 20 values will be posted.
i.e:
I then submit everything to a PHP script via an Ajax call, then output the result to a div. (see below)
However, when my PHP script loops over the $_POST array, it seems that each checkbox array is duplicated, so my PHP array returns:
This happens with all my checkbox arrays, but not with an array of hidden fields for some reason.
I don't think this is a PHP problem, as it looped over everything correctly when submitting via a conventional POST. I checked the contents of $_POST, and it seems that the duplicates are being posted.
