JQuery :: XMLDOM Extension Plugin - Appending XML String As XML Node Will Fail In IE?

Apr 28, 2009

I found that appending XML string as XML node will fail in IE, so I wrote a small plugin to solve the problem, here is my post: http://blog.darkthread.net/blogs/darkthreadtw/archive/2009/04/29/jquery-xmlext-plugin.aspx.

JQuery :: Creating An Extension Plugin To The UI Date Picker Plugin?

Jul 12, 2011

I am creating an extension plugin to the jQuery UI Date Picker plugin mostly to just standardize the options used, as well as to add an icon to open the calendar. I am aware of the plugin's use of an icon trigger, but this will not work, as I am using an icon in my sprite image and not wanting an additional request for a mere icon.

My plugin code:

(
function
(
$
)

[Code]....

This is where it really perplexes me as this code does work to produce the calendar icon. while I could get it to work this way, it is obviously not the better choice as it should be part of the extension plugin and not get repeated in all of my various implementations of the plugin.

XmlDom - Compare A String To A .nodeValue It Always Fails, Even If They Are Same?

Apr 13, 2011

I'm still pretty new to javascript and dom, but have been coding with other languages for a while.When I try to compare a string to a .nodeValue it always fails, even if they are same. From what I've read typecasting is automatic in javascript or is this incorrect? For instance

var myGreet = "Hello";
var myFrag = myXML.lastChild.firstChild.firstChild.childNodes[0].nodeValue; returns Hello
if(myGreet == myFrag){ always returns false
alert(myFrag);
}

JQuery :: Implement A Plugin/Extension?

Mar 18, 2010

I want to implement the jQuery GUID Helper plugin into my web app but I don't know what's the "best practice" method of incorporating it into my code.I'm basically creating a cart system from scratch (figured it was asufficientlycomplicated system to use when learning jQuery). When the visitor first adds an item to their cart is when I wanted to create the GUID for the visitor. I have a cart-handler.js script that I link to from the item view page:

<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/cart-handler.js"></script>

That script's first line is my$(document).ready(function(){ and the script handles AJAX calls to loading the data into cart record in my MySQL database, updates the cart total on the items page, and changes the button from "Add Item" to "Update Quantity".So would I need to link to the jquery.Guid.js script right from the view items file for my item view page? Or can I reference the plugin from the cart-handler.js file?

JQuery :: Cycle Plugin: Anchor Links Fail Using Lite Version

Jun 22, 2011

I noticed that image anchors do not work when using the lite version of jQuery Cycle(jquery.cycle.lite.min.js) . I am referring to this example: [URL]

I copied all the code from the example and couldn't get it to work, out of desperation I switched to using jquery.cycle.all.js and the anchors instantly began working. It seems the lite version only drops the opacity on inactive slides, because clicking any slide uses the anchor href from slide 1.

EDIT: Just tested with the other versions of Cycle, and found all the other versions of cycle work flawlessly.. curious :

jquery.cycle.min.js *works*
jquery.cycle.all.js *works*
jquery.cycle.all.min.js *works*
jquery.cycle.lite.js *fails*
jquery.cycle.lite.min.js *fails*

Perplexed By Javascript XmlDOM

Jul 10, 2006

I'm loading xml files in order to populate some <selectoptions from
an xml file. i only need to fill these dropdowns on page load, so am
using XML DOM to fill them. Here's basically what the source XML file

<weight>188</weight>

Unable To Retrieve The Parent Id Of A Tree Node Whenever It Has A Child Node

I'm using jsTree-0.9.9a. As a test this is the code i'm using to display the ID

oncreate: function(NODE, REF_NODE, TYPE, TREE_OBJ, RB)
{
if (TYPE === "inside") {
parent_id = $(REF_NODE).attr('id');
alert(parent_id)
}}

This works fine when the parent has no child nodes, however, when a child node exists nothing is returned.

AJAX :: Return XMLDOM To A Function?

Jun 23, 2009

I'm not too good with programming, but I'm trying to get my feet wet with some nice little AJAX tools. I have some things currently working, but I'm trying to re-write the code so I can reuse these modules for a number of functions....As of now, I have a function that returns XHR requests [ ajaxRequest(){} ]. I am calling this function inside an XML Parser called [ ajaxParser(){} ]. Once that's created, I have the following code:

Code:

xmlDoc = new ajaxRequest() xmlDoc.onreadystatechange = function(){
if (xmlDoc.readyState == 4){
if (xmlDoc.status == 200){[code]....

At this point, I want the function to return an object that holds all the XML Node names, lengths, textContent, etc. I would like to be able to call this in any other function I write and begin traversing the nodes there. Something like root = new ajaxParser(file.xml);I tried "return parentMenuList;" except the length return is undefined. What I see in the DOM inspector is an object called root (with no other properties to it).

JQuery :: $ In Id Causes Selector To Fail

I'm trying to add some functionality to a existing application. I have no control over the input element ids. There are inputs I need to use that have $ in the id <input id='field1$0'>. Trying to use the id selector $('#field1$0') fails (result is undefined).Is this a bug or "by design" in qQuery?Is there a workaround, other than looping thru all inputs to find the ones I need?

Jquery :: Causing CSS To Fail Over SSL

Mar 29, 2010

I am using ASP.NET for data retrieval and jQuery to perform various functions/animations (error bar, slide menu, table sorter, etc...). Everything is working great until the pages are viewed over and SSL connection. When viewing over SSL, some of the margins/padding stops working and the hover effects on tables stop working correctly (leaving cells coloured, not colouring others). After spending a day looking for the solution in Google, I haven't found anything that will fix the issue. No errors/warnings are displayed on the page.

JQuery :: Apostrophe's Causing Selectors To Fail In IE 6 & 7?

However, in IE 6 & 7 (not 8), if there's an apostrophe it blows up.It's happening for me in both jQuery 1.6.4 and 1.7.1. Here's an example. var diagnosis = "Huntington's Disease"; $(...).find('input[value="' +diagnosis+ '"]').attr('checked','checked'); I've tried diagnosis.replace("'","'") and that seems to have no affect.

JQuery :: Appending To Href Of Set Of Anchors?

$(
'.Get').attr('href').append('&id=' + id); does not work. Can someone tell me why and what is the correct solution.
