JQuery :: Use Script On HTML Obtained With Load Function

Oct 2, 2010

I'm trying to make a beautifull ajax-based fom like javascript galleries. With this I get HTML form, generated by PHP script, depending on passed parameters:
$("#info").load('./handler.php', {object: 'course', action: 'add'});

It works cool, but obtained HTML isn't affected by the script and can't handle any events, for example:
$("form").click(function () {
alert('click is made');
});
doesn't work anyway. I supposed to send data from this form using ajax, e.g. '.load()', but as you see, I can't use script on it.

JQuery :: Finding Selected Radio Button In Internet Explorer With Function / Onchange - Wrong Value Obtained

Feb 24, 2011

The following code works fine in FF and Chrome for getting a radio selections value but not IE8.

$('input[name="search[gender]"]').change(function()
{
var check = $('input[name="search[gender]"]:checked').val();

Inputs are below:
<input type="radio" name="search[gender]" value="1" class="v_middle" />Male
<input type="radio" name="search[gender]" value="2" class="v_middle" />Female
<input type="radio" name="search[gender]" value="3" class="v_middle" />Couple
<input type="radio" name="search[gender]" value="4" class="v_middle" />tv
<input type="radio" name="search[gender]" value="" checked="checked" class="v_middle" />All

The first time you click a radio button in IE8, no value is returned at all (tested with document.write of the 'check' value), with an error "'null' is null or not an object". The second (and rest of the times) you click any of the checkboxes the wrong value is returned, it returns the value of the currently checked button (which we checked a moment ago) rather than the one we have checked the second time. Does Internet Explorer have issues with this onchange function method? Or is something wrong with my code?

JQuery :: Delay With Cycle And Image Info Obtained Via Ajax?

Aug 5, 2010

I'm attempting to make a little slide show navigation box..thing, along the lines of what a lot of sports sites and, say, Gamespot use (digression: do these boxes have a technical name?).

My setup is pretty simple - I have a small PHP script that iterates over an image folder and pulls both the file name and last modified info from each image and stores them in an associative array. The array is json_encode()-ed. My jQuery $.get()'s the json, parses it, and then creates image elements based on the info. Cycle then does its thing and creates the slide show.

It all works, with one problem - the images don't appear upon a first visit to the site. They only appear on subsequent visits. This happens in the big three browsers (IE, FF, Chrome) without fail. A refresh is always necessary.

I'm not sure if it's a runtime issue, a cache issue, or if somehow Cycle isn't 'seeing' the images the first time. Please help. My code is below:

JQuery :: Load Method Can't Exhibit Some Really Easy HTML Data. Load Bug?

I've been noticing a lot of problems when loading these stuff, Sometimes I have to remake the HTML Tags because its not showing anything. Is there any option? I want it to load EXACTLY how it is, I don't know if this is some kind of protection for bad code, but if it is I would like to disable. But also, this code is really clean. no problem, I don't know.

JQuery :: Load More Than One Html Fragment Using .load()?

Dec 10, 2010

Is there a way to load more than one html fragment using .load()? That is, I want my homepage to pull in multiple pages of content into the main page so that I can create a one-page site that slides vertically.

An example of what I've got is

$(document).ready(function(){
$('#footer').load('about.html #content');
$('#footer').load('locations.html #content');
$('#footer').load('contact.html #content');
});

Which of course only loads the first about.html page's #content into the #footer of the home page.

JQuery :: Load Html And Loop Through Json While Changing Html With Json Data?

Sep 11, 2010

I have a html file that I want to load, loop through the json data and for each json entry I want to add a new block of the html and insert the json data into the matching div/class of the html. json looks like this:

{"Super" : [{"Name" : "John Doe", "Age" : "30"}, {"Name" : "Jane Doe", "Age" : "40"}]};
html looks like this:
<div class="Name"></div><div class="Age"></div>

So for each json entry of name/age, I want to insert that into the html, and then add another row, until all json data has been fetched. After this I want to insert all of this into #box, which is just a divthat should contain that html. Looping like this obviously does not work, since I just keep replacing the same html through the loop.

var jsonData = {"Super" : [{"Name" : "John Doe", "Age" : "30"}, {"Name" : "Jane Doe", "Age" : "40"}]};
$.each(json.Super, function() {
$('#box .Name').html(this.Name);
$('#box .Age).html(this.Age);
});

JQuery :: Google.load Function Doesn't Work If Called From Ready Function?

Jul 1, 2010

I'm using the Google AJAX APIs, but some reason google.load works when run through normal javascript, but if I call the method from my jquery ready function it doesn't work. Code and output is below

page.html
<script type="text/javascript">
loadGoogleStuff();
function loaded() {
console.debug("in loaded function");
}
[Code]...

window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.

JQuery :: Html(ajax_load).load() Not Working In 1.4.3 And Up

May 16, 2011

I found jQuery simply amazing and been using this since then. My first and current version that I use is 1.4.2. My code below works fine in 1.4.2 until I upgraded to 1.6.1. I'm using CI for my php,btw.$("#ResultPanel").html(ajax_load).load("irs/login"+"#div_One"); After I upgraded to 1.6.1 Firebug reports "404 Page Not Found. The page you requested was not found". But when I switch back to 1.4.2 it works fine again. When I read the 1.6.1 release note it only says .attr() and prop() method nothing that I understand about .load().

my code that no longer supported in 1.6.1 released?

JQuery :: Ajax Load Multiple Pieces Of Html?

Aug 19, 2010

So I know that with .load I can load a specific chunk of html. What if I want to load 2 chunks of html in one request? For instance my current page has

#nav and #content. My loaded page has the same and I want to replace these 2 elements with the new one (or it contents).

$('#nav').load(loadUrl + " #nav");
$('#content').load(loadUrl + " #content");

So the above doesn't work for me for 2 reasons: 1. I load twice. I don't want to do that (but I also don't want to load the js and all because it will mess things up) 2. This puts #content inside #content

JQuery :: .load() Method Won't Get Html From A Parent Directory

Feb 20, 2010

I'm trying to use the ajax load() method to load a file from a parent directory, e.g.

$("#divTests").load("../tests.htm");

But that doesn't work. I can load a simple html file from the same directory as my html file or a descendant directory, but not an ancestor directory. Nor can I load from an external server.

I'm doing my testing on my PC and I'm not running a server (apache or otherwise). Just using it as a simple client. Is that possibly the problem? Or is there something else I'm missing? If that is the problem, is there a workaround?
