JQuery :: UI Dialog Widget Could Not Disable Object Element?
Sep 27, 2009
I've implemented Dialog of jQuery UI and set its modal option to true, but object elements (embedded youtube video) were not disabled thus they were even rendered on top of the said dialog.
I am trying to display a pop up window but keep getting the error above. Here is the rendered code: <head><title></title> <link href="/Content/Site.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="/Scripts/jquery-1.5.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/Scripts/jquery-ui.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <link type="text/css" href="/asset.axd?id=lAAAAB-.............." rel="stylesheet"/> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#btnPopup').click(function () { $('#mypopup').dialog(); <======= ERROR });}); </script></head>
I have a series of images which i want to use as buttons to trigger adialog. Inside this dialog i need the ID of the image button (or anyother element). But it seems after I load the dialog i cannot alterthe content of it anymore. As an example I have tried to change thetitle of the #dialog so it will show the updated title when i clickthe button. The only way i am able to do this is when i put all ofthis inside the .click function and start with .attr function followedby the .dialog function. The problem is when i do this and close thedialog i cannot enable the dialog anymore. I guess this is why theyhave the .dialog("open").Is there a way i can achieve what I'm trying to do here? Maybe thereis a better way of doing this?
Dynamically creating and assigning elements to a dialog, but I am unable to modify the elements after the window opens. I know that I can see them and they are being correctly assigned because I can look at them with firebug.I was thinking that one source of the problem may be the badly formed html that I am getting out. shouldn't each input tag end with " />"?
i have been working with jquery dialog for a while and am stuck on a new problem today.when i load a dialog, it is running the button functions when the dialog is opened.
I used the jquery modal dialog from the[url].... that is currently draggable from the title only. is there any way i can make that draggable by inserting a div at the footer of the dialog or make it draggable from everywhere in the dialog.
I am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.

I have a problem using dialog JQ command. More specifically, I want the button called "Edit" (line 7 below) to open only 1 window as opposed to all behind each other. Below is some of the code I use right now and a short description of what happens with the codde.
<!-- C# and HTML code here--> <table><tbody> <% foreach (var item in Model) { %> <tr>
[Code].....
What the application does so far is it loads the table and has an edit button next to each row (line 7 above), however when the "Edit" button is pressed the Html.RenderAction (line 8) pulls up edit windows for all of the items (item.ID) on the list instead of only the selected one row. This means that there are currently about 25 windows that pop up behind each other.
What I want the code to do but so far was unable to figure out is only to open the edit window for selected row.
how to do it If I have something like this: var d = {one:1, two:2, three:3}; and I want to add a new item to d, how can I do it? I have looked up the documentation and found the function called data (name, value) and I tried doing this $(d).data("four",4); but it wasn't added
I want to disable an HTML-Element with PHP if an action occurs. For example I have a simple input button, and if the input button has been clicked 5 times, it is being disabled.
I would like to add a key value to an object array. let's say i have 2arrays: var parArr = new Array('par1', 'par2', 'par3', 'par4'); var valArr = new Array('val1', 'val2', 'val3', 'val4');I would like to obtain ext={par1:val1, par2:val2,pa3:val3,par4:val4}
Basically what i am trying to do is that i have a unordered list and basically destroys the new list and creates a new one. The problem is that each element of that list has a hover event method. After the new list is created, the hover event is not detected.
how would I go about removing one of the inner objects - s1 or s2? I've tried all sorts of ways but can't seem to get anything to remove an item from a jQuery object.
I am using the HTML5 canvas element and an image object that I move around the canvas using the arrow buttons.I would like to be able to move the image around until it reaches the top, bottom, or sides of the canvas element. I know that I need to get the position of the x, y positions of the element. I'm just not sure about the logic to compare the elements location to the sides or top or bottom of the canvas. Furthermore, not sure how i would disable to arrow button to prevent me from arrowing the object outside of the canvas.I'm testing in IEMy canvas width is 512 and canvas height is 480The object I'm moving around is an image.png that is 32 X 32I know this isn't much to go on, but I'm having difficulty coming up with how to ask the question
I have an object on the document element that allows for other components to register with it, i have a custom event something along$(document).bind("register",function(thechild)..So in the child object when they are created i call$(document).trigger("register",this);And indeed i get the DOM object. However i'm looking for the plug in object, i want to be able to call methods on the passed childobject and access it's Config.Does that make sense? How can i write a plug in that is applied to various objects that also registers itself with an 'overseer' object on the document element in such a way that i can allow that overseer object to call methods on any registered child objects?
So, I read about the new method of passing an object map containing element properties when creating a new jQuery object (as discussed at the bottom of this article). The article says that it supports ALL events, but only gives examples of simple events that require no parameters. I'm trying to implement a live event using the following and can't get it to work:
var link = $('<a />', { text: config.appendTextMore, href: "#",
Is there any way to enable a form element(s) based on the selection in a <select> drop-down? I'm trying to enable/disable a group of checkboxes depending on which option is chosen in the <select> above it.I know how to enable/disable something when a box is checked (or text is entered into it) but I have no clue how to handle the <select> option.
I have a single web page that is broken into content sections that are all assigned element id's (home, about, services, and contact) and have a fixed navigation bar that points to anchors associated with each element id / page section. Since the navigation bar is fixed, it comes along with us as we scroll through the page. I've got a jQuery smooth scrolling effect that makes a nice transition between sections of the page when you click on one of the navigation links. Between the sections I have an image that looks cool as the page scrolls past between sections.
Problem:Since the page is kind of long, I would like to use the jQuery .hide method to remove page sections that lie between the current section of the page that is being viewed and the section targeted by the navigation link. At the same time, the .show method will be used to ensure the target section of the page is visible. Therefore, I need to include an exception to the list of elements that I am hiding - the element that I am currently viewing (and is consequently being displayed as the current url in the browser due to the anchor tags).ExampleFor instance, say you're viewing the "about" section of the page and you click the navigation link to the "contact" section. The "contact" link in the navigation bar is assigned the id="nav_contact." When you click the "contact" button, I've made the following jQuery happen:
This isn't really a beginner question. I need to build a webpage that has some form elements on it. These form elements act like filters on a set of page elements. Several input element can be grouped as one of many filters. For example six checkboxes are filter 1 and a radiobutton and a pulldown element are filter 2.
When the user makes some changes in these filters a server request is send and an answer is send back with the result. Depending on the result every filter (group of elements) need to be re-initialized to reflect the new model state on the server.
So my question is: Is it right to see the filters as widgets in a Jquery UI sense? Or is it more appropriate to just see them as plugins. Can someone please share some insight?
