JQuery :: Set Color On Hover - Altertheopacity Of Images
Feb 22, 2010
I'm using jquery to altertheopacity of images. I also want to give them a different color on mouse hover. I tried giving the div classcontainingthe images a background and thought the colorwouldshow through the opacity but itdoesn't.
The code I'm using is:
How can I use other properties thanopacity? Like color maybe
I have a div whose hover color is initially set through a CSS style sheet, but have found that if I change the background through a script, the hover is wiped out. Here's how I'm changing the colornode.style.backgroundColor = '#00FF00';Later on, I need to restore the normal color and have the hover still work. Is there any way to programatically reinstate the h
I need to get the css hover color of an element. Since hover is a pseudo class of a class or id, I do not see a way of returning the color. I tried: $('.contentArea a:hover').css('color'); but it does not return the hover color. I understand that jQuery probably traverses the inline styles and there is no way to set the hover pseudo class inline, hence the reason for the .hover function. Is it possible to find and return the hover color with jQuery. If so how?
I have a single page that I would like to use a different color for the navigation links (because of the background image) and hover effect. So I decided try to use jquery to accomplish this.
If I comment out line 4 of the jquery code , then the althover goes into effect and links changes to red.
In my second test, I also made the pseudo-class :hover red. and got rid of hover() in the jquery. Again, when I comment out line 4, then :hover works. But if I modify the color via jquery, hover effect via CSS and jquery both fail.
l need to apply a hover css on a radio button. Currently the background color only draws a box around the radio button but does not the actual radio color. l dont mind if there is no css even javascript will do
I am trying to make different images hover over a table of sliced images when you mouse over a particular image. ex. mouse over image 1 = have image 1.1 hover over entire table of images in spot A; mouse over image 2 = have image 2.2 hover over entire table of images in spot B....ect. what i have so far only allows me to mouse over image 1 and have image 1.1 hover over entire table in spot A. Any time i try to move forward with more div's on other images it just jacks everything up.
I have a simple menu as you can see in which i want the link that gets pressed to change color to grey.(line26).But before that (line25) i use jquery to change all the links back to their original color. But that line of code destroys my hover effect on all my links for a reason.
I'm trying to change the font color upon hovering of my CSS ID's #realmaturesingles and #seniorpeoplemeet. How do I do this using JavaScript? This is what I've tried.
I have a grid of images. For the sake of my question, let's say there are different categories of images: cats, dogs and cars. All images belong to one of these categories, but all are different. When the page is loaded, all images have their opacity lowered to 0.7.
So far I've got:
What I'd like to achieve is that when you hover the mouse over a picture of any dog, all images with a class of "dogs" have their opacity adjusted to1.
I recently implemented the Image Cross Fade Transition [url] It works great, and I'm hoping to add to the code to enhance the functionality. Currently, if I hover over the image, it runs the cross fade transition, which I would like to keep. I have another div on the page that I would like to trigger the first instance when hovered over as well. Is there a good way to add this?
I've run into a problem with swapping images for site navigation. The "hover" part works just fine, but the problem lies within the click part. When the user clicks the first thing that happens is to reset all of the images for all of the links, and then set the hover image for the link that was clicked. However it seems that after resetting all of the images 'src' attributes, the code for setting the link that was clicked either doesn't execute, or executes before the reset.
I have a few table cells that have the following class: .tc { some declarations } .tc:hover { background color changed }
And I have a cell that has an onclick event that calls a function. The function gets all the cells and does this to them: cell.style.backgroundColor = 'transparent'; // or whatever else
And then the background color of a clicked cell is changed to indicate that it has been selected. The problem is: when I change a backgroundColor of the cells, their :hover states no longer work: if I try to hover the mouse over them - nothing happens.
sing Javascript, on mouseover/hover, I would like to change the boder color of my textbox from rgb(142, 142, 142) to black: rgb(0, 0, 0,) then when I move the mouse pointer off the textbox, I would like it to change from black back to rgb(142, 142, 142).I can't figure out where to start or how to get this going.
Since IE does not support hover for elements other then link I would like to use an event listener via attatchEvent to change the style of the row when the mouse is over and then again when it is out.
I'm testing out the cycle plugin, I wanted to have it so the slideshow would pause on hovering over both the pagination links and the image. With the below code right now only the bottom slideshow pauses on hovering over the links but does not pause on hovering over the images as the top slideshow does. I seem to be running into problems combining the two, can you take a look? I want to keep the previous and next links and for them to be functional also.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
Let me explain what is going on. Inside of a div with the id = navContain, are a few images. These images are used as navigation links. These images have the class = imgPos. When you roll over one of these images, the css top property adds 92 pixels.
The image contains two different colored variations of the word "HOME." When the image is in its off state, the word home is white. When you roll over the image, jQuery animates it so that the white text of the word "HOME" slides down, and then a colored version of the word "HOME" slides down and takes its place. This is the same image, just its top property is being changed. jQuery does nothing more than change the top property.
The problem: Sometimes when you roll your mouse over it for the first time, it properly animates to the over state, but then gets stuck in that state even when you mouse off of it. Still in its over state, if you mouse over it again, the over state jumps up and down violently. It never goes back to the state where the text should be white - its original state.
I've tried the stop() function, as you can see in my code. Still, this problem persists and I can't seem to figure it out alone.
I have been trying to replicate a cool javascript effect that appears here (http://d3r.com). See the funky images fading in when hovering with mouse? I want that ;-) By using Firebug I think I have narrowed down the code needed to:
I want to 'style' all links on my site with a variable for random colors. I got the variable for the random colors up and running but i can't figure out how to implement the variable to the css.
There are two radio buttons, sometimes one will be disabled, other times the other will be disabled. I would like to make a script that: First: Changes the color of surrounding text of the disabled radio button to the color grey. Second: Checks the other radio button.
This was my plan: I would make a script that: First: Removes all the current classes and add the class "greyed_out" (or better: change only the color of) the parent element, all siblings and children of siblings (if any) of the radio button that is disabled at that time.Second: Sets the attribute "checked to the other radio button". I made a script, but when I set the bottom radio button to disabled the script doesn't work:
I am using superfish menu on the site below. http:[url]...when I go through the sub menus. parent menu item's "a color" turns into white again but not background color. then nothing is seen. I want it to stay as first hover condition (white bg and black text) when I walking through sub menus. I cannot override it.
Let me say ahead of time I haven't the slightest clue how to write JavaScript, I've been copying and pasting for 12 years the same code and it's always worked.Right now, I'm having an issue with 2 of the 4 button graphics not doing the hovering effect they're supposed to. I DID do a search for this and couldn't find it so please forgive me if it is indeed here somewhere.Again, to be clear, 2 of the 4 images ARE going to the 2nd image when hovered over. 2 aren't and I can't figure out why. I've tried JavaScript validators linked from this very site but what they tell me is Greek to me.It's images 3 and 4 that aren't doing their hover effectsHere's the code: (I PRAY I posted this code right. If not, I'll try to fix.)
Explain why when the lines of code that are commented out are reintroduced that this code breaks instead of resulting in each of the four circles being a different color?
have been trying to rework this to call additional, independent sets of colors to cycle through (so it would loop thru a set of grays, a set of primary colors, etc). I would use perhaps a different function name in the HTML to call different sets of colors. If this is more complex than I think it is, I think 3 sets would be plenty. demo link of script in current state at bottom)
I have created a javascript script to select a color for the css theme. I have it working great for picking, but the problem is when I refesh it goes back to the default. why my cookies are not saving?
