JQuery :: Malsup Corners - Strange Top Nudges In IE6 And Opera
Sep 21, 2009
I am playing with malsup's corners and I am getting strange nudges on both top corners in Opera, IE6 and Konquerer when applied to nested elements (to achieve a cornered border). I am using exactly the same code as on the demo page: "$(this).corner("round 8px").parent().css ('padding', '4px').corner("round 10px")". Strangely this only appears when the radius is more than 10px and
div.outer's padding is less than 3px. All corners are rounded, just at the top div.outer still seems to have little develish horns.

I am using Malsup's Rounded Corners plugin, which is amazing! I use Chrome and Firefox so it looks great. However mycolleague using IE, complained that the corners aren't round. So I looked and the corners are but the border is not (using the "keep" setting).
I saw that on ff/chrome you are using the border-radius which isn't supported by IE<9. Is there some other way to get the borders looking round on IE7,8 or do I just have to turn off the borders?

I am using the curvycorners.src.js script in order to achieve rounded corners in IE. If you go here: [URL] and then drag and resize your browser screen, you will see that the header and bottom section move out of alignment. When I remove the Curvy Corners script, the issue goes away. For some reason though it is only affecting the home-page of the site (not the sub-pages).

I'm trying to get borders to display properly with this plugin:On the page it says to use the keep option, but it does not give an option to specify what colour the border should be , if I specify the type of border in a stylesheet: like (border:1px solid #d4d4d4;) it shows the border great in firefox, but in ie6 and 8 it shows the border but not to the contours of the rounded box (ie square)

I'm looking for a jQuery plugin or pair of plugins that will apply both a rounded corner and a drop shadow to a DIV box without the use of corner/border images. I've actually found quite a few that do one or the other but they seem to be pretty outdated, not in itself a problem but mostly for lack of support. So far, the few that I've found will do rounded corners and a few will do drop shadows. Sometimes they fail to work with each other and sometimes they only work in FF or Safari and fail in IE. I'm coming up short on the magic combination.
This failure in IE kinda defeats the whole purpose of doing this with jQuery since I can already get FF and Safari do to both with only CSS3. Does anyone know of a great jQuery plugin or pair of plugins known to work in all browsers including the latest couple/few versions of IE?

I have the following to add curvy corners to my divs;
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#album').corner();
});
</script>
My divs look like:
<div
id
="album"
> ... something here ... </div
>
<div
id
="album"
> ... somthing here ... </div
>
<div
id
="album"
> ... somthing here ... </div
>
<div
id
="album"
> ... somthing here ... </div
>
The curvy corners only works on the first div. How to make it work on all album divs ?

We use WebSphere 6.1 as web server and the project is in ear file. After deployment, sometimes access server, the page was load incomplete, such as logo image (.gif) disappeared, and JavaScript error appeared. But after press on Refresh button from browser (IE), the page is loaded completed, all images are loaded and the JavaScript is gone.
[Code]...
We have tried to optimize the JSP page, however the page loaded is faster but this issue still occurred once in a while. Does anyone encounter the same issue before?

This is a support ticket, stating the fact if that IE not support the characte encoding or somehow misinterprets the encoding you will get a strange javascript error called:00ce56e.This will apply on all your ajax transfers for one.For example i had a text/html;charset=utf8 header returned from a php-webservice i wrote. Nice i though, charencoding is the "plant-shit" (Crank quote) and code along and thought to myself, "Damn i'm a witty one". until i started the "IE" beast.. the beast throw out all my claims and the lookout for actually winning this went down. Until i found the above URL.. That is some crackhed shit right there. (Crank anyone?!).What it's stating more or less is that if IE 7 or 8 (or any program that uses whatever that is located in what dll) would more or less shit its pants when it run over an unspported encoding.. In this case UTF-8..
Ok, i'm a swedish guy and uses windows iso latin craptastic charsets more or less everyday but when coding for internationally webpages that are targeting multiple countries you cant get to be staring blindly at your own chars by altering my header to a text/html instead of a text/html;charset=utf8 response to my ajax script i solved alot of strange error shit. (but not my previous post with the fact that IE dont succed even if it would want to, thats a total other question but related but not directly if you get my drift.)..

downloaded and installed the cycle .jquery.cycle.all.2.74.js and jquery.cycle.min.js and set up the code like on the example:
<head>
<style type="text/css">
.slideshow { margin: 0px 50px 0px 0px;
width: 713px;
height: 478px;
position: relative;
[Code]...
I also found it worked better if I put the class styles in the head and not on a separate CSS file. Any thoughts to what's wrong?

I am using the awesome malsup cycle plugin, but it seems like the sync: true option isn't working 100% synchronous. If I activate the sync option and let exactly the same images fade, a short opacity effect occurs.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.slideshow').cycle({
fx: 'fade',
sync: true,
speed: 1000,
timeout: 4000
});});
<div class="slideshow">
<img src="[URL]" width="200" height="200" />
<img src="[URL]" width="200" height="200" />
<img src="[URL]" width="200" height="200" />
<img src="[URL]" width="200" height="200" />
<img src="[URL]" width="200" height="200" />
</div>
I would like to fade some images with only few differences, and for the user it should look like only those few parts of the image change.

I haven't found in my CSS book how to create a gradient to fill a division
tag, and to create a border with round corners.
Is it possible using either CSS or JavaScript? I'd like to create a menu bar with a gradient in the background, and I want the top corners to be a little round with a 5px radius.

I'm trying to do a goto thing with the cycle plugin. I've succeeded with the same thing before. The only thing that happens now is that it goes to the first index/restarts.
$('#id').cycle(n); always gets me the first slide. I've checked that the n value is a number/integer. The only thing I can come up with is some kind of conflict.I'm also using jcarousel but when I deactivate that it's the same problem.
Does anybody have clue about what might be going on? Or maybe how to troubleshoot?
