I am using the lightbox popup on a page that is called into an iframe... So the boc centers within the iframe.. Is there a way to have it center on the page instead of the iframe?
View 13 RepliesI have the lightbox working properly on the site but actually want it to pop up/open automatically, say after 2 seconds after the page is loaded and without having to trigger it by klicking a href link. I noticed daniweb has exactly the same function here on this site! What code would I need to add to make this happen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a few hundred popups that I am trying to change to a "lightbox" style solution:
The new colorbox popup solution works well, but in some browsers - notably IE - it conflicts with the SIDE MENU routine I use.
I think the menu is old code, but it works. However, to get the new "lightbox-style" popup to work in IE, I have to include <!DOCTYPE html>.
In the other browsers, omitting the declaration apparently solves the conflict problem (but I feel it ought to be there).
I really don't know what to do. Tinker with the side menu code?

I have tried with a full declaration but it makes no difference at all. And further reading online suggests <!DOCTYPE html> is OK.
I have a client which would like to use Adobe Contribute to maintain their website, and the website requires popup windows (for larger images) or a lightbox feature. The problem is how do I make images popup into new windows, without toolbars, etc. I would prefer lightbox than popup windows, if possible. How I can do this, so the client can add more images, as they maintain their website? For anyone that hasn't used Contribute, you can only edit <a href="page.htm"> and nothing else for the links, so it means onclick can't be added to <a href="page.htm">. The only way to add a link is to click on a button in the tools.

I don't want the user to be able to click out of the lightbox, scroll the window in the back ground, or get around the lightbox any other way... Currently, I paid someone to do this for me and this is the code they came up with. The problem is, all it does is show a white box in the middle of the page, no disclaimer, no content. Also, the webpage in the background is still scrollable...

I've been working on a MySpace friend adder site for a couple of days now. The problem I've encountered is that when people click to add users I wanted to load the add page in an iframe displayed lightbox stylee.

The problem I'm encountering is that MySpace seems to break out of iframes, which is annoying as I really didn't want to use popups.
Is there any way to disable the javascript in an iframes? or am I destined to have to use popups?
I have a lightbox-type script (not actually lightbox but same idea that displays the content of an iframe rather than a picture). I want to activate it from a link inside an iframe. However, the dark area only fills the iframe but i want it to fill the parent frame of course. I am stuck with an issue of getting my modal to pop up and out of the iframe and show on top of the parent page. I am using the jqModal -xamples and they seem to have an answers for everything but this. This is the ultimate objective:OnLoad of the parent page, if something=true to pop up the modal from within the iframe to show over the parent. OH, and I CAN'T change anything in the parent page.I can get it to do everything that i need it to do BUT pop up out of the iframe. I have tried to access an id of the parent page to set it as a target, along with many other non working ways.... but idk... i think i am just running in circles at this point.... SO here is the simplified code that is nested inside of the parent iframe.... it loads the modal onLoad of the page, but its inside the iframe...

I can't seem to get my second lightbox to launch into the lightbox. The first instance is fine and working perfectly. I'm assuming its some kind of code in the header to make it work but not sure at all.

If you need to load a page and then add a light box to it be sure that the whole page is loaded before you add the lightbox or it will not function.
In your description you add the lightbox and the load some content. The content are not in the dom when you add the lightbox so the lightbox don't know what to add it's function onto.
I have a web page that contains a series of links, each open in a jQuery Lightbox.
What I want to do is automatically open one of these links upon page load.
I'm trying to add the lightbox plugin to a page and when the image is clicked the overlay and corresponding image are pushed to the bottom of the page wit the image below the overlay. The gallery div is nested inside a couple other divs and when the gallery images are clicked the overlay and lighbox divs are pushed to the bottom of the page instead of being absolutely positioned over the existing content. If anyone has some ideas on how to fix this I would like to hear them.

Instead of it opening a new window for the php page, I'd love to make it more aesthetically pleasing and use Fancy Box and jQuery to open a popup window over the page that has an iframe of the php in it.
My issue: I can't figure out how to have the modal popup open when the dropdown is selected. I don't want to have to use a button to trigger it. Any way to trigger the popup AND also POST to the php page onChange of the selection box?

i am creating a Greasemonkey script that adds an ajax chat to a website. Greasemonkey is an addon for firefox that lets you modify the html code of websites before they are showed to the user.
I am in the process of creating a wizz feature that will allow you to send a message to a member and where ever he is on the web his gona receive it. The way it works right now is there's a hidden iframe in every page load and when the player has a message it popups a small window
It's working great but the popup is always instantly blocked because firefox has a popup bloker integrated and because it can popup on random websites they don't allow it and there for never gets the message ...
Everything else i tryed was blocked by the fact that it opens in the iframe that is invisible.
I even tryed doing it the old fashon way with an alert() but same thing you don't see it because it's in the hidden frame.
And i tryed adding top.alert() but i get a javascript the "Access Denied" message. The "Access Denied" error in any browser usually means that a script in one window or frame is trying to access another window or frame whose document's domain is different from the document containing the script.
I know DHTML AJAX popup would be the only way to give the user the message with out being blocked ... but how can i make it popup out of the iframe into the main frame with out being blocked in anyway ..

IE7 and IE8 show a message saying something about allowing it and i think this will scare the users. I am looking for a method that will popup a window and allow them to fill in the link details and if possible allow them to pick a (link) target.

I am a total javascript newbie and have been pulling out my hair trying to figure out how I could reload an iframe inside the main browser window from a popup window.
What I am trying to do is have a system where people can upload pictures from the popup and then veiw the pictures they have uploaded as they upload them in the main window.
Recently, I've tried to use FancyBox (a zooming lightbox script - affects every image link of a given parent id) on a page where contents are loaded dynamically with jquery.
I init fancybox at the loading of the needed section - then, I click on the image link, fancybox's darker overlay appears for a sec, but then the target image itself loads (as if no script would be there). As it seems, FB was initalized, but is somehow not working... js debug shows nothing wrong.
Since the whole page is loaded dynamically with jquery, I can't really separate the problem - the script is working good when it's in static context. Before, I used a quite similar script FancyZoom, that worked without problem...
