JQuery :: Ignore Applied Actions With Certain Classes?

<div class="one">

Text here
<div class="ignore">Text here to remain black</div>
Text here
Text here
[Code]...
My question is, how would I change all text within class one to say red (including sub-divs/spans etc), whilst completely ignoring the text with the ignore class(es)?
The page im loading with $.get has a syntax error that is killing my entire script. Is there anyway to test if it contains a syntax error and/or just ignore it?
$.get('http://www.example.com/',function(response){ var someText = $(response).find('#myDiv').text(); // Script doesnt run after this because response contains a syntax
I'm trying to use .load to get a simple web page. In the documentation for the .load function, I see that I can just return parts of page. I pass through the <body> element in order to just get the body, and not the headers of the html document, however in FireFox, it seems to still be returning all the headers. How can I use .load to ignore the headers.
If you try out the code, you will see 2 buttons. Either button downloads content into the page using ".Load". You can try clicking on either or both buttons. The problem is that I want the color of loaded content to match the color of the button. To do this, I set the css of the loaded content to be that color. This works very briefly, and then its covered up again by the default color, which is black. It is as if the browser loads content, applied my css from my css code, and then makes another pass and applies the default css. But of course Idon't know for surewhat the browser is doing. So there are 3 web pages here. The first is the webpage that has the code. The other two are webpages have the paragraphs that he first page loads. The names of the pages are listed: So voila - first page (name is demoProblem.htm).

I'm trying to implement my first jQuery UI combobox. I have the data displaying and filtering as expected. However, the expected style doesn't seem to be getting applied. configuration or restrictions for trying to implement this? Do I have to specify a "class" or is it possible to just specify a "style" for the control?
i have in place an fade in application of addclass to a selector but i would like the transition to use one of the easing plugin equations instead for more dynamism. I can't tell how i would do this, since all the examples only use the animate function.
i've been having an issue with the jPicker and jquerySpinButton plugins. if i apply each plugin to one instance (say, a span) they work fine. however, the next time I do the call, the elements are not modified by the plugin. on the demo page, there should be two spin boxes, and two color selectors. only the top 2 work, the bottom 2 are deformed.[URL]..
Trying to use the [URL] I would like to beable to ignore default values, but am sort of stuck. I already looked through all 42 results after searching for how to validate while ignoring default value. I have tried:
$('#bank').click(function(event){ // request form $('#middle').load('form/bank.html'); $('#butang').click(function(){
[Code].....
Which means, once after a link namely as "bank" is clicked,then it will extract the bank.html contentinto the middle div. And I already put a button ID named as "butang" over that bank.html. But why after the content is nicely rendered, I can't obtain the alert?
Hmmm... even when I clicking, clicking, and clicking many times at the button named as "butang", can not also give me an alert. How could I apply a jquery into a new html rendered as it firstly it's not there?
In IE8, Cycle appears to be applying styling _after_ the transition, and it produces a weird visual effect.
Take a look at the bottom demos in IE8 on the Intermediate-2 examples from the Cycle site. See how the styling on the font changes after transition? [URL]
I've been using Mike Alsup's Cycle plugin on a large number ofprojects, and one of the most recent ones is giving me trouble in IE.In this example, the slide container seems to have a background colorapplied to it, and there is neither a background property added to itnor is there any background property in the CSS for the slide elementor its children. I finally decided to recreate the effect from scratchto make sure it wasn't some strange IE bug or the markup, and the from-scratch version works no problem. Here are the two examples, both arein the "past lectures" module:[URL]
I've created a jQuery canvas slideshow to apply image an filter while running the slideshow. Everything seems to be working fine, but when I apply the filter to the image, the slideshow doesn't load other slides and keeps loading the same slide. To have a look at the problem follow the link: [URL].
I have a grid that uses RowAltRow as the classes for the rows...is there a way to have the hover applied to both instead of having to define it twice (or more)?
Form that code I would expect the class of 'testclass' to be applied to the button after the link is clicked, but It doesn't seem to work. This is a somewhat contrived example. In my real application I have a form with several collapsable/expandable sections. If the fields in those form sections have values when the page loads, the section needs to be expanded, and the expand/collapse button needs to have a class of 'expaned' applied to it, if not it needs to be hidden. I can check the form fields and show the div if needed without any problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to work out the selector so I can add the class to the button.
how can i make the actions happen all together at the same time, not in a series for instance this code will show the balloon first which takes 100th of a second then go to the next list i want this list to happen at once
i built a application with the jquery-plugin jstree to maniputate a tree stored in a database. all actions like create, move, delete and rename are fire up ajax-calls to php-scripts with mysql-querys. i got it to work, to display a trobber and 'waiting'-text during the ajax-calls, but what i also want to do is blocking" the site for this time, so that the user HAS TO wait and couldn't click somewhere else. This blocking should be should be visible like the behaviour of modalwindows. the background should be with a dark overlay.
I've got a form that I need to go to two different places. First, I need it to submit a portion (but not all) of inputed data to one url (url.php). If that is successful, I need it to submit another portion of the inputed data to another url (url2.php). The trick is, I need the information from some fields to go to both places, but with different names.
I have the information I need to go to url.php serialized by class (.string). Then, I try to make a string out of the data for url2.php. What seems to be happening the form is submitting ALL fields to url.php, ignoring the serialized string I told it to use, and then submitting ALL fields to url2.php, again ignoring the string I told it to use.
I have a text box where a user can press enter, tab (keypress) or click out of it (focusout) and an action happens. The box then gets removed. The problem is, the user presses enter, but that event is fired and then as the text box is removed the focus out is firing again.
How do I prevent removing the text box from firing the focusout action? I can remove the action totally but the text box could be returned to the document later.
I am trying to read data from excel file and use the same to populate a select menu. If any cells are blank, I want to ignore. But I am unable to do this. The dropdown gets populated with blanks. Following is the peice of code:
var excel_cell = excel_file.ActiveSheet.Cells(i,1); alert(excel_cell); if(excel_cell=='undefined')
I'd like to process several blocks of parallel actions, but in a sequential manner.
As an example:
Thus, I want to process blocks, from which I don't know how long they will take and afterwards have a couple of actions, before beginning with another block. I already tried it through using .queue, .ready() etc, but that leads to very ugly or unusable code..
