I am retrieving data using AJAX requests then parsing the JSON response and dynamically generating the HTML markup. So far I have the following:

I want to add the functionality of displaying an info card (which is basically going to be a dialog box) when the user clicks on the name of some person. I'm not sure how I could keep references of each person's data or how to traverse the data.people collection from inside the click handler. Do I need to hold the data inside hidden fields? Or can I send the data.people[i] as an argument of the click handler?
I have an image next to a checkbox and if either of them are clicked I want to run the same function. I've tried these so far

Code like the below creates almost always more than one and sometimes as many as ELEVEN dialog boxes. This frustrating behavior doesn't seem to be affected at all by whether you choose "OK" or "Cancel".Is this a known issue and if so, is there a workaround?

I cant really figure this out, the only thing i could see messing it up is the javascript:void(0) inside the anchor link but since there is a double click function and a click, it should only be one click.I put autoOpen which i think is also causing it, but i did that so theuser can open it, close it, and open it again so the delay "double click" is saying for the first time initialize and then the second click is opening?? if so how do i get around this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a plugin that I can put before a click event on a button. The click event should occur if the user's time on the page hasn't expired. The plugin should check the user's time, and then stop the click event if the time has expired. With the plugin, I'm essentially putting two click events on the same button, as I need to check the expiration when the button is clicked. The plugin is working on my test page, but I'm afraid that this is contingent on an arbitrary ordering of the click events by jQuery. If I have my click event chained after my plugin, can I be assured that the plugin would always stop the click event if the time is expired? Or could jQuery execute the click event before the time gets checked?

I need a dialog box to appear when a person clicks the add to cart link on my site, where they are asked to fill in certain fields, and then click next, still inside this dialog and then move on to the next part to fill in more options, when done, must show in this dialog still, "thank you added to cart successfully". This all using php, ajax, jquery.
A good example of this, is for example: facebook >> add friend >> friend successfully added >> suggest this person to friends. Where a lot of stuff happens, but each time you click, action to php already been executed, even though the dialog is not yet closed. Basically everything that normally happens when you post, but only in a dialog.

New to JQuery, not new to JS or even ext/js. I need to know how to create a modal dialog box that appears when a user clicks a cell in a table. The modal dialog box should contain, the information in the table row.
If you have something quick and easy, perfect, otherwise, I was hoping you could answer a few questions:
Normally, in ext/js, I'd do something like setting a listener on the div containing the table, then use the js event object to get the row (it's parent), then get the row's children (each of the <TD>s) and walk through and update the form or whatever else I'm displaying.
Is this basically what I'd do here? What are the functions that would probably yield the most readable results (search, find, etc)? Should I/Do I need to install a jQuery extension, or does the base language support this functionality easily?

I want to create/dislpay a modal dialog that contains no default title bar(ie., Web Page Dialog) displayed. Also in the modal dialog I would like to display a dynamic content retrieved from database, as a grid.I dont want to use window.open or showmodaldialog as they display default titles. What I would like to create is a confirm dialog box to pop up when the user clicks the delete button. If the user clicks 'ok' then the php script is actioned, if they click 'cancel' then the box just disappears off the screen.

I have an object that has a click event I'm trying to trigger. However in the click event I have the following if statement:

This if statement allows right clicks to go through and activate but it also prevents me from triggering the event. Any ideas on how to prevent this? If I remove the if statement from the first click function everything works as intended.Here's my example code based off of the trigger event examples:

I want to make a slider that allows my user to split this date range into multiple ranges. So one person can do:
Jan 1 to Jan 5, Jan 6 to Jan 12, Jan 13 to Jan 31 Another person can do: Jan 1 to Jan 21, Jan 22 to Jan 31. How many regions they create doesn't matter to me. The goal is to pull it off with a Javascript slider that works similar to Adobe's gradient creator. Handle's can be added by clicking and removed by pulling it away from the slider. Handle's can also slide around fairly liberally.
Ok I'm returning a csv from a servlet, and I want to initiate a wait cursor that is to close when the open dialog is displayed in the window. I have searched but haven't found anything related to the opening of a dialog.
