JQuery :: Get The Names Of Pictures Of A Folder In Remote?
Jun 30, 2010
I want to use jquery or js code to do the following work:
get the list of files of a folder (files are pictures) that the folder is in remote. and get the names of those pictures and store them in an array.. to create dynamically img element in page.
can javascript do that? without using of a backend language( web server)
Originally I had the following code. What it does is for a user to type the folder name of their choice and then after clicking submit a window will pop open and they will be taken to "C:folder" (assuming the user typed "folder" and such a folder existed). Here is the code in case I wasn't clear.
I am looking for a upload form to upload pictures and then when the pictures are uploaded, then they get emailed to me. Kind of like a contact form but attached is the pictures.
I implemented the plugin of jquery.cycle.all.min.js as suggested in a previous thread by Sitepoint users but now it appears, I can't add more then 13 pictures to the gallery. The gallery works with over 13 pictures, but the prev/next buttons don't appear anymore and don't work. So I was wondering if anyone knows the explanation and solution for this?I rechecked everything and I've got it on multiple pages that over 13 pictures you can't press or see the next/prev buttons!
I'm developing a virtual file cabinet application using JSP. I'm able to display files and folders under specific root folder. My requirement is to display a button next to each server file which when clicked, a browse for folder dialog should popup with the server directory tree structure like below: something like this: Instead of desktop which is client machine folder, i want a jquery control that i can use to display server folders where i've control passing the root directory path to the control depending upon what a user can access.
I'm not to sure if this is a bug or not, but for some reason the jquery setup I am using does not load images when you have the images placed in a sub folder. The setup is a simple content switcher, and it is a combination of fadeOut, .load and fadeIn.[URL]... If you click on Refresh01, it will load and fadeIn the page, which says "TEST01 TEST01.........." great! But an image should have been displayed too.
I have a problem on a Wordpress website: I gave certain pictures (as elements of the layout) rounded corners with a jQuery plugin. Some posted pictures I want to load with Lightbox (or similar). I have used several different Lightbox plugins for Wordpress (Lightbox 2, jQuery Lightbox, Simple Lightbox etc. etc.) but none of them work. I got some weird version of GreyBox working but FireFox gives an error every time before opening it so that's real shady code. As you can see on this page is that I include jQuery for the rounded corners at first but then the Lightbox plugin automatically adds it's own version of jQuery and they cancel each other out. I know for a fact this is the problem because I 'lose' the rounded corners as soon as I turn ON the Lightbox plugin. Once that is turned off the nice rounded corners show again. I tried several different plugins, changing the order of the jQuery code around, making both the rounded corners plugin and Lightbox rely on one single jQuery statement. Nothing has worked so far.
The jQuery Cycle Plugin is very good, My site is usingit on the home page, the code is exactly as on the basic example here: [URL] The example above works very good in all browsers, except of Internet Explorer 9. In Internet explorer, for some reason, it just shows all pictures at the same time (please see the screenshot capture attached). I'm just wondering if anyone else has bumped into the same problem and if there is any way to fix it.
I have a simple list of members names that I pull from my members database for printing members info. I want to show the members profile/family image as well. Because its for printing I want to add the ability to hide/unhide the pics. I put the pics in a div with an ID.
When the left column first loads the vertical scrollbar displays correctly.
The vertical scrollbar is aligned up against the right border of the first column of the table which you can see by looking at the first image, and comparing it to the second.
Once I click on a folder in order to expand its contents, the vertical scrollbar introduces a gap of about 20 pixels as shown in the circle.
I looked at the css tag for the "classes" folder using firebug, and it showed {class ="directory collapsed", class= "directory expanded"} prior to and after expanding the contents of the folder.
I did a global regex search, within the project hierarchy, for (collapsed|expanded) and could not find any css that showed any margin-right for expanded, nor could I find any css at all related to "directory (collapsed|expanded)".
The only thing I found was that jqueryFileTree.js contained a function bindTree(t) with some code that toggled (collapsed|expanded):
Does anybody have a clue what is causing the gap once I click on a folder, and how to fix the problem?
Even if close the folder once the gap is there, I can't get rid of it unless I reload the page.
I am trying to use asp for remote validation instead of php. But it did not work. This is whatI tried. $(document).ready(function() { var validator = $("#Member_Form").validate({ rules: { Member_Name: { required: true, minlength: 2, remote: "users.asp" }, }, messages: { Member_Name: { required: "Enter a username", minlength: jQuery.format("Enter at least {0} characters"), remote: jQuery.format("{0} is already in use") }, }}); Also how is the member name passed to the asp page. I tried reading it as query string. But it did not work.
Basically i want to grab some data from the royal mail(UK) site, to use within a CMS, so the sales team can easily find the tracking info about a customers order.
Royal mail have recently allowed get requests which populates the track and trace form field and auto submits the page via a 302 redirect e.g. royalmail.com/portal/rm/track?trackNumber=x
With X being the tracking number. Try: [URL]
(the links above should have www and http etc on but sitepoint won't allow to post them like this because of the spam filters)
So what i would like to do, if it is possible, is to use jquery to grab that page and possible grab a certain paragraph (in this case the first p of the class "track-right-box") so that the sales team don't have to go to the site every time they want to trace the order.
Now a figured i could use $.load or $.get in jquery to do this but firebug is throwing up the error: Access to restricted URI denied" code: "1012
Which i'm guessing is something to do with the security setting on firefox.
I am looking to build a slideshow (basic, with next/previous options, e.g jquery cycle) but I would like it to get the images from a specific folder. So, whenever I want the slideshow updated, I would simply drop the files in a folder and that would do it.
Would this require a php script? If yes, direct me to somewhere to find out more...Or if there are other ways.
I'm sure I'm missing something basic, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If I have an xml doc where the parent node and child nodes contain elements with the same name ("name" in this case), how would I go about just getting the client's name? Here is a slimmed down version of the structure:
