I am using just three components of jquery - Datepicker, Slider and Autocomplete. To download jquery to client machine I use google CDN which downloads two js files which takes time to download and most of the data are not useful for me as I am using only 3 widgets of jquery. I want to download only the part of jquery relevent to my 3 widgets. How should I achieve this?

My goal is to get some HTML content including some UI widgets and other stuff via an ajax call. To clarify my goal and the strange behavior, I attached some HTML files, that you can run for yourself. Open the index.html will show you some UI widgets, which are pulled from the ajax.html via ajax. When you scroll to the bottom you can see the same content inserted a second time. But this time, the widgets are not "rendered". It looks if the "button()" calls etc. are not executed.
The only difference is the way I insert the result of the ajax call. The first time I insert the hole content received by the ajax call, the second time I only insert the content of a special div. The goal in this is to get various chunks of content with one ajax request and replace "div#one" and "div#two" with different parts of my site. Which is not working. Is it generally okay to receive html content which has some script parts to be executed via ajax and what is wrong with my second approach?

I'm using jquery to improve user experience on a website I'm building Some of these bits of jquery work much better (more consistantly) if I launch them on a .load (rather than a .ready)
There are several external widgets (things like a review summary from trip advisor) some of which take an age to load forcing the page to hang

Is there any way to ignore these external widgets and load the page (initially) without them and then just let them turn up in their own sweet time? Could I wrap them in a div (with a class) and somehow except that from the .load event? or am I going to have to resort to iframes?
I need to have a submit input button automatically start a download when clicked, but also redirect to an additional "information" page. Since I'm not sure if this can simply be solved with HTML or must use some Javascript.

I am planing on changing this to use a delegated event method but this raised the following question...Which is more expensive navigating the DOM, or adding event listeners?[code]I need to handle the click event of buttons 'b1', 'b2' & 'b3', a set of these buttons can be found in each 'a1' container but not always in the same nested position. To handle the events I need to know the class of the button clicked and the id of its 'a1' container. Would it be more efficient to:
A ) Add just one listener to the 'main' div, having to find the 'a1' containers id by inspecting each parentNode of srcElement until an 'a1_*' match is found.
B ) Add a listener to each 'a1' container, the id of the container can be easily passed as an argument.
I have a page, that will contain up to a couple hundred different widgets on it, that an individual will be able to browse through and choose the size and quantity of the ones they want. Each widget will have form fields associated with it: "size" (small, medium, large) and "quantity", with a "total cost" field underneath that. As the individual looks through the widgets, choosing the size and quantity of the ones they want, I'd like for the "total cost" field to be updated under each widget. I'd also like a "total order cost" field that sums up all the costs of the widgets they want.
I need the script to basically say:
If size = small, then multiply $1 by the quantity.
If size = medium, then multiply $2 by the quantity.
If size = large, then multiply $3 by the quantity.

Below is a javascript function from my website that loops through nodes in an XML file retrieving certain information about those who joined in the current month/year. The part in red creates a link which when clicked runs a function called show() with the relevant i variable value e.g. show(2) for the second node if that is relevant. Anyway the red part works in Chrome but not Internet Explorer (surprise surprise). I did some research which says that .setattribute is not allowed in IE. How can I change the red code to create links for the relevant records which works in IE?

I am trying to get started using JQuery, but I find I can't even get to lesson #1. When I go to jquery.com and click to download the latest version (or any version) it doesn't "download" anything. It opens the file as a webpage in my browser and I see all the JQuery in one big string. Why won't the file just download? Is it the browser I am using? Is it my Mac?

Choosing the minified production version doesn't get me a gzip download but simply displays the full unminified, unzipped code in the browser window. Choosing the full-size development version gets me exactly the same (as maybe it's meant to do). Is this just a Firefox issue? How have others gone about downloading the minified gzipped version? Apologies if this has already been answered. I found nothing relevant by searching the forums and the whoel site.

My requirement is "when I click on download button the one popup should appear for showing progress values". For this I need to implement progress bar for showing correct progress of Downloading file(e.g. 10%, 20%, 30%.... 100%) not any static image. AsI know about the progress bar UI but in this I need to send value to progress bar, but how I will get that value.
