From any page, I want to be able to call a JS function that will do the equivelant of select all, and copy. This data will then be posted to a page that will log it.
This would be easy using copy/paste functionality but I don't want to screw-up users copy/paste buffer. Anyone have an example of how to retrieve all text with similar formatting of copying page to notepad without using copy/paste functionality?
I want to be able to copy certain text in a div class and copy it to another div. The div in question gets automatically generated by a wordpress plugin, and its called either .rating inactive or .voting. The text that gets generated is called, Rating: 4.5 / 5, I only want to be able to pick up the rating given by the user, in this example 4.5 then copy it to another div. It needs to do it automatically, with no onclick etc. Attachments rating.JPG Size : 20.93 KB Download : 287

I'm creating the backend part of a slideshow of pictures. It initially has no slide, and the form has to display just the group of fields for one slide.
There is a select field for "number of slides" with an onchange handler, which depending on its value, will display more groups of fields, for other slides, or remove the remaining ones. So I want to copy an original group and append it to the container.
The problem is that all the fields have an index, in order to identify which slide they belong to.
I have 2 sortable lists, #pieces and #grid. I want to drag items from #pieces and add them to #grid without removing them from #pieces. That way I could add any number of any item in #pieces to #grid. The current code i have is:

I have an array of reference points on a canvas which should remain intact and reusable for repeated 'games'. I need a function to make a duplicate of myArray and call it pool, which I can have jQuery manipulate, such as remove indices from, without ever tampering with myArray.
Do I use: var myArray = ['string1','string2',...] $(myArray).map(function) { return this = pool; })
Or perhaps: var myArray = ['string1','string2',...] (function(makepool){function(.map(myArray) { return this = pool; });});
Then call: var pool = ' ' $makepool() And refer to the new element as $(pool)
I have created a form that includes billing and shipping information. When the user clicks the checkbox next to "Shipping Information is the same as Billing Information" the form should copy the contents filled in the shipping fields to the billing fields. All works well, except in Internet Explorer 7, I get an object expected error. I'm using jQuery JavaScript Library v1.4.2.
how to copy an input field to an input field using a check box, what I want to do is copy data from an ID that has been populated with data using ajax and then select which data I want to copy depending on the drop down option selected. I can get the drop down box to alert the same data back that I want to copy but I can't display that data inside the input field.
step by step:
1. search for data with ajax and populate ID with data
2. use drop down box to select data to copy and copy it to input field
Tutorial I read
HTML CODE
This is the ID that already has data retrieved using ajax.
I have a problem with the drag and drop function. I would like to drag a div and when I drop it I want a copy of the div to append to the area and I want to be able to do the same process over and over again. Example: [URL]. I want my div to behave the same way but without the "sortable" function, instead I want to put the div wherever I want. I have tried to do just that for several days, without success.
I am studying jQuery lately and I'm loving it. I already know how to copy form values from input text A to input text B. Here come the part where I am stuck and struggling -- how am I able to copy the selected value from<select> field to <input text="radio"> field?
I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?
What happens if you do the following? - That is deep copy a jQuery selector.
[Code]...
I'm concerned whether the myObj.selector object will deep copy the whole of jQuery as part of the process. My initial tests did not show any obvious speed hit, but it is rather a basic test right now.
I'm working on a webpage which is completely self-sufficient. This means if you copied the source you would be able to load it locally without any glitches from your computer. I want to embed a "Save As" feature into this document using only javascript or jquery. For various reasons I do not have access to a server-side language to perform this action. I've done some research but can't seem to find a definitive way to do this.
My goal: User clicks "Save As HTML" button which triggers jquery to copy the source of the page and present it to the user as a mypage.html download. My fall back approach will be to open a new tab with just the desired html and instruct the user to manually "File -> Save As". However, this is very undesirable and I would like to find a solution to fulfill the goal above.
