JQuery :: Checking For Radio Button Value, Still Not Working As Expected
May 10, 2010
I'm checking for a radio button's value and hiding/showing a node based on that value, but it's not working right. Two radio buttons: one's value is yes, the other no. If you click on yes, the div shows up. When you click no, it hides, so that works.
But I have a list of checkboxes that also may or may not show that element based on the radio button selection, and it's this part that isn't working.
$('[name="'+obj.name+'"]:checkbox').click(function () {
aThroughS = ($('[name="'+obj.name+'"]:checkbox:lt(19):checked').length > 0),
tSelected = ($('[name="'+obj.name+'"]:checkbox:eq(19):checked').length > 0),
rSelected = ($('[name="'+obj.name+'"]:checkbox:eq(17):checked').length > 0),
[Code].....

I have a<button>element inside of which I have 2<span>elements. I have 2 attached jquery click event handlers for each of the span elements so I can do whatever I like for each click. This is all working fine in Chrome and the click event is captured in the correct order: first on any of the span elements and then the event bubbles up to the parent button element. The problem is that in Firefox the click event does not fire for any of the span elements, just the button event handler logs the event as being fired.[URL]..

I wrote a simple javascript function but I cant get it to work upon a button click event because it keeps telling me that "object is expected" ? could you please identify where the error is? Heres my code

alert("Hello world"); }

I'm trying to reset a form so that no radio buttons are selected. The code works in Firefox 3.5.7, Chrome 3, and Safari 4.0.3. However, in IE 8 only the 1st radio button is correctly cleared. If I check the 2nd radio button and click the clear button, the 2nd radio button IS NOT cleared. The following HTML should reproduce the issue. Can others reproduce this? [code]...

I have an input: <input type="radio" id="foo" name="bar" value="baz" style="display: none;"/>
And I am trying to check the radio button using:
$(function() {
$("#foo").attr('checked','checked')});
It doesnt seem to work. I have tried
$("#foo").attr('checked',true) and no luck.
I am using Chrome. I have looked at all the sources on the web, and the above two methods were the general solutions, but neither work for me for some reason.

I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.

There are no errors and the total is still outputted but the number is off and if I change the radio to the other option it doesn't change the total. Here is my code,
function calculateBudget()
{
var i;

This page has lots of records based on the number of record data in database. it may print one row in the screen or multiple records, with a radio button in each record. user has to select one radio button to view more details of the record. the radio button has to selected if the user wishes to see more detials of a record.I have used the following code for validation.
Code:
function fnValidate()
{
for(var i =0;i<form1.radioType.length;i++)
[code]....
This validation is working when the number of records is more than 1. If the record is only one, then the validation is not working.Even if the user selects the only radio button on the screen, the validation is failing and does not allow to proceed further.

I am trying to create some divs that hide and show when a link is clicked. There may be multiples on the same page and it each needs to functionindependently.
I've added it to jsfiddle : [URL]
When the user clicks a show more link the first time nothing happens. If you do it again the div expands as planned (great!). If you do it again to close it slides back up but then bounces straight down again (Not Great!). I can't figure out what I've done wrong!. Eventually I'm going to add more functions to show some hidden data as well.

I have the following code which aims to change the color of a parent div when the user unselects the radio button. However it doesn't work.
<div class="jquerycorner"><input type="radio" name="hat" value="4" onblur="if(!this.checked) { this.parentNode.style.backgroundColor='#000000';}">10</div>
However the following code works when I try to detect radio button selection.

I'm trying to create a scroll bar through javascript with the help of jquery. What I'm trying to accomplish is:1. When the user mouse's down, it fires off an event (mouse move) and allow the user to scroll.2. When the user mouse's up, it should unbind the event, so that the mouse move is not in effect any more.But unbind is not working as expected. I looked up the documentation, and it seems correct.

What I need to figure out is a way to make sure each image thats showing up gets one vote - and the person cannot vote on the same answer for pic2 and pic3 (ie: if they vote "spoon" for pic1, I need it to give a "please vote again" message if they click the same answer for pic2 or pic3).

I have the following javascript code:
Code JavaScript:
for (var i=0; i < myRadio.length; i++) {
if (myRadio[i].checked) {
myChecked = 1;
[Code]....
This works fine when I have more than 1 radio button. However for just a single radio button it does not work. I don't know how many radio buttons I will have since they are being created from a mysql query.
I'm very bad with javascript, so how should I amend the code so that it also works with only one radio button? I just need to check if they are trying to submit the form without selecting any radio buttons.

I have a little checkbox that when checked is suppose to "check" a number of radio buttons.
Problem is I get a js error ("Object doesn't support this property or method") when I click the checkbox that calls my check all function.
HTML Code:
<tr bgcolor="#eeeeee" class="form_header">
<td align="center" valign="middle">Database</td>
<td align="center" valign="middle">Primary <input type="checkbox" name="checkPrimaryAll" onClick="checkPrimaryAll();" style="background-color: #EEEEEE;"></td> <--- This is the line in error
<td align="center" valign="middle">Backup <input type="checkbox" name="checkBackupAll" onClick="checkBackupAll();" style="background-color: #EEEEEE;"></td>
<td align="center" valign="middle">Remove <input type="checkbox" name="checkall" onClick="checkAll();" style="background-color: #EEEEEE;"></td>
<td align="center" valign="middle">Current DBA(s)</td>
</tr>
...
<script type="text/javascript">
function enableDisable(objectNme, myId)
{
var remCheck = document.getElementById(myId);
if(remCheck.checked == true)
{

eval("document.forms[0]." + objectNme + "[1].disabled = true;");
}
else if(remCheck.checked == false)

}
else
{
alert("Error");
}
}
function checkAll()

var lng = document.AssociateDBAForm.remove_dba.length;
var select_all = document.AssociateDBAForm.checkall.checked;
var myForm = document.AssociateDBAForm;
var value;
for(var i = 0; i < lng; i++)
{
if(select_all == true)

value = myForm.remove_dba[i].value;

value = "ADD_" + value;
eval("myForm." + value + "[0].disabled = false;");
eval("myForm." + value + "[1].disabled = false;");
}
}
}
function checkPrimaryAll() <--- This is the function it calls
{
var myForm = document.AssociateDBAForm;
alert("myForm " + myForm);
var lng = myForm.elements.length;
alert("lng " + lng);
var select_all = myForm.checkPrimaryAll.checked;
alert("select_all " + select_all);
for(var i = 0; i < lng; i++)
{
if(select_all == true)
{
myForm.checkPrimaryAll.checked = true;
myForm.checkPrimaryAll.title = "Unselect all rows";
thisElement = myForm.elements[i];
if(thisElement.name.substring(0, 4).equals("ADD_"))
{
thisElement[0].checked = false;
}
}
else if(select_all == false)
{
myForm.checkPrimaryAll.checked = false;
myForm.checkPrimaryAll.title = "Select all rows";
thisElement = myForm.elements[i];
if(thisElement.name.substring(0, 4).equals("ADD_"))
{
thisElement[0].checked = true;
}
}
}
}
</script>
As you can see I tried putting in alerts to try to debug, but it never hits them, even if it's the first line in the function.
