My problem is

JQuery :: Element Overflows Containing Block When Parent Border/padding Change - Not When Parent's Margin Changes

Sep 24, 2011

Demonstration page: [url]

Adjust the CSS margins of the BODY element with the first slider. The yellow P (paragraph) element resizes to fit its smaller containing block, as I would expect.

Then, adjust the CSS border or padding of the BODY element with the second and third sliders. The P element does not resize, though its origin changes. Instead, it overflows its containing block.

Finally, adjust the margins again. The P element snaps back into its containing block.

As you can see from the source, this is jQuery 1.6.4 and jQueryUI 1.8 pulled from googleapis.com.

Edit: Client is Google Chrome16.0.889.0 dev-m.

JQuery :: NodeIndex - Determine Position Of Selected Elements In Parent

Aug 27, 2009

I was editing some javascript code yesterday that happened to use jquery. Part of the code selected two elements via jquery. Then the original author used nodeIndex to determine the position of each of these nodes in their parents. I could not find any documentation on nodeIndex on the jQuery site or anywhere else on the internet. It seemed to work in IE8, but I did not see the property from FireBug in FireFox 3.5. So I removed the call to nodeIndex and used a for loop to calculate my own equivalent of the nodeIndex. Is nodeIndex officially supported or meant for internal use? Is it documented anywhere? [URL]

JQuery :: Check Whether All Radio Buttons Have Been Selected?

Jun 21, 2010

I have a form that will dynamically place a number of radio button groups on the page. I don't want the user to be able to submit the form until a value has been chosen for ALL fields. I have hidden the submit button with the though of showing it again once ALL fields have been checked. My code so far...

$(document).ready(function () {
//Hide the submit button
$('#MainContent_sbmtButton').hide();
//Change background of question to show clearly which questions have been answered

[code]....

This doesn't work as expected. It shows the submit button when any of the radio buttons are clicked.

Finding Which Script A Function Belongs To In The DOM

Oct 16, 2007

I would like to find out what script file a function belongs to. Better yet, I would like to know all of the functions that a javascript file declares.

I know that all javascript functions (and global variables) that are declared in a javascript file are added to the DOM. (This is easy to varify by adding a function to a js file and then adding that file to the page and then doing a for (all in window) document.write(all + '<br/>'); (or just looking in firebug) and seeing that your function is there.) What I want to know is what file that function belongs to.
