Adjust the CSS margins of the BODY element with the first slider. The yellow P (paragraph) element resizes to fit its smaller containing block, as I would expect.
Then, adjust the CSS border or padding of the BODY element with the second and third sliders. The P element does not resize, though its origin changes. Instead, it overflows its containing block.
Finally, adjust the margins again. The P element snaps back into its containing block.
As you can see from the source, this is jQuery 1.6.4 and jQueryUI 1.8 pulled from googleapis.com.
Edit: Client is Google Chrome16.0.889.0 dev-m.
I have 4 Div-Boxes next to each other , which, when I move my mouse over them, get bigger.
Looks basically like this: [box1] [box2] [box3] [box4]
The problem is, that when I move over box 1 or 2, they grow BEHIND the other boxes... So, something with the zindex isnt working properly..I am using the animate function, but I can't seem to use zIndex with animate, because Internet Explorer goes nuts when I do it ...This was my original code, which didnt work, as IE seems to fuck it up, when using zindex in animate
$('.infobox').mouseenter(function() {
$(this).animate( {width: 450, height: 300, zIndex:50},{duration: 'slow', easing: 'easeOutBack'})
[code]....
So I thought, I would use addClass() and removeClass(), to change the zIndex.
CSS classes:
.indexontop{
z-index:50;
border: 1px solid #ff0000; /* for testing purpose!! */
}
[code]....
The problem is, that it does not seem to add that class!!For testing purpose I added a red border to the .indexontop - Class, but no border appears..
I am trying to accomplish two things on this demonstration page.
1. Have a image slideshow
2. On mouseover the slideshow temporarily stops and a caption comes up and stays until mouseout. At which point the slideshow begins again.
Currently right now the slideshow cycles, but the caption part is erratic. It shows on document load and also continues to show on mouseout. Furthermore if you mouseover the image several times it and then move away it keeps firing.
I have a dropdown with various options in, when you select an option it changes the background image of a div. However I would like to animate this change to a fade effect.
The code I have for this at the moment is. (The div bgimgtest has a default background attached to it (images/DELETE/FAV1.jpg).)
<div class="bgimgtest"></div>
<select id="shirt_type">
<option>1</option>

So, I'm new to jQuery, but have a pretty good understanding. Still, I've come across an issue that I'm not quite sure how to resolve. I'm using wordpress, and have a .swf inside of a div, "player." The player class has no height spec, as the height of the .swf is different depending on the page. What I need to do is detect the height of the .swf on each page, and then apply that number as padding-top to another class?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on an IE7 CSS fix for a rather large form. Long story short, I have each input wrapped in a div, all in the same class. What I need, is to have each div define a padding-right value that is equal to the width of that div. I'm fairly new to jQuery, so I'm in need of some help with the syntax. Here's what I currently have, but it keeps printing a padding-right value of "0".
$('.form_label').each(function(){
$(this).css('padding-right', function() {
var w = $(this).width();

the "li.sf-with-ul" class has extra padding which i can't seem to find where its coming from.[URL]..menu items with UL under them (sub items) have padding that makes the items different from the normal links. i would like to get rid of it. i can't find anything related to this in the CSS.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI use the wonderful .animate() method to create a "parallax website". It's still in developpement, but you can see the result : www.ohnewgarden.fr My problem : When you are at the very right, the animate effect reset my left property before animating. Which is weird is that this "reset" is applied only to two layers, without any sense. I'm going crazy !
So if someone could help me, it will be very nice ! It's probably my code which is wrong, but I can't see the mistake.

I said for my defense, I have tried to remove .stop(), tried to change parameters of .stop(), tried to reset (like there) the left property with a .css() method, and I have also tried to animate with "+=" (like there), but nothing works. If you follow to the link I gave, you could see very easily by clicking on "Contact" and after animation by clicking on "Accueil".
I have successfully implemented the Datepicker plugin but am having very difficult problems with the image alignment of the calender icon.
The icon seems to have no padding/margin/spacing between the input box and the image, and is also not aligned correctly.
I have viewed the documentation but can see no reference on how formatting is achieved.. I looked at jquery-ui css (redmond) and can see no reference to how this is aligned.
I have a div that has a negative top margin and a negative right margin. The right margin is because I want to have the div slide onto the page from the right. The top margin is because without it my page height is the height of the visible elements plus the height of the off-screen div.On a button click, I move the div down and then animate it onto the screen from the right. On button click again, I animate the div to the right, off the screen, and then move it up. I also toggle its width & padding so it will appear to grow/shrink as it moves on/off screen. At least that's what I am trying to do. The animation onto the screen looks good, but going off the screen, it appears to happen intantaneously, instead of animatedDoes anyone know how I can fix this?
$(".addPanels").live("click", function(){//now and in the future, show the add panels menu
var thisAddPanelsMenu = $(this).parent().prev(".addPanelsMenu");//get the addPanelsMenu

I'm not sure if this is a style sheet issue or a Javascript issue.
I'm trying to work out a new design for my software's control panel.
The idea is that there are images on the left that you click and that
as you do, DIVs with option links appear and disappear on the right.
Because I want each of the DIVS to appear in the same place, I use
Javascript to set their padding and their height to 0px when they are
invisible. This is working the way I wish in Netscape 7.1 but it is
not working the way I want in IE. Can anyone give me a hint about why?
I have the following code ...

I'll try to explain as best I can, I wasn't able to find anything relevant on this on my searches so I'm guessing it isn't a commonly needed requirement... here goes: For the design of a website I've made all H1's (and a class for any others that require this look) and sub navs have a background colour of black.
This is fine, the 'problem' comes when a line of text is longer than the space it is contained within (this bit also fine), when the line wraps, the last letter/word of the first line and first letter/word of the second line don't respect the padding applied to it's tag (h1, li, a etc.)I have a css solution but I am unable to use it due to it's infeasibility, so I am looking for a js solution.Here is an example of what I'm looking to achieve:
http:[url].....But I need to somehow detect with js the last letter of the first line and the first of the last and then use that to apply a class to each of the offending letters.
I have just been making a JavaScript chat applet, which should open in a new child window. It does all of this fine, and works within Firefox beatifully. However, IE thinks it's necessary to stop my
iFrames from spaning the entire length and width of the Window, and add about 7-8mm of padding/margin to the inside of the Window.
I can't figure out, whether it's adding it to the inside of the window, or the outside of the frame.
Please could someone point out how I might be able to go about removing this padding? It's rediculous. I don't mind the border one bit, but no matter what I do, it's chopping off 14-16mm of the bottom iFrame. The window needs to be resizable, so unfortunately, the bottom iFrame is a
set pixel hight, but the top iFrame works with a percentage (i.e 100% of the frameset surrounding it).
Here's a sample division:
Code:
<div style="padding:0 0 0 40px; background:url(comment-icon.png) left center no-repeat;">some text</div>
I wonder how I can calculate the padding-left:40px dynamically so that any icon I choose the padding-left value changes according to the image width.
I'm setting up a picture album site. When i click on a
thumbnail or a picture, a larger picture pops up in a javascript
window. But it has a space on the top and on the left of my larger pic

window to fit my my pic so there's no space whatsoever around it.

I found this useful script for setting equal column height for divs. But is doesn't account for the padding inside the divs. How to make it calculate the total height including the padding from the heighest column?
Code:
$('#leftcolumn, #content').equalizeHeights();
(function($){
$.fn.equalizeHeights = function(){
return this.height(
Math.max.apply(this,
$(this).map(function(i,e){
return $(e).height()
}).get()
))}
})(jQuery);
I have 2 divs, 1 is just off the screen to the left, and the other visible. the divs contain unordered lists. Now when i click on one of the 'li' list items i would like to slide div 1 to the left off screen and bring div 2 to the right on screen. so this is what i have done so far:
<script>
var swap =0;
$("(#cat)li:first").click(function(){
if(swap==0){
$("#cat").animate({"left": "-=150px"}, "slow");
[Code]..
have this code: $('#showLayers').click(function()
[Code]...
If I add a alert inside the click(), and after the animate, that one is never triggered as well.
I have a big problem, here is the sample of code:
<ul>
<li>
<a href="#"> <img src="#" /> </a>
<div class="info">
[Code]....
So, normaly the div.info element is with css: display:none; And there is displaying only "a" element. But i have a little code of jquery who makes the div.info element showup when the mouse over on the "li" element. And code is working as i expecting, but not in the IE.
var pic = $('ul li');
pic.hover(function(){
$('div.info', this).stop().animate({opacity:'0'}, 600, function(){
[Code]...
This sure has me puzzled since it's usually the other way around. The script below, straight from a book, works in IE, but not in FF, Chrome, or Safari. Can anyone tell me what I'm not doing that would work in the Good browsers
