Does anyone know of a modal plugin that will load Ajax or Iframe content via an 'onclick' function?
I want to implement this in table clicks like so [code]...
Here's my problem code:
document.onclick=handler;
function handler(e) {
//do stuff
var params = "something";
var request = new XMLHttpRequest();
request.open("GET", "http://www.foo.com/bar.php?" + params, true);
[Code]....
Now is user clicks something else but not a link everything works just fine. But if she clicks a link, the bar.php call does not work (never comes to the server). If I change the call to a synchronuous one request.open("GET", [URL] false) also clicking a link works fine. But I would of course prefer the async way.
The "Permission denied" cross site issue.
I have to check from my external domain if a service is running on localhost:8080 of a local machine.
I'm using XMLHttpRequest to do it.
I'm checking a local-web-server, not a file.
Every browser doesn't work, but Firefox. So I'm looking for a work-aorund.
An iframe? a flash swf? an applet java? HTA applications?
A side question is, why does FF work? Because it's a local-web-server?
I'm trying to write a script that open a new window each time someone clicks on inside the <iframe>I'll give an example:
<iframe src='http://www.google.com' onClick="myPopup()"> </ iframe>
<script type="text/javascript">

I'm trying to use onClick in an iframe, but access to the function (defined in the external page) is denied. When I load the page (not-iframed), the function works fine.

I'm creating an AJAX page that is built using a PHP Class, ie the php looks a bit like this: PHP Code:
$wp_page->addjs('../var/savepolicies.js')
$wp_parser->page = "userpolicywindow.php";
$wp_parser->addlink("Home","../index.php","");
$wp_parser->addlink("Logout","javascript:logout();","");
$wp_parser->getpageid("501");

within this page that has been created, there is an AJAX tree folder which calls another page to be loaded into a DIV by AJAX again. Code:

I don't know why it doesn't work because the page has been loaded with the JS file, but as soon as the link is added afterwards it doesn't work. I take it this is because it doesn't know where to find the JS, but how can I overcome this?
I am trying to add an onclick event to a dynamically generated element. This happens in an iframe, but the element is being added to the parent document, and I need to associate the onclick event with a function in the parent document. When I add it from the iframe and then click on the image, I get an error saying the function does not exist.
var img = parent.document.createElement('img');
img.onclick = function() { doSomething() };
parentDiv.appendChild(img); //parentDiv is an element in the parent document
I also tried: img.setAttribute('onclick', 'doSomething(this);'); This worked great in Firefox, but not in IE.
I want to have multiply forms dynamically created on a page with dynamic id's, I have a href and image styled submit button. When user click on the submit button i want to submit a form with AJAX request. I am using following code but nothing happens.

i want to send a simple HTTP-Request to a JavaEE Backend with jQuery. In Chrome/Firefox it works just fine. In IE on the other hand, it does not. IE does not show any error in the console, nor does it show the request in the network tab. Nor does the request receive the backend. So, am i doing someting wrong here?

I am trying to use the regular .ajax functionality and it works great on most browsers but I noticed a phenomena: When I make an ajax request outside the "root" / index file it adds "/" to the end of the request which results in a 404 request... How can I eliminate this behavior and how does url really work in the ajax request ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just cannot get the html to load for each linked button to the Iframe. If I remove the "onclick" command for the backround images, the links load to the Iframe. If I leave the "onclick" command in there only the background changes.So, I would assume there is a conflicting issue with loading the "a href" and the "onclick" commands together. Maybe I need to know how to do multiple "onclick" commands...suggestions?

I'm loading an html page into an iframe from an onclick event. The procedure is to put a number into a textfield and then click a button that loads a separate file into the iframe. The number is used as a url parameter to grab certain info from mysql (locations.php?sku= the number ).On first click the page loads in the iframe with no info at all, then if I reload the page by way of the reload button in browser and then click the button a second time, it works. If I change the number and click the button nothing changes until I reload and click the button again. This is the code I'm working with---
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
url = document.regionbar.sku.value;
function doClick() {[code]......
I am trying to use onclick to add text to a textarea, the function I am using is:
function addtxt(input,add) {
var obj=document.getElementById(input)
var txt=document.createTextNode(add)
obj.appendChild(txt)

and the line that I use to call the function - through php- is:
<a onclick="addtxt('post','$code');">
<img src="smiles/$smile" alt="$smilename" border="0" style="cursor: pointer;"></a>
it seems to work in IE but not in firefox, why is that?
I have this code, and it works fine in windows but not in mac, does anybody know why?

Whenever I use onclick in javascript (not with onclick attribute in html) it doesn't work. I've never been able to get it to work... ever! Here is the code I'm using
Code:
el = document.getElementById("foo");
el.onclick = function () { return false; };
Am I doing something wrong?
I don't understand why the image swapping doesn't work when I click the 2nd time code...
On the first click it swaps to the 2nd image but on the 2nd click it doesn't swap back to the first.
I'm sure that "insert.php" works because I've tried the
<form method="POST" target="insert.php">
And it adds to the database through "insert.php". But when I remove the
'method="POST" target="insert.php"'
And replace it with $.ajax() it won't work.
Here's the code:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#submit_wall").submit(function() {
var message_wall = $('#message_wall').attr('value');
var message_wall = message_wall.replace(/</g, '<');
var message_wall = message_wall.replace(/>/g, '>');
var message_wall = message_wall.replace(/<.*?>/g, '');
var FeedUNum = $('#FeedUNum').attr('value');
var FeedConn = $('#FeedConn').attr('value');
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "insert.php",
data: "FeedUnum="+FeedUNum+"&message_wall="+message_wall+"&FeedConn="+FeedConn,
success: function(){
$("ul#wall").prepend('<li style="display: none;">'+message_wall+'</li>');
$("ul#wall li:first").fadeIn();
}});
return false;
});});
I'm having some trouble trying to get a simple GET to work.
I have a page called 1.php with the following code:
This all works fine when I link directly to the page (I.e [url]), however when I load this page through jquery (so the url becomes [url]) the GET functionality stops working.

I have a "contact us" <a> with the id 'contact' on the main page, which is supposed to change the source file of an iframe to the contact page. Except when I click on "contact us" nothing happens.
I've tried to get this to work several different ways, and suspect that the problem is purely syntax, but I just haven't been able to figure it out.
Here's the code:
The snippet on the main page (index.html):
<div id="linkListContact" class="LinkList">
<img id="linkListContactBg" class="SideBarBgImg" src="Assets/Backgrounds/SideBar/ContactBg.png"></img>
<span>

The setIFrame function is used to call the content initially when the page loads, and is working beautifully in that context. You can see the problem in action at the actual site: [URL]
I finally got the below script working in Firefox and was really pumped about it until I realized it didn't load in Google chrome or Safari. What this script does is its a dual onclick event which makes a hidden div appear and loads an iframe within the now visible div. Here is the code, how to make this work in other browsers.
Here is the header code:
<SCRIPT type="text/javascript">
<!--
var state = 'none';
function showhide(layer_ref) {
if (state == 'block') {
state = 'none';
} else {
state = 'block';
} if (document.all) { //IS IE 4 or 5 (or 6 beta)
eval( "document.all." + layer_ref + ".style.display = state");
} .....
Here is the code on the page where a link click shows the hidden div and loads the iframe contained.
<p><a href="#" onclick="showhide('div1');return loadIframe('ifrm1', '[URL]');
">show/hide me</a></p></td></tr>
<div id="div1" style="display: none; position: fixed; z-index:4;
width: 1010px; height: 500px; left: 5%; top: 15%; background-color: #f0f0f0;
border: 1px solid #000; padding: 10px;"><iframe name="ifrm1"
id="ifrm1" width="100%" height="90%" scrolling="yes" frameborder="0">
Sorry, your browser doesnt support iframes.
</iframe><p><a href="#" onclick="showhide('div1')">close</a></div>';
Are there any compatibilty issues associated with teh following command?
<div onclick="open('http://www.mysite.com.htm','','')">Main page </div
