View 8 RepliesI need a way of loading api scripts on the fly. ie. if the user clicks on a link the javascript would suck in the api script depending on what the user has selected. By api script I mean:
<script src="http://api.maptp.map24.com/ajax?appkey=blahblahblahthisisakey" type="text/javascript"></script>
I am using the maps24 api to build an address finder - ie. put your postcode/zipcode in and populate the rest of the address details. For some reason you need to load a different js file for each region (north america, europe, etc). I want my users to click on their region and have the <script> tags inserted into the head. I have done this using javascript but the functions don't seem to be available. I am assuming that the page needs to refresh??
Does anyone know away of making the javascript functions available to use without having to refresh the page? In other words, loading javascript files on the fly.
I got an [object error] from IE 7.0.5730.11 when moving the <script
src="..." type="text/javascript" /tag from the <headpart to the
<bodysection of a HTML file.
Is not possibile to include Javascript code via <script src="..."
type="text/javascript" /from the <bodysection, instead from the
<headone? If yes, anyone has any idea of which the problem could be?
If not, how can I programmatically include a javascript external file
inside the <bodypart of a HTML file, for example, using Javascript
to some particular native functions?
I'm working on a website incorporating facebook plugins (widgets) but am running into the issue of having to statically input a page's url rather than dynamically including the current page's URL in the facebook "like" code. I have tried numerous methods to no avail. The code merely loads the FB's own source like page as the href page instead of the page the like code is on.Here are the codes and my desired output: This is predefined FB code
Code:
<fb:like href="LINK" layout=button_count></fb:like>
I dont know php, perl, python, asp.net, or any other coding, but have dabbled in JS over the years and know minimal coding. So I Googled for hours and finally came up with the correct location.href use for when you're trying to use it in a function only and not a document.write format. So I came up with this code:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
function AutoLink() {
location.href = location.href;[code].....
I am seeking a method to load one JS file directly into another,
*without* having to dynamically write <scripttags.
Is there any method whereby I can call only one external JS file using a
single <scripttag, but have that external JS file insert into ITSELF
the contents of five others? Code:
I am trying to include external .php file into .js file using document.write('<scr'+'ipt src="http://www.xyz.com/store.php" type="text/javascript"></scr'+'ipt>')
its working fine in mozilla firefox and chorm but its not working on internet explorer, version 8. I havent tried with other version but on this version its not working.
I have also tried loading this file dynamic using DOM functions. appendChild() but its the same result.
I have a file links .js. In it i have this code
Javascript Document
On another page, hazards.html i use this code to call that function
But it doesnt display, nothing does. What am i doing wrong?
I want users to specify external sites, a) include them, and let b) users annotate certain paragraphs of text.
a)
As this sites are external (not on the same domain) I cannot use iframes since I cannot select text then, as I understood, right? So I need to create a proxy page which integrates them in the local domain. If this works, I guess the problem are relative urls - does anyone know a good way to correct these? Furthermore, do I need an iframe, or is there another way?
b)
I would like users to be able to select text paragraphs and add a description. Ideally I would get XPath for the selection. Is there a tool/plugin to do this? Like select some text and get the XPath for it?
I currently have this pop-under JavaScript code that basically loads a pop-under upon page load,Is there a JavaScript code that executes both codes above, from an external website, and runs every time the page is loaded?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to give a code snippet to partnering websites, so that the script on their page draws from a page on my server. I think "quote of the day" type widgets use this.I copied this code from a site and it works for them, but when I switch the url to a php page (containing only text wrapped in a div) on my site, it doesn't work. I realize this might also be a php question, but I didn't want to cross-post. Does it have something to do with the "jscript=1" variable being passed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some code that works great when used inline (inside of an html page). The inline code looks like this and has an onchange = "gotoTest(this);" as part of the select element
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$("select#RU").bind("change", gotoTest);
[code].....
If you give an element an inline property, as in
<div id='testDiv' style='display:block'>blah</div>
then an alert(document.getElementById('testDiv').style.display) will of course give you "block." But, if you give the element a property through an external CSS file, the same alert comes up empty!
This is causing me big problems as I've discovered and is ridiculous. Can javascript read properties from external CSS sheets?
How do you include javascript in the definition of a jsp TLD. for example if i have a TLD called <mytld: body everytime I include this in a page, I also want some javascript to be included.
Is this done in the Java definition of the tld element?
I have a website where I need to fill its contents after retrieving
some data from another system (not a DB, but you can think like it).
I know the nature of the data, but the order that it is retrieved is
random, and there is no way to order it. Therefore, it is giving me
some pain to produce the html code.
I was thinking of having the following javascript to place my html
code. Here, "rightImg" is the ID of a DIV tag where I want to position
my code. The code should be the content of the htmlBody variable.
function addTopRightImage() {
var htmlBody = '.'
if (document.all) {
document.all('rightImg').innerHTML = htmlBody;
}
else if (document.getElementById) {
document.getElementById('rightImg').innerHTML = htmlBody;
}}
However, if I set the variable as it is shown bellow, the page is not
loaded as I want:
var htmlBody = '<jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/Standard.jsp"
flush="true"><jsp:param name="id" value="${myid}" /></jsp:include>'
Does anyone have a clue of what is going wrong? Maybe an alternative
solution?
I'm looking for a way to include javascript files from within a ".js"
file. This would allow me to only need to link to one ".js" file, and
yet still organize my functions into non gargantuan files for easy
editing. I'm hoping there is some sort of include or import directive
that I could use. Or if no such directive exists, I'm wondering if
anyone has written one which I could use.
I need to do this without any server side scripting. For now at least,
the html is being used locally with local files. Code:
I need a JS validation code for validating numbers such that,Empty space and characters(including + and -) shouldn't be allowed,there should be only one decimal point,spaces and characters between numbers also shouldn't be permitted.

This works fine when I place this code under the html in the main source, but if I try to add this Jquery code to an external js sheet it doesnt seem to work?
Currently my js sheet is called in the header, when I move this link to the footer of my page the code works again, so Im guessing this has something to do with where the jquery code is placed in relation to the code Im trying to hide?
How I can keep my js in the header but still make the content disappear on click?
I have the following code to load an external page into a "holder" div on my main site. It works fine in Firefox but when a user views it in Internet Explorer 7 it seems to hang for a minute or two and then starts to work normally. Also when someone resizes the browser window the site seems to hang again. Is there something wrong with the code below or is it just the limitations of jquery/javascript in Internet Explorer?
The basket.cfm loads content from a database and the loadMyBasket function is called when a user clicks a link on a different part of the site.
The code above gets loaded automatically when the site first loads and also gets called when the user clicks a link to update the basket.
Does javascript have acces to source code of previous page when I open a
page from the same domain with:
window.open("new_page_with_script","_self","");?
window.opener.document.innerHTML doesn't work ;(
Pls help me in getting a javascript code which resizes the web page to full screen.
The solution should not be of popup type as it gets blocked by most browsers now.
Is it possible to
a) send F11 key using javascript while the page is loading.
or
b) Pure javascript which resizes the page to full screen.
Pls take care that the solution also works with Firefox.
I am a total noob to JavaScript, and i am trying to call a php page using a OnClick but im not having much look.All i am trying to do is call this file in the background PHP Code:
add_wish.php?uin=343
I don't want the page to load as it is just a blank page, it just updates a MySql Database.i have tried using
onclick="javascript:attachFile('add_wish.php?uin=343')
but its not working
i need to do a click on a picture in an iframe without using a mouse
click because this iframe is not visible.
Thus i wrote this :
function updtframe() {
strButton = document.getElementByName("submit").value;
document.getElementById("htmle").contentWindow.document.body.innerHTML
= strButton...;
}
And there I'm stopped idon't know how to make a click.
But I am doing both front and backend for a project and having an issue with a jquery slider which, when inserted, is breaking 2 other js scripts in the page, including my main menu.Can anyone point me to a resource that outlines best practices for working with more than one js library and/or raw js .I'm doing some tests on the order of the scripts right now, but wanted to put a feeler out there to see if someone has dealt with this before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan we override windows regional settings (including numeral symbols) in HTML pages?
Explanation:Go to control panel >> Regional and language options >> Regional options and Change Locale to Arabic (saudia arabia). Then click customize and change the 'Digit substituion' option to national.
This would cause all the number symbols throughout your computer system to be changed from latin english '1234567890' to arabic number symbols '١٢٣٤٥٦٧٨٩٠ '. Even if you open up an HTML page, the numbers in it would be displayed in Arabic symbols.
I want my HTML pages to somehow override that customized locale behaviour. Despite having the windows regional settings locale and number symbols in Arabic...I want HTML page to display numbers in English Latin '1234567890'.
i have a .js file .can i use php code in external js file.
if yes how we can.
I'm wrestling with this bit of code that almost works but does not. I'm only guess is that I need to find a way to edit the actual CSS document from the outside... which I'm assuming isn't possible. Is it? I've got a basic CSS Rollover effect going on. The kind that changes the background-position on hover. However I've defined the actual background image with PHP (a custom field in Wordpress) as a style="..." in the <a> tag. When I define the background-image in the CSS it works! When I define the background-image as a style="..." it does not work. Can I use javascript or something to edit the actual CSS document?
