I'm trying to finish off this website, but I need to add a script that allows me to click on a link and information is displayed next to it. There are about 20 links. This is our company website and this is what I want to re-create [URL] so when you click on a link, info comes up for what ever you click.

I've got some swf files linked to my website, and currently, when clicking on the link, it opens the content in a new window, however I want to make the file downloadable when the link is clicked, how to do this?

When a link of class .edit is clicked, the overlay covers the page for an instant, then a redirect occurs to the page that should be loaded in the modal box (instead of the page being loaded in the modal). It's probably a small mistake as I can get it working the way I want using jqm 'trigger:a.edit'. The problem with this approach is that I lose the livequery power (links from ajax loaded content won't fire jqm).
I need to track the number of times a link is clicked/file downloaded & capture this info in the database.

I've managed to implement the jQuery File Tree [URL] on my site. I am now trying to figure out how to add a function when one of the files is clicked (separate functions for different file types). On the link provided, it explains how to add function to files, but considering my lack of knowledge in Javascript and jQuery, I was wondering where in the code I should put the function. I'm ok building and display a modal window, but how do I make it display where the user clicked in the window, as opposed to making it centered in the window?Also, how do I tell the modal to open to the right if the user clicks too far left in the document and vice versa? Or is that a default action?
