what im trying to do here is create a dynamic hidden iframe and write a form into it and submit. this approach works in FireFox but not in IE7, below is the code im using
document.forms[form].appendChild(isProcessFQ);
var ifText = document.getElementById(rootElID).innerHTML;
var ifSubmit = document.createElement('iframe');[code]........
But when i run this in IE7 its openings a new blank window after the statement doc.open(); and shows some error(which has no useful details) and not maing any calls to server.
How would i go abouts putting a javascript code into a hidden iframe and then have it update new messages to another frame if there is a new message?
By message i mean it checks the database for a new message ( this is for a chat ) Its the javascript im not sure how to set up... If someone could point me in the right direction thatd be great.
function displayExternal() { var lyr = document.getElementById? document.getElementById('display'): document.all? document.all['display']: null; if ( window.frames['buffer'] && lyr && typeof lyr.innerHTML != "undefined" ) { lyr.innerHTML = window.frames['buffer'].document.body.innerHTML; } }
It works ok and brings up the linked pages but the images on the pages will not show. The pages are in sub folders along with all the images that pertain to it. Im just confused here, Why does the script load the pages but will not the display any of the corresponding images?
i am creating a Greasemonkey script that adds an ajax chat to a website. Greasemonkey is an addon for firefox that lets you modify the html code of websites before they are showed to the user.
I am in the process of creating a wizz feature that will allow you to send a message to a member and where ever he is on the web his gona receive it. The way it works right now is there's a hidden iframe in every page load and when the player has a message it popups a small window
It's working great but the popup is always instantly blocked because firefox has a popup bloker integrated and because it can popup on random websites they don't allow it and there for never gets the message ...
Everything else i tryed was blocked by the fact that it opens in the iframe that is invisible.
I even tryed doing it the old fashon way with an alert() but same thing you don't see it because it's in the hidden frame.
And i tryed adding top.alert() but i get a javascript the "Access Denied" message. The "Access Denied" error in any browser usually means that a script in one window or frame is trying to access another window or frame whose document's domain is different from the document containing the script.
I know DHTML AJAX popup would be the only way to give the user the message with out being blocked ... but how can i make it popup out of the iframe into the main frame with out being blocked in anyway ..
I'm trying to solve problem I'm having with my iframe and forms. I have a form that is brought into a hidden iframe. Now I can't seem to get the form to submit? I am guessing this is the case because of how the content in the iframe is brought into the main page. I'm not very good with scripts. Here is my page: [URL]. The form is on the reservations page. This is the form that won't work.
Here is my code: This is in the stylesheet: #buffer { position:absolute; visibility:hidden; left:0; top:0 } div#display { margin:0 0 0 0; /*margin: 2em 0;*/ /*border-top: dashed 2px #999; border-bottom: dashed 2px #999;*/ padding-bottom:6px; display:none; /* until loaded */ }
This is in the main page (which calls the iframe) <div id="display"></div> <!-- onload attribute does not validate but is included here rather than assigned via JavaScript to maximize cross browser support --> <iframe id="buffer" name="buffer" src="home.html" onload="dw_displayExternal()"></iframe>
I have a hidden iFrame (display:none) which I change the src attribute of to load new contents. When the iFrame has finished loading I make it visible again (display:inline). This works fine except for anchors. The iFrame will not jump to an anchor when finished loading if its hidden in FF.
I have a page that opens up an iframe for the user to be able to select photos. Each photo has a checkbox, and on select I add a hidden form element to the parent frame form. This all seems to work fine, but im now stuck on how to remove the form element when the checkbox is un-checked.
I was wanting the a to allow the user to click on it and none the display replacing the timer with a text, but i still want the timer functioning, then when they click it changes back to display the timer again. They way I have it now seems to be bringing up a new instance of the timer starting from 0 instead of changing the text, please advise me of the correct means to accomplish this feat Code:
So I just finished developing a big app in FF, Chrome adn Safari where everything works great. I switched to IE expecting maybe a few bugs, but almost NONE of my jQuery works. Just to test I put together a simple page to test basic jQuery and it still doesn't work:
[Code]...
I just have a hidden div on my page and want to show it and it doesn't work.
I have a page with a div that is hidden until clicked on, and can be hidden if clicked on again (at least that is the goal).
The html looks like:
HTML Code:
I currently have the following javascript:
Code:
My goal being to click on the main <div> and show the content in the <span> and change the image, and then clicking again returns it to it's original (hidden) state. I have been able to successfully show the <div> but can't get it to hide again. And when troubleshooting it using Firebug it shows that clicking on the <div> is simply removing the class that hides it, leaving no class, and definately not replacing it like I am trying to do. Any ideas why the second click is not producing ANY results? Also, if I get it working I have thought that by making the entire <div> have the onClick handler if someone tries to click inside the unhidden <span> (for links or to click in a search box) would result in hiding the <span> rather than following the link or focusing on the input box. Is there any possibility for that?
The main reason handled the <div> is because there will be multiple sections that I would like to reuse the function on, and creating an id for the <div> and then referencing this.id was the first way I was able to get the functionality that I currently have.
I have the official qQuery autocomplete plugin ( from bassistance) working properly. Start typing a product name and it queries my php script and mysql to return a list of products.
However, when the user submits the form, I want a hidden form field that contains the row ID for that product in the database table. I would have thought that this is a very common need, but I did not see any of the examples in the doc or website.
It works when its on its own page but when I place the code in a hidden div that becomes visible on click, it doesnt work.What do I do to get the cycle plugin working when 1 of the hidden div is visible?
first it gets string of the url in the address bar
then it splits the string at the ? and grabs the right half
it then makes an IFrame go to that string(which is yet another url I would manually insert)
here is the code:
function redirect(){ var raw=window.document.location.href; if(content_address_start=raw.indexOf("?")!=-1){
[Code]....
'content' is the id of the IFrame, and frame.html is the html file this code is inside.
Ok, so everything works perfectly when I test this code offline, but as soon as I load it to my website, and the .src line occurs, it just loads a blank page in the IFrame. What could be causing this? Perhaps certain sites will not allow themselves to be inside iframes? Much thanks in advance. I hope I gave enough information and relayed my problem clearly.
EDIT: It seems that the code works on other sites, just not youtube. Why would it do this and are there any ways around it?
I am using the jquery splitter from [URL]My right pane is fully occupied by an iframe. The splitter doesn't work when I try to drag it over the iframe (drag to right) i.e. the iframe does not resize when the splitter is dragged over it, but the same iframe resizes when the splitter is dragged over the left pane (drag to left). The iframe is contained in a div tag as shown in the html below.
In Opera, the dynamic resize of the iframe isn't working correctly. As you can see in the code, I have set a minimum height of 200px so the iFrame should always be a minimum height but if the content requires it will increase. It works fine in IE8, Safari, FF, Chrome but not in Opera. In Opera it just sets the height at 200px.
I am working on this page - [URL]. When you click the Filter By buttons it alters the content of the iframe below it. This works fine in ALL browsers. However, when you click the browser "back" button it should return to the previous clicked Filter By button (and therefore the previous clicked iframe content). This works fine in every browser except Safari. In Safari it just returns to the previous full page (for instance, if I was viewing google before I went to my page and clicked the iframe buttons, it returns to google rather than the previous iframes).
When i try to dynamically change the height of an iframe in ie through a java-script to match its content (a html page containing a flash movie, it doesn't resize the iframe at first, but when i reload the same page into the iFrame it resizes as planned, how come?This script works well in firefox, safari and netscape, but i cant get it to work in ie(8, 7). And i get the same problems with every resizing script i've tried. This is the script i use:
<script type="text/javascript"> function adjustIFrameSize(iframe) { [code].....
I have a flash menu in the first iframe, the buttons on the menu uses getURL(siteToLoad, "contents") to load another html-page into the iframe "contents". Is it possible to make the iFrame refresh automatically though javascript so that i just refreshes the iframe once? Everytime ive tried that it just ends up in a never ending refresh-loop... How can i make this work? Is there any better script for resizing (and refreshing after resize) the iframe height so that it matches to its content?
I'm displaying 2 iframes on a page with content from other pages on the same domain. I'm using jQuery to apply a stylesheet to the 2 iframes by appending it to the head.
I've got a problem. I've built a navigation page to be used in an iframe across a site. I've made menus like this in PHP and using arrays but I cannot use PHP here so I thought I could reproduce it in JQuery.
I am able to addClass "on" to selected menu items using the following:
I finally got the below script working in Firefox and was really pumped about it until I realized it didn't load in Google chrome or Safari. What this script does is its a dual onclick event which makes a hidden div appear and loads an iframe within the now visible div. Here is the code, how to make this work in other browsers.
Here is the header code: <SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> <!-- var state = 'none'; function showhide(layer_ref) { if (state == 'block') { state = 'none'; } else { state = 'block'; } if (document.all) { //IS IE 4 or 5 (or 6 beta) eval( "document.all." + layer_ref + ".style.display = state"); } .....
Here is the code on the page where a link click shows the hidden div and loads the iframe contained. <p><a href="#" onclick="showhide('div1');return loadIframe('ifrm1', '[URL]'); ">show/hide me</a></p></td></tr> <div id="div1" style="display: none; position: fixed; z-index:4; width: 1010px; height: 500px; left: 5%; top: 15%; background-color: #f0f0f0; border: 1px solid #000; padding: 10px;"><iframe name="ifrm1" id="ifrm1" width="100%" height="90%" scrolling="yes" frameborder="0"> Sorry, your browser doesnt support iframes. </iframe><p><a href="#" onclick="showhide('div1')">close</a></div>';
I've built in an iFrame that pulls in various other pages of variable height. Can you make this iFrame render its size based on it's src content ? I've been trying to use the scrollHeight of the frame but it isn't working. My current code:
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function resizeIframe (frame) {[code]....
Basically my code always renders the scrollHeight at 150 but the test.html I'm pulling into the frame I've made a height of 500px ?
I am trying to get a simple set of Javascript tabs to work properly. I have just two tabs and I want to set up the script to have the second tab automatically hidden prior to reading the javascript code because right now it shows the contents of both tabs when the page is loading and then the second tab disappears after all the script has loaded.
I have the jquery script linked to on the page and here is the way my script looks to run the tabs:
Code:
I want to add something like style="visibility:hidden;" to the DIV that isn't shown on page load and have it added and removed as necessary when users click on the tabs. So basically I would like the generated code to look like this:
