I'm trying to have a user input a number in a prompt box which gets totaled and displayed in an alert box.This is what I have and its not working out for me.
<html>
<body>
<script>
[code]....
I have two prompt dialogue boxes that ask the user the enter their name and their employee number.I am experiencing two errors. The first is, if a user enters their name incorrectly, using numbers for example, there is an error message that asks the user to re-enter their name using a string. If the user ignores the error message and enters a number a second time, the program accepts the entry, which it shouldn't.
The second error has to do with the employee number prompt. The prompt asks the user to enter an employee number that is equal to 6 digits, the program however accepts any number, less than or greater than 6 digits, which it shouldn't.I don't want the user to get away with entering anything incorrectly.
<script type="text/javascript">
// prompt the employer the enter the employee name and number
var employName = prompt ("Please enter the employees' name" , " ");[code].....
I have four html form check boxes.The user is allow to choose one or three of the check boxes, the last check box has a value of None.
Example: What's your favorite color.1. Red 2.Blue 3. Green 4. Gray. 5. None.The user can select more then one color.So I'm wondering how can I make the other check boxes deselect when the user click None.So if the user select None, then the other boxes cannot be checked. know you can do this with radio buttons but I would like the user to select more then one option.
I am working on a UI that, when you click on a menu option, a div opens and show three divs inside. These divs all have different
heights. The heights are based on the divs content.The problem I'm having is... how do I measure what the divs height should be? IE, how do I grab the height for a div BEFORE it has had any style applied to it.
Trying to get the height of an element whose height is specified in the CSS.
So I am trying to animate the height of an item, where I have:
<img id="myButton" src="myimage.jpg" />
<div id="myDiv" style="height:50px;overflow:hidden">
asdklf
[Code]....
However, it only registers as 50, even if the element is 500
I am in need of a JS script that matches the "li" height with the un-defined height of a absolute positioned block? Sort of like a matching columns script - is this possible? It's for IE6! Oh ya, and it's dynamic un-defined height. I only want it to match the height on hover. Here is a little test page I put together.[code]
View 12 Replies View Relatedhow to adjust the iframe height by itself if my html height increases. My html code includes a facebook comment at the bottom of my page and the comment will show making it expand the height once users post comments. On the other hand, I'm using a CMS that have its own iframe. I've tried many solutions that can be found on the web but none works. It only can work if I don't put in CMS. Is it possible to adjust the iframe height using CMS or there is no way?

I have this code, and I was wondering if it is possible to make the select boxes appear AFTER you select the field before.
I am trying to make a prompt that will ask the user for some input...
If I just use var input = prompt("dafa") everything works fine but the
box is put in the top left corner of the window. I need it to be
centered so... I was doing some research on the net (never really used
much JavaScript before) and was reading the only way to do this is by
making your own custom prompt. In my attempts of doing so I came up
with this code below. The problem I am having now is that when
onMaxLoad_Click() occurs the prompt appears for a split second and then
it goes back to being hidden. Code:
for some reason, when I do this...
var email= prompt("Enter the email address you want to send the test
to:","");
it's opening the prompt window in the top left of the screen. How can I
put it in the center?
I have a form that the user can edit data in. However, there are a couple
of links on the page. The user can edit the data and click on a link, not
submitting the form.
Is there some code out there that will check to see if they changed the
form, and prompt them to submit it if they try to exit the page any other
way?
Perfect example:
here's what we have in an html file.
<form .....
<input type=button name="comment" onclick=" prompt('enter comment','
' )" >
Is there anyway to get the value returned from the prompt in the statement
above, into the value of the statement below ?
<input type=hidden name="comment_text" value = ???? >
We would like the user to click the "comment" button, have another window
popup where they enter their comment, and then take the comment text and
append it to the value parameter of the hidden statement.
I'm working on an html form that will be launched from within another application, but every time it launches the form none of the JS coding works because of the stupid IE security. If I launch the form from outside the application I just have to select "allow blocked content" from that stupid information bar that says "to help protect your security IE has restricted the webpage from running scripts...."
I added the application site to our trusted sites and basically turned off security for that zone but it still doesn't work. Obviously there is a way to run JS without allowing the content, but I don't do enough coding to know how that is done.I need the JS to run automatically without that information bar appearing at all.
How do i use html forms in the same way as prompts? I want to do something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var cpu= prompt("What brand of CPU would you like?");
var ram= prompt("What brand of RAM would you like?");
var hdd= prompt("What brand of Hard Drive would you like?");
[Code]...
is there a way to have this field with focus (and cursor), when window opens?
