I'm using VS2008Pro with Master pages. On a child page, I have a modalPopupExtender that calls a panel with an embedded Google video. Everything works great - the popup appears with the video, background greyed. But, when I close the panel, the audio keeps playing in IE 7 & 8. Netscape is fine.I went and tried what Google recommended, but it still continues.
I'm trying to figure out how [url].... has created the audio player at the top of their pages, that continues to play a song even when the user changes pages. It appears they have done this without the use of flash.
I am currently writing a CMS and I need a few minor variable values from the YouTube Api. I wish to embed a YouTube video into a page and then extract key information about that video such as:
1. The Title 2. The duration 3. The number of hits
How can I play midi and/or audio files using JavaScript? I'm hoping there are some calls/APIs I can use that I am unaware of. My JavaScript book from O'Reilly seems rather lacking in this area.
I've got this JavaScript code that I'm using to play audio on my site made specifically for iPhones, iPods, and whatnot. However, my only problem is, that I can only pick one audio file to play from, no matter what. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I really need this specific code cause it allows me to play audio without going into the Media Player on the iPhone and iPod.
Here's what I have in the head section:
And the body:
And now to actually play the audio:
I can play audio fine, but I'm only limited to one audio file per page. Is there anyway around this??
I basically want this timer to count down from 6min 10sec and at certain times (i.e. every minute that it counts down) play an audio file.I got the timer working fine, but getting it to play the audio files (wav files) at specific times is not working...this is the javascript for the timer which works
code: var sec = 10; // set the seconds var min = 06; // set the minutes[code].....
I am not sure whether this requires flash or not, therefore I'd like to ask if it is technically possible to create your own audio/video player with JavaScript/jQuery? If not, could I create something similar just not with full functionality? Like stop, next, previous, etc. buttons?
I managed to construct a script to play random sound files to make listening tests for students. The audio files were actually taken from video files and I would now like students to be able to see the video too. I have the code below which works fine for my (and the students') needs, except that only the audio is played and not the video (and the mov files definitely do contain video). Can anyone suggest how I might change the code so that the video is shown too, either on the same page, or in a pop-up window? I would have thought it would be a matter of changing the window.doSound lines, but if so I can't figure out how.
I worked on this website :[URL]and cannot find out why it does not work in IE while it works in other browsers. The small video does not play while the sound does. As far as I can see it works fine in FF and Chrome.
what i am trying to do is really simple; however, i am still new at code, and i have google -earched endlessly and have not found the answer to this one.All i want to do is embed a flash file into my web page. The user would click on a button and the animation plays once, and stops. In my mind it should just be a javascript function that allows the embeded flash file to play when the link is clicked!
My computer seems to have problems with its javascript when opening new windows from certain sites that are either audio or video files. I simply have not got a clue where to begin.
I'm not using any framework so I'm not looking for any jquery shorthand. I just need to change the youtube video with a click.
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function changeVideo(vidSrc){ var link = vidSrc.href + "?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"; var movie = document.getElementById('embeddedMovie'); movie.setAttribute("src", link); alert('SRC: ' + document.getElementById('embeddedMovie').src); return false; }
The alert shows that the source is changing however the page just goes blank and the src is not updated in the markup. I also tried updating the parameter along with the movie but still no luck. Does the same on all browsers. If I use the same technique for images it works so I don't believe it to be any DOM loading issue.
Is there an extension or plugin that could take a url to some media -- video, audio, image -- and just load it / display it on the page? I came across jQuery Media [URL]... and it looks like a good start at what I'd need. Although it just focuses on video and audio, not general images.
I have an <img> Tab to play a video(of type .wmv). The image tag is as follows: <img border="0" dynsrc="Test1.wmv" start="fileopen" loop="1" width=1081 height=838>
Everything works fine, but now I need to play a video list (up to 5 videos). As soon as one video stops another video should start playing (at the same position automatically, without any user input) and as soon as the last video is stopped, it should start the first video again. So it will be like a loop.
I would need your helpful with a code for playing a music or video after 5 seconds launched page. I need a code to say under <body> </body> like autoplay.
01) I would like to rollover (onmouseover?) a button that is a video and have the video (button) play. (A 5 sec video that stops at end)
02) On rolloff (onmouseoff?) the same button I would like it to rewind to the beginning for next rollover.
03) I would like to add more of these "Video Button Rollovers" to the same website page in the future. I would like to use DreamWeaver CS4, and stay away from flash for more accessibility and less memory intensive overhead. (obviously no control-bar for video)
I have all the parts to this to try a variety of solutions. The video is a box with untied string on a white background. When played a person fades-on and ties the string into a bow. (white background matches website background)
Parts:
01) video from untied box to tied box with person .mov 02) image of first frame of video .jpg 03) video from untied box to tied box with person to person fade-off and untied box .mov 04) video of tied box with person to person fade-off and untied box.mov
was wondering if I could get some direction on something that I have been wondering about for a while. There have several flash video players that I have seen that only start to load/play the video when the object is visible on the screen.
For instance, if I click a link to an html page with an auto playing flv on it, and then minimize the window. The video will only start to play/load once I maximize the window again. The other instance I have seen it is with the position of the page. So if an flv is placed onto a long html page, all the way at the bottom, it will only begin to load/play once I have scrolled to make it visible.
I have done some searching but have not been able to determine what this would even be refered to as. Is it controlled by Javascript or Actionscript, or is this just a the way flash player functions?
I'm faced with a problem from my employer on making a flash video play when an image is rolled over. In a sense, with many images on the page (which represent a video), the user can preview a small sample of that clip when rolled over by the mouse. I know that when the image is rolled over I must somehow bring the player infront of the image using z-index, but can't seem to work out the details oh how to get it to play.
Does anyone have any examples I can draw from in order to help me complete this task?
I've got this code that needs to load a .wmv file - the client is adamant about using .wmv files and not Flash files - and the client insists that it use variables for the width and height parameters.I've now got the code working correctly in IE (it's always worked in Firefox) but I've just noticed that it's not working in Safari. I'm sure it's got something to do with the <object> but am not sure how to fix it.I've tried including the safari object code for wmv files and then using an if/else statement to only load the object code for safari but my javascript skills aren't that great. As it stands right now, both Firefox and IE try to load the quicktime object after they load the wmv movie object.
Here is what I am trying to do with no luck: I am sending an HTML marketing e-mail with a call to action to watch a video on my website. Since html e-mail code has to be pretty generic and simple I want to have the link inside the email be something like [URL].. Once the anchor is received on the web page the video automatically pops up and plays.
I see when I post a link to Facebook for a youtube video that it shows a thumbnail. When i click the thumbnail it plays the video right there on my facebook page.
I am wondering how do they do that trick?
So, let me take a guess.
Facebook is probably using some RSS feed aggregator to pull the info from YouTube.
They probably are also using maybe jQuery + CSS to hide the video at first. When you click the thumbnail it shows the video and then the video begins playing.
So, two questions: if that is how they do it then How do they make the hidden video not play when the page loads? how do they get it to start playing automatically once the video is revealed?
