The idea is that when user focuses on an input element in the form the div at the most bottom of the form will explain what user is suppose to type into the field. So far nothing works. I don't receive any error but the code isn't working for some reason.
I am trying to "ajaxify" my site. Now I have one problem:
$("#posts").children().remove(); $("#tag-sidebar").children().remove(); $.each(data.Tags_Sidebar, function (indexInArray, valueOfElement) { var insert = $("<li>");
[Code]......
Now when I click one of those links (href1, href2, href3) generated, the click event won't execute! What's the problem? Also, is it right that I have to transfer the valueOfElement over, like I did? What does stopEventPropagation do? Prevent the href from being navigated to? That's what I am trying to do.
I have an iframe in my main html and within iframe, I'm loading another HTML webpage. In my main html page, I've captured the mouse click event, by setting the "onclick" for <bodyof main page.
I have a TD element, with a SPAN element inside. I use td-s onmouseover and onmouseout events for a small animation. My problem is, that, when I move the cursor over the SPAN element, the onmouseout event for TD element is fired. I want to prevent this. With other words, I want onmouseout fired, just when the cursor is moved outside the td area. See the code..
Can I have two events in the same form? I'm trying to validate some fields (one event) and get the value of this list box (another one). I tried to put both in the form1_check, but it didn't work (because are different events? Maybe.). My code:
Im trying to submit a form , which holds another form tags inside (i must do it this way) the problem is that this doesn't work on IE, while it works perfect on Firefox
the button seems to have no effect on the page... its like it is not connected to the form....
this is how the page looks like ( i minimized it to show here...)
I did tryed to change the button to input type=submit... but it doesn't work also....
I am trying to achieve something that I have seen on many forms throughout the web; I am currently learning JavaScript so please bare with my beginner status. So I have a form and on every input button, I want the value to disappear when clicking on it; and if no text is entered, the original value is returned..
So far I have this inside every input button and i'm beginning to struggle with 'the next step': onfocus="if(this.value=='Email')this.value=''"
Is there a simpler way to achieve this with multiple buttons rather than copying this into every button?
how do I hook a button click event so that my handler fires first but does not affect the firing of other clickhandlers for the same button?
What I want to do is hook all the form submit button click events. When a submit button is clicked, my handler will stuff some hidden fields into the form the button is contained within. Then the handler returns and the built in form submit button handler posts the form back to the server.
I'd like some direction on creating a small piece of Javascript that will populate my <select> boxes. Basically, I have a form for users to create events, with a start time and an end time. (These are the two select boxes). For example:
What I am trying to do is: 1) Have times populated in 15 minute incrementals from 12:00AM to 11:45PM 2) Have some type of "error checking" available to where the End Time must be after the start time. It would be nice for the script to automatically change the end time field to a time that is after the start time.
I'm trying to figure out how to integrate jQuery Validation plugin with the qTip plugin [0] to show custom error message displays. I've had partial success with the following code:
At this point, that successfully displays the validation failure message in a qTip tooltip when it occurs, but there are two problems with it:
1) The error tooltip toggles between visible and invisible onmouseover and onmouseout. I'm sure this isn't really an issue with the Validation plugin, but rather something I need to figure out with the tooltip plugin. But, my bigger problem is...
2) Even when the invalid condition is fixed (valid data is later entered into the field), the error tooltip remains attached to the field that was previously invalid, even after the field is valid, and continues to toggle between visible and invisible onmouseover and onmouseout. I'm fairly certain that this is because I've not yet destroyed the tooltip object, but, I can't seem to figure out a way to intercept the "valid" or "success" event with a reference to the element so that I *can* destroy the attached tooltip object.any experience with combining qTip with Validation, or, if I'm missing something in the docs (I've not been able to find anything like this yet) about how to handle/override event handlers for individual form element invalidation/success. I *did* try attaching a function to the "success" attribute of the validate function, but that seems to only give me a reference to the success label, and not the element that its attached to.
Does anyone have experience using the form plugin 'jquery.form' insideWordpress and if so does this plugin have any special requirements?
Scenario I'm attempting to use jquery.form to handle a form that appears in a dialog. The arrangement works on static pages on the server, outside of WP but in the same domain.However, when the form is presented in the dialog on a WP page the submit function fails, usually resulting inthe dialog closing having not submittedthe form.
One question thatoccurred to me is how do jquery plugins respond if used withWordpress with regard to the use of "$"? Perhaps its not an issue but I wondered if it might be the cause of the problem here.
The triggering script is just the standard script with a few options added, again this works on static pages:
I work at a call center, and we use different webapps to fill out tickets. One I've used for a long time allows dynamically updating forms with javascript. I have a whole bunch of bookmarked javascript injections like: javascript:if((top.detail.findObj('X31').value="Inquiry")!=""); That code will fill out most everything in that ticket, leaving me to fill in the details. I have one of those for all of the most common tickets, and can create and finish a ticket in less than 30 seconds when it takes others 3-4 minutes.
I recently switched to a different system and I'm having trouble with my code. The system we use doesn't allow me to see the source... I'm not sure how to explain it. It loads everything in a frame. In chrome I can right click then inspect element and get the ID but it the above javascript doesn't work. Examples: Old app source ex: <label for="X31">Category:</label> was all I needed new app(before the body code is just code for the login form, etc): <body onLoad="startit()" onUnload="stopit()"> </body> <div align="center" valign="center" id="LoadMessageID" style="position: relative; top:40%; color:#0069A5; font-size:100% ;"> <img src="/arsys/shared/images/Progress_NonModal-circle.gif" alt="wait image"/> Loading... </div> </html> formloader:<form name="form1" action="/arsys/forms/bmcitsm/HPD:Incident+Management+Console/Default+User+View+(Support)/?cacheid=a22a36a8" method="post"> example of inspect element in chrome (something I want to change with javascript injection):<input id="arid301602600" type="text" class="text " style="top:0; left:0; width:225; height:21;" readonly="">
When you click the "GMAIL" logo, it takes you to another page which has the contact form. Instead of taking the user to another page, how do I incorporate the contact form into LightBox2, so that it swiftly pops out?
I want to add an icon inside a form and be able to click it and run javascript code once clicked.Basically,i know how to add the icon on the form but i don't know how to make it clickable with OnClick.the input code for the text field is [code]But i don't know as i said where i should place OnClick command in order to make only the icon clickable.
The function that is called will add some labels, input boxes, and the things needed for a table. By itself it works just fine, as soon as I wrap it inside of a form tag, the button stops working. I'm using Firefox and Firebug 1.5.4 to assist in debugging and I can set break points in the javascript code. When there is no form tag the function is called, it hits the break point and I can step through the code, but when I add the form tags I get nothing. Farther down the page I have a submit button that works when I have the form tags.
<input name="submit" type="submit" value="Add" />
I have also tested this in IE8 and I get the same result.
The button is part of a page that get dynamically added inside a div with AJAX.
I'm looking for some help with something I have been developing over the last day or so. Basically, I have a form with some input boxes in it, and I am trying to use some javascript to do a calculation with these input boxes. The problem is that when I go to click on the "calculate" button nothing happens. The fields where the value should go to I have made visible instead of hidden to make sure that something is going there but nothing is appearing.
I've checked various parts of my syntax with online checkers and other javascript examples and I'm stuck as to what has gone wrong. If anyone can shed some light on the problem and possible solutions that would be awesome.
[Code]...
Edit: I have edited the code to remove/change the things that "Philip M" kindly pointed out were not needed and a bit of re-designing the page. I still can't get the javascript to put the answer value in the correct place on the click of the button. I'm under the impression it has something to do with the button rather than the javascript code but I might be wrong.
I have a series of images with an animation bound to mouseover and mouseleave events, and I'm trying to get my head around adding a click event that would prevent the mouseleave animation from occurring only for the image that was clicked, preserving everything else as is (until another image is clicked). I've discovered .stop() and I think I'm getting close, but some part of the logic is still escaping me.
I have a form on a page that has several textareas, and textboxes inside a table (so the table containing the textboxes is also inside the FORM tag).
I want to replace the textareas with simple text instead. But I want to keep the format of my page EXACTLY the same. However, the problem is that ...
1) Javascript won't let me create say a one-cell TABLE containing some text (e.g. textarea's value) and then insertBefore an element in the form. This is so because the a TABLE element is not compatible to be a FORM's child.
2) I surely can insert a text node or a table using appendChild or insertBefore on document.body. However, like I said I must maintain the formatting of my page, so I again can not do this. Reason being that the document.body won't have access to anything that's inside the FORM tag and can only insert before or after the FORM tag.
e.g.
<BODY> <P id="para1">foo</P> <FORM id=form1"> <!-- anything in here is Form's property NOT body's --> <input type="text" name="name" id="txtbox1"> </FORM> </BODY>
So the following code is invalid:
var tNode = document.createTextNode ("hello"); document.body.insertBefore (tNode, document.forms[0].getElementsByTagName ("txtbox1"));
because I can't insert a textnode before a form element using a body method.
And following code is valid but not what I want according to my second point above:
var tNode = document.createTextNode ("hello"); document.body.appendChild (tNode);
How can I insert a text node or table containing text inside FORM tags?
