I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.
I am making a form in which i am using two radio button.Now i want that if i click on first radio button and after that i will click on submit button then page should go different page .If i click on 2nd radio button and after that i submit page then page should go on different page.
I want to make a form run a php file, but only when I select an item from the listbox. I can't seem to find the info online but I thought u guys might know, below is what I have that doesn't do anything on selecting an item from the listbox Code:<select name="prodcategory" onchange="javascript: form.action='reportmanual_getcategoryproducts.php';">
I am trying to get a css-styled button to stay on its 'roll-over' state once it has been selected by its corresponding radio button (connected via the label tag). So far, I have no idea what I'm doing.
I load a page with two default images and two radio buttons not selected. When either of the radio buttons gets checked I need to swap corresponding image. I tried this but it does not seem to work:
I have a form with a list of subjects (radio buttons) that I get from my database with PHP, and I want to show a list of videos (also from my video table using PHP), based on which subject they choose.
I have tried multiple POST, GET methods with JavaScript examples, but cannot get it to work. I am not having any issues with the PHP getting either list, it is just getting the radio buttons to pass either the POST or GET data to JavaScript, and have it take that value so I can get the list from my database with PHP. I tried to use a div for the list of videos, and didn't have much success.
I want that a <div> element will show when yes is selected and when no it should be hidden. For show and hind i will use the functions from the jQuery UI. But I don't find a way to call the hide / show function when the selection change.
The radio selection: <input type="radio" name="lang_anz" value="1"> Yes<br> <input type="radio" name="lang_anz" value="0" checked="checked"> No<br> When I understand the documentation I can request the current value from the radio with: <script type="javascript"> $('input:radio[name=lang_anz]:checked').val(); </script>But how i can now call the show / hide function when I change the selection?
I am very inexperienced with javasciprt. I am designing a form in coldfusion, and want some dynamic action to take place. My users will be offered 2 selections via radio buttons. Depending on which radio button they select, they will get a few more radio buttons to choose from. I have been told that this can be handled in javascript. So I am appealing to the javascript programmer nation for some assistance in this endeavor.
I'm trying to write a progressively enhanced web application. I have an index page and a form with some select boxes and some radio buttons on a different php page. Before enhancement occurs, the form is accessible via regular links and everything works as expected. No issues.
In the enhanced version of the application, the form is AJAXed into the index page. When this occurs, the select boxes in the form work perfectly. The radio buttons are initially unchecked and I can check one option as usual. However, once one is checked, clicking the other radio options does nothing. I am unable to check a different option.
Anybody got a clue what the problem is?
Using Chrome by the way. Firefox is the same as Chrome. In IE I can't even check a radio button the first time.
Here's the code that's ajaxed in:
<label>First Time Buyer Status <!--These values can't be 1/0 because 0 stands for not set--> <input type="radio" name="FTB" id="FTBYes" value="1" <?php $M->checkFTBValue(1); ?> title=""/>First Time Buyer
[Code].....
The PHP script you see there checks if the value on the server matches the value of the radio button and echo's checked="checked" if true. I thought this could be causing the problem initially but the exact same code is used in the non-enhanced version and it works fine. I tried commenting it out anyway but it makes no difference.
The only thing I can think of is that some javascript is preventing me from selecting a different radio option. That would explain why it works ok in the non-enhanced version because there is no JS there. I can't find anything that I've written that might cause this effect I'm using jQuerys form plugin on my pages. I'm going to try writing it out and see if that fixes anything.
In the mean time, is there a way I can check if any JS functions when I click on the radio button?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, there's so many different languages involved, I hadn't a clue where to put it.
how can I change my action form so the form goes to Page1.htm with click on button1 and goes to Page2.htm to click on button2, and mantein the value inserted in textbox "name"?
I am trying to produce a web form to allow wedding guests to RSVP. The form allows them to enter a name and select from a radio button whether they will be attending or not. If they select the "yes" radio button then a further pair of radio buttons are displayed for their meal preference.
They can then click a submit button or they can click another button to add another line for another guest which operates in exactly the same way. I've almost got this working, but it seems that the checkbox change handler is lost for the current guest when a new guest is added and the checkbox value is reset. I've got a feeling I'm doing something stupid but can't for the life of me figure out what.
Code (source file (renamed to .txt) also attached as I'm not sure the pasted code is too clear):
I have a page where you select a radio button and submit to get certain results. When pressing the back button to get back to the original search page, however, the radio button is still selected, but the page lists it's value as undefined. I wish to do one of the following:
1) assign the radio button's value to what it is actually showing
2) clear out all selections
Here is some relevant code:
Code: function PageLoad() { document.all.item("radioSearch").value = 0; alert(document.all.item("radioSearch").value)
Why is the input type = radio on this page is not getting the value assigned to it after the user clicks on the related selection? Here is the page under development: dreamdates.com - TOTALLY FREE online dating service - You can see this by selecting a choice for "I am a: " Radio button selection. I have set up Javascript code, alert, which will tell you that that selection is "Undefined" even though you have selected male or female.
I have come across a very interesting problem that seems to be impossible to solve. Basically a web application that I am working on relies on a JavaScript function called go to change the input named view to the page name and submit the form. This form's type is post, so no values are included in the actual URL string. There is also another input called action and it's value is view. This is to tell the application that the user would like to view a page. The problem is because of the variables being of method post, page refreshes and back and forwards return errors because the post variables view and action aren't sent with the required data. To somewhat solve this problem I have created a feature that tells the application that if the post value page is empty then to try and get a GET var called page. To insert this var into the go javascript function I simple add this code
This line basically adds &page=[page] to the action of the form. The problem is, this code doesn't work because action is also the name of a form element. Referencing document.go.action refers to the input element named action and not to the form's action. Changing the named of the action input value is out of the question (Way to much changing of code, and possible room for error). What can I do to change the action of the form without referencing the input named action. Here is my go form and the JavaScript code:
I use php and javascript on a form. My validate script doesn't work with radio button. What's wrong? I want to be sure that one of the button is press. M or F
I have a group 2 Radio buttons, if the user selects the 2nd Radio button then they need to enter some data into a text field... The following only works for either Radio buttons... How can I specify it to be only the 2nd Radio button?
if(!document.form.radio1.checked && document.form.q3.value=="") { theMessage = theMessage + " --> You selected no we need a reason)"; }
I try to calculate all the number based on selected radio button and display it in the textfield on the same page can someone can tell me the errors and suggest how to make my calculation is right.
i've seen a few forms about (across the years) in which when you select a radio button the form submits, however now that i'm actually looking to do something similar i can't find either a tutorial or a code snippet, can someone point me in the right direction please as i fear the issue is with my search terms.
I'm using it for form validation. The way I have it set up works great to validate the text areas of the form, but I also have a field of radio buttons that I need the user to select at least one radio button. Here's how I have the validation code set up: Code:
I am sure this is simple, but I am simple when it comes to Javascript - meaning pretty much new. I have a place on my site that has a drop down box, with multiple options listed in them. I want the user to be able to select an option in the dropdown box and then hit the submit button. They would then get taken to the page that is mapped to the user selected value in the field.
