Fancybox Zoom Feature And How To Display Html In Source Code?
Sep 13, 2010
I'm not exactly sure as to whether this question should be posted here or on the php forum, but I think it mainly has to do with fancybox's zoom feature. My problem is this.
I'm doing SEO for an already established site and this site has a features area with about three different options that use the fancybox zoom script. These boxes all contain pertinent information (SEO heavy) about each option as well as links to different sites. All of the info displayed is pulled from a database via php.
I would like to be able to display the descriptions as searchable content, and be able to track how many people click on the external links, but as it is now none of this shows up on the source code. The fancybox zoom feature seems to open up another window within my main page.
My question is this. Is there anyway that I can retain fancybox and get the content to come up under the source code? Or does this maybe even sound like an unusual effect from fancybox.
I can send some code later, if anyone needs it. I just didn't want to throw everything in here all at once, because it's quite a bit of code involved.
I have a CSS driven zoom feature which shrinks a large image down to a specified size and when hovered over, the image enlarges to its full size. I need to be able to either make it stay opened (enlarged) when clicked, unless it is clicked to close OR to have the hovered (enlarged) image on a time delay to stay open for a specified amount of time.
I have already tried 2 scripts that I've found, but they are very over-complicated for what I need.
I thought, I'd only need to put something in the <a> tag or <img> tag, but I'm so new to Javascript and it is wearing me so out that I'm exhausted.
I did, however, get the effect that I wanted when I applied a:Active, instead of a:Hover) - It's just that can't get the image to close upon a second click.
My guess is that I need a js with an if open then onclick close it - but I'm not sure how to construct it or exactly where it wiill go.
Here is the CSS that operates the zoom (external CSS):
I've a problem: I need to retrieve (in javascript) the soure HTML code from a url without loading the page then put the HTML source code in a string variable to manipulate it. From this variable I need to get all the links to perform some operations.
View source code of external files in html like *.js and *.css For example: In this page I am Posting to, there are 24 *.js files. They are loaded but you can't see them. I would like to view some of these external javascript files for study. Not necessarily on this site, but where ever I find them.
Why isn't this code working? I can add items but only remove the ones originally added in the source code, not the ones dynamically added. <form><div class="list"> <div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href=""class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><div class="item"> <input type="text" value="" /> <a href="" class="removeitem">Remove this item</a> </div><a href="" class="additem">Add item to list</a> </div></form> <script type="text/javascript"> // Add item to list $('.additem').click(function(){ var template = $($(this).prev().get(0)).clone(); template.insertBefore($(this)); return false; }); // Remove item from list $('.removeitem').click(function(){ $(this).prev().parent().remove(); return false; }); </script>
I'm new to js/jquery and this forum so please forgive my potentially off-scope js/jquery remarks. I've been running a lot of toggles to show, hide, etc... divs and other HTML elements. It's making my application incredibly nice navigation wise.
Now to put myself in my users shoes. Say one user toggles on and off the things they want and don't want until they are satisfied with all the content of the screen. (That is by the way the nature of my application. A user loads in various variables via PHP and other means and when satisfied, a PDF is generated for them containing all their preferred content.)
Because: When a user is at a point where all the content they are viewing is worthy of a PDF, it is also worth saving that HTML 'view' (classes switched, variable adjusted, etc...). I would call it 'Save this workspace' or something along those lines.
I don't have a direct question per se but am more interested in the views of others who have similar thoughts and moreover, what relationship has jQuery had in helping employing some method?
I got some code that loads divs from other web pages into a particular div in my main page. In other words, I click on a button, and this tells jquery to load afragment of a particular page into my main page. For instance if I have 5 web pages onrock stars, I could have 5 buttons, and each button could load one rockstar's biography into a div on the main page (and replace whatever was there before). This works, and I do see the content that it loaded. But when I do 'view source' in IE, I do not see that content (the bio of the rock star). Another clue that this content is not really there, is when I try and run some code on that content. The content (from those external pages) have divs with specific names, and I try and make them into collapsible panels by running the following short function:
However, I am currently working on a banner that rotates through images via javascript that I want to have in the background under css and still be able to display a logo from within the HTML code. As shown above, that is easy with a picture, but how do you call the javascript and then its ID from within the HTML?
I've been working on a freelance design site, and I have been using jshowoff and fancybox on my portfolio page. The portfolio has multiple sections that are set to be scrolled through using jshowoff by using the slide links. This use of jshowoff is working perfectly fine, but fancybox isn't. fancybox is supposed to be set to launch a modal when any of the portfolio thumbnail images are clicked. As it is right now, fancybox links will not work within the jshowoff slide div, but they do work outside of the jshowoff slide div.
I have done about 5 hours of searching online for possible fixed to my issue, and I haven't found anything. I am attempting to fix the conflict the between jshowoff and fancybox. I am very new to using jQuery plugins, so hopefully, you can all bear with me.If anyone may know how I can fix my fancybox links, so that fancybox will work within my jshowoff slide, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have provided the html below:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I have this piece of javascript code, which enables me to get my Picasa photos without link back feature, in my webpage. The issue is with the hardcoded RSS url feed. I want this to be dynamically passed as a variable to the java script.I use a PHP code, where this javascript is coded.
In the below code, if I say var samples = <?php $url_code ?>, the javascript does not recognize.
On google maps I have several hundred markers for different countries and cities across the globe. It is just not practical to navigate through several hundred markers therefore I would like my browser to auto navigate to predefined multiple latitudes and longtitudes or cities, once the navigation for predefined cities completes, the navigation loop carries on. Also for certain cities or latitude / longitude can we set zoom level so when the browser is auto navigating it zooms in and zooms out for predefined cities. Is this possible, here is the code that I am using.
I can see several hundred markers on the map, rather than navigating between each marker I would like my browser to auto navigate through predefined cities with auto zoom in and zoom out values.
I was not happy with the zoom scripts that I found on the net, so I wrote one myself, or one that simulates it. It has become an extremely simple one, and can be seen in action here (function toggleZoom). Click the images to zoom in and click to zoom out again. However, only the images with an initial width of >= 100 pixels will zoom out again. The ones width an initial width of < 100 (nrs. 4, 5 and 7) won't. Why is that, and how do I solve it?
How to implementing a "google custom search" feature in a jquery code. I am hoping someone could help me out, as the code is pretty short.
I've been trying for a while but it doesn't work.
The HTML of the page is -
The Jquery script of the website is (this is where I need to implement my custom search code somehow) -
The small arrow that marks the active search icon:
This is my Google custom search code, which I need to implement in the above.
I only need the custom search, I don't really care about the "internal search" or the general (where google searches anywhere) google search. I really need this.
I'm trying to code a feature for my website using DHTML where the person viewing the website can rotate between viewing the positive/negative points of the website being reviewed. This example was in the publication called Using HTML 4 by Lee Anne Phillips. Code:
I know that when you "display: none" with CSS it will not show the div content in the browser, but will still show the div and content in page source. Is there a way (via javascript or anything else) to also remove the content from page source at the same time?
Is there a function in javascript to get the source code of a page and contain it in a variable, or automatically obtain information from it in some way?For example, if I needed to get the title of a certain page, would I be able to somehow implement document.title to get the title of a webpage?
I made a table that retrieves some Data from the Database also I did some calculations for this data using Javascript and It works fine , but I can't see the calculated values in the source code. That's the Problem , cause I can't print it or export it without these values and the source code doesnt show it. So , what can I do , to view the generated values from JS in the source code? I'm using IE 6 only as a web browser and the Javascript Calculations are functions and Classes in a seperated file and I linked it to the Report page ...
I have a e-mail on my myspace account and I didn't write it. How can I find out the IP addresse from where it originated? I have looked at it and looked at it but I can't find anything except my myspace account addresse on it. I want to know basically where to look to find out the computer or IP addresse that it originated from.
I would you grab the source code from an IFRAME and display it in a textarea?
I'm trying to create a sort of preview page that both shows a rendered page, then shows the source code next to it.
[edit]: I'm thinking that using OnLoad JS event in the HTML body tag would allow this to work. The page loads, the OnLoad event calls a JS function that pulls the innerHTML from the IFRAME and inserts it into the textarea.
