View 1 RepliesI am creating a website for a friend where the user cant can choose what jobs they want to do while a event. There a are more than 300 people involved so I found a script that worked fine but it used some checkboxes, and I want to use drop down menu (one drop down menu for every day of the event). With the checkboxes it worked fine but when I modify the part to insert the dropdown menu and that on my webpage I choose a job and then I send it and it tells me that I haven't selected anything.

I've got 2 scripts from scriptiny.com which BOTH appear to have problems. When I use:

I have been working on a simple gallery/slide show. It can be viewed here: [URL]. However, I have been tried unsuccessfully to get the drop down menu and automatic sideshow to work. I would like to get the drop down button to work where when you select the for example "beach" ...the beach picture appears at as the big picture at the top. Right now, no matter what is selected it goes back to the first picture.

i downloaded Anylink drop down menu from dynamicdrive.com. i am able to get it to work with text links, but they dont show you how to set it up for image links. here is the page im talking about.

I'm in the process of building this Ballroom Dancing website that has a simple dropdown menu. The menu works if I immediately call jQuery right above the javascript for the menu, ie:

The problem is that I don't want to do this because I already have WordPress calling jQuery several lines above for some other plugins. The users will be helpdesk staff who will need to change the statuses of the various systems. Maybe I am approaching this in the wrong way but I thought I could use a drop down menu to enable the helpdesk to select the system status which would be either: Green, Amber or Red. I have managed to hack the following code by using something I found on the web. It almost does what I want but on selecting the colour from the drop down menu it tries to load another page. Is there any way I can stop it from doing this? The webpage should be static and I am aware that reloading it would lose any selections that the user has made.[code]

That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using a system called CMS Made Simple which has a quotes feature. This will generate a quote randomly from a MySQL database. To refer to this quote feature you have to use the {quote} tag which has a few parameters.
The parameter I am interested in is {quote group=""} because I want my users to be able to see a random quote from a group that they select through a dropdown list.

Which functions just fine. However the problem with this code is that I plan to have 65 different groups for the user to select from. When I have tried to do this the webpage has become very slow. I presume this is from loading 65 random quotes from a MySQL database in case the user selects the div - a very slow method which needs to be put on the backburner!
Essentially I would like only the first Div to load with the webpage and the others to load when they are selected in the dropdown list.
I realise other threads exist which are similar to this but they do not pass parameters in the same way and I also saw someone say to start your own thread rather than hijacking someone elses!
I'm still trying to figure our why my drop down menu won't respond to the event handlers I have set up; I want the drop down menu to appear as if being pulled down; this works great. But once viewer mouses off the drop menu I want it to disappear and right now it won't.

To C I would like to attach a string of 3 value (prices). I was thinking of using the array
