Document Body X / Y Position - Style Document.body Not To Start At 0,0

Aug 19, 2010

It's possible to style document.body not to start at 0,0 for example: body {width: 1000px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;} This means that X/Y of the body is not 0,0 but how can I find out what the position is using javascript? document.body.offsetLeft; is 0 and offsetParent is null yet if I position something absolutely at 0,0 it goes to 0,0 of the window, not the body!

Document.body.style.fontsize Is Not Working

May 29, 2007

Through an onClick() event, I have an inline function to change the
font size of the page (actually, I need to do this for the entire
website). I have this defined in the header.cfm file as:

onclick="document.body.style.fontSize=཮%'"

This does not work at all for some reason. Whereas,

onclick="document.body.style.backgroundColor='green'"

works. I am not able to understand why this is happening.

Change Font Family In Document.write

Dec 20, 2011

When I send a form from html to a function in javascript via a button I want to write the values of the html form on the screen. I do so by using the document.write() in javascript. This removes the page with the html form (input boxes etc) and then the only thing displayed is the stuff written by javascript. And the font family I had in the html part is now gone! Only problem is that I want to change the font family (like Times New Roman, Arial Black etc). I have very many document.write()'s, so would be swell if there were something that made me change the entire script's font family!

Dynamically Change The Font Family Of The Loaded Html Page Of The Main Page?

Nov 4, 2010

On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:

function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....

the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.

Change Background Color And Font Color?

Feb 11, 2009

I have a form which contains FOUR text fields (e.g. TEXTFIELD1, TEXTFIELD2, TEXTFIELD3 & TEXTFIELD4). Each text field holds a HEX,DEC color value. ABOVE this form I have a table with TWO ROWS (ROW1 and ROW2). ROW1 should correspond with TEXTFIELD1, so that when the VALUE in TEXTFEILD1 is changed the background color of ROW1 will change to match the HEX,DEC VALUE entered in TEXTFIELD1. The same would happen with TEXTFIELD2 and ROW2. TEXTFIELD3 should be used to change the color of the TEXT inside ROW1 and TEXTFIELD4 should change the color of the TEXT in ROW2. I also wanted to know if it would be possible to achieve this without clicking any button.

------------------------------------------------------------------
| ROW1 | TEXT IN ROW 1
------------------------------------------------------------------
| ROW2 | TEXT IN ROW 2

Changing Font-size Property In Body Definition?

Mar 27, 2010

I've got a website with font sizes using 'em's. I've made it so that in my 'body' CSS styling, I can change the font size and it changes it right throughout the whole site.

I have hyperlinks to increase and decrease the font size but have no idea how to get the links to change the 'font-size' property in my 'body' definition. As a secondary requirement (but not essential) I also need to remember this value and store in a cookie so the user doesn't need to keep resizing the page on every reload.

InnerHTML And Style Attributes

Nov 23, 2005

I have an application where a user can create a newsletter with a
contenteditable div box and submit it to a database. The problem occurs
when the user tries to edit their newsletter. The edit page looks
exactly like the create page only their already created newsletter is
supposed to appear in the contenteditable div box. To do this I
retrieve the information from the database in the server side. Then I
have the following client side script.

window.onload=doInit
function doInit() {
var content = "<%=sContent%>";
div.innerHTML = content;
}

This seems to work in all cases except if the HTML to be displayed
contains any style attributes. For example, if any of the text has
background color then the HTML code will have the tag <font
style="bacground-color: #000000"> and this will cause nothing to appear
in the div box. Has anyone run into this problem or know how to fix it?

Working With Element.style Attributes

Nov 1, 2005

I'm developing a web-template editor for a client, and they want it to update the changes in real-time using javascript. So, in other words, when a person selects a different background image, I use:

document.body.style.backgroundImage="url("+bgimg+")";
Well, I've run into a little problem. I can't seem to find any manual on what comes after style.*

So far, I've seen style.color, style.backgroundImage, style.backgroundRepeat, style.backgroundColor. But, I'm looking for something that can control text-decoration, font-weight and a:hover

Does anyone no where I can find a list of all properties support after style.*?

these work fine... cell.align = "center"; cell.height = 22;

Code:
