My program builds several tables using inner HTML. All the tables are displayed only when the program terminates. How can I make it display one table at a time and then wait for a click before displaying the next table?
am just trying to learn javascript and my friend gave me a little assignment to try and figure out. i am having trouble figuring it outbasically i just want to display the information in my associative array, into an html table.
var NFC_east = new Array(); NFC_east[0]=["Giants", 16, 0, "Eli Manning"]; NFC_east[1]=["Cowboys", 0, 16, "Tony Romo"];
Wasn't sure if I should post this in the CSS or Javascript section so I just went with Javascript as it's what the code is in. Made a small Javascript game, when the player looses it will populate a table which is set to display: none; with the scores and then using the code below show the table...
document.getElementById('scoresTable').style.display = 'table'; This works fine for me in Opera, Google Chrome and Safari .. but not Firefox or IE.
How can the user obtain a specific result by choosing values from 2 dropdown list. As a result, the value obtained can not be modified by the user. The table of ten rows by ten columns have to be stored in a mysql dbase.. It's certanly possible , but tedious and time-consuming by using a bunch of "if ... then statements". Considered from a table point of view, the final result is the coordinate of a row value and a column value.
When you click the text "info" in the column "comments", a row should be displayed below with text information that is related to the "comments". Need also to click the text "Info" again to hide the text information of comments. Problem: I don't know how to display the row when you click one of the comments with the text "info". When clicking one of the link the remaining rows with the text "info" should not be affected. In order words, the part should be independent Need also some help hiding the text information of comments.
There are some things that you also need to take account to: - The amount of data that will be displayed in the table will be changed from day to day. The data is taken from a xml file.- Would like the sourcode to be written in jQuery.- Only html, css and javascript is allowed in this context.- html code in tr and td will be generated by javscript code.The class "firstDataRow" is the added in the tr row that has the text information of commentsPlease remember that the text hide and show is only for temporary.
I want to do is let the user input a file,then read the contents send it to the server, loop over the inputs to query MySQL, return the results and display it in a user friendly,scrollable table?
I am taking a javascript class and I need a script that displays the first 1000 prime numbers in a table with 10 numbers per row. I've been trying on my own for about 4 hours now and am really confused. I just started the class and have only started learning javascript 3 days ago.
I have a code that will fetch out the data from database OnMouseOver. But it is working fine if don't add table on the div which will come OnMouseOver. If i try to show the fetched data in table then the code doesn't work. Here is my code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"> var cX = 0; var cY = 0; var rX = 0; var rY = 0; function UpdateCursorPosition(e){ cX = e.pageX; cY = e.pageY;} function UpdateCursorPositionDocAll(e){ cX = event.clientX; cY = event.clientY;} if(document.all) { document.onmousemove = UpdateCursorPositionDocAll; } else { document.onmousemove = UpdateCursorPosition; } [Code]....
I'm having problems displaying images on a site. Basically I have a to change an image each time a button is pressed on a piece of hardware. This is the code to detect a button press
So when the button is pressed/unpressed it should display tstileo and tstilec What format should my HTML code be to display the image ? This is whats there at the moment
<span id="btn0">?</span></p>
When running all I get is text saying [OBJECT HTMLImageElement] This site is being hosted on a microchip, btn0 is a press button switch on the board. The idea is to use this as a remote monitoring system. It runs Javascript XML HTML and CSS. I have spent hours searching for a way to do this ( simple ? ) task but haven't got any further than this. :confused:
I'm writing a webpage that uses JS to copy the tag elements STYLE and a table into a new window that is not displaying content from using .cloneNode(). I've used alerts to verify that the command is getting all the HTML but in the new window, the table is not being displayed but the last bit is. Since I'm using only one strings to handle the entire HTML of the new page, I'm missing why only part of the string is sent to the new window. It's a real pain to debug since because the new window is generated entirely with JS, there is no source for me to see exactly what is happening.
Here's the code for what I'm talking about: PHP Code: printPIM = function() { w = window.open("about:blank", "printWP", "scrollbars=no,directories=no,resize=no,width=1020,height=700,toolbar=no,menubar=yes,copyhistory=no"); w.focus(); // Makes sure the new page isn't hidden style = pimStyle.cloneNode(true); p = pimTable.cloneNode(true); wt = "<html><head><title>" + PIMName + '</title><style type="text/css" media="print, screen">' + style.innerHTML + '</style></head><body>'; wt += "<table id='pimTable'>" + p.innerHTML + "</table>"; // Adds the PIM table wt += '<div style="text-align: center;"><h1>Total Distance: ' + parseFloat(TotalDistance).toFixed(precision) + 'nm</h1></div>'; wt += '</body></html>'; wt.replace("<tbody></tbody>",""); // Remove extra tbody element w.document.writeln(wt); return false; } The only thing displayed is the contents of the DIV element.

Hi I'm new to the development world and have bumped into a tough problem for myself. I'm attempting to display external RSS feeds on my site using AJAX. The 'title' and 'link' tags from the XML file appear on my page without any problem. However, unlike the 'title' and 'link' tags, some of the 'description' tags contain HTML.
This seems to be an issue when I'm trying to display the content within the description tags. As you can see, I embarrassingly tried enclosing the variable newtext2 in CDATA tags to no avail. Since I do not directly have access to this RSS file (other than asking my friend if I can edit it), is there a way for me to display the HTML content within the 'description' tags strictly via JavaScript?
Code: function getXMLHTTPRequest() { try { req = new XMLHttpRequest(); /* e.g. Firefox */ } catch(e) {
I have a dynamic HTML table which gets populated by coldfusion and displayed in the page, I have a column called performace which holds numeric values. I need to select the top 3 best performace value in the column and then highlight the entire row in different colours (top 3 values for performance). Can any one help me in doing it?My server can run only Javascript and coldfusion, No Ajax/PHP.I need a complete set of code which such that I will add the script and it performs the calculating and highlighting part.
Basically what I need to do is cause a bit of HTML to only display on a specific page. I have figured out how to do most of the work i.e. figuring out what page that the code is being displayed on, etc. However, for some reason the DOM element that I am using will not update based on the Javascript.
Here is the version of the code that I am currently working on: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload = function DisplayButton() { var DesiredPage = 'Page to Display'; //Page that I want the code to display on var sPath = window.location.pathname; var sPage = sPath.substring(sPath.lastIndexOf('/') + 1); //This determines and places in a variable what page that the code will be on if (sPage == DesiredPage) { document.getElementById('HiddenCode').style.display = "block"; }} </script> <p Id="HiddenCode" style="display:none">Code only to be displayed on indicated page</p> </head> </html>
I need a way to read the iframe url even when you navigate to a different page it will read again and keep tracking where the URL is on. Display the URL of the iFRame all the time how would I do this is it possible?
I would like to be able to display either one or the other HTML table in the same place. I.e., there are 2 buttons on the screen. When the user clicks one button, the table A is displayed below. When the user clicks the other button, the table A disappears and the table B appears in the same place.
When I use the classic div tags followed by table code, they are displayed sequentially on the page, rather than in the same place.
The <a> is a list of menu items that when clicked.... a specific gallery-slider-images should been shown in relation to the galleryId....<div class"gallery" is hidden in CSS> I'd like to use jQuery to complete this task if at all possible, i can't seem to .show() the selected 'gallery' w/o showing them all...........
I have a site that is built with a frameset. What I would like to do is whenever I update a particular frame that contains the main content (ie. a news.html page), have it change a graphic in the navigation bar (ie. a separate .html document) to a glowing animated gif for 7 days. Since the news page doesn't load as the first page within the frameset, it would show that there was something new posted there.
I have a few JavaScript books around, and I -think- I know roughly what needs to be done, but I'm having trouble conjugating scripts.
I think it could be done by checking the date.lastModified against the current date, and if the abs difference was less than 7 days it would display news-anim.gif, else it would display news.gif - however I am not sure how to get the left navframe.html to read the date modified of news.html
Can anyone suggest any solutions (or know of any scripts out there?) or is this more of an issue that should be dealt with using cookies/something else?
I have written some JavaScript that I can use to remove a table row from a table. If I have the table:
[Code]...
I also have JavaScript that will add a row to the same table. I've found that if I add a bunch of rows, when I delete one, there is a small amount of whitespace added between the permanent row and the others. It seems like while the row is removed, some remnants of it remain. Is there a way to get rid of it completely?
On the time sheet page i have created a years worth of entries in the database for a user so that they may create entries ahead of time(for holidays etc.).
My problem is that when i load the page, i display the current month for that user and it displays:
Date Month Day TimeInMorning TimeIn Evening etc..
What i would like is that a user may update any field and click on a save button which will update the field(s) that they have changed. I ahve attempted in javascript to do this but i am failing.
The basic concept is a music playlist that I'm trying to write as a table inside a div.
I have Song and Playlist 'classes'. The Song class has a Write() method, as does the Playlist.
The Song.Write() boils down to this: var tr = document.createElement("TR"); var td = document.createElement("TD"); tr.id = this.ID; tr.appendChild(td); td.innerText = this.Artist + ' - ' + this.Title; td.onclick = function() {top.playSong(this.parentElement.id);} return tr;
The Playlist.Write() call is essentially this: // this.songs is an Array of Song objects for (var x = 0; x < this.songs.length; x++) { playlistTable.appendChild(this.songs[x].Write()); }
When I attempt to call playlistTable.appendChild() after creating the table via document.createElement("Table"), everything works fine, except I have no way to add the table to my document, since the div I want it in won't believe that appendChild() is a valid method. If I put the table in the div as a <TABLE>, and then try to append to that, the *table* doesn't accept appendChild() as valid. Specifically, I get an 'Invalid argument' error when calling either.
New to this, worked through the w3c tutorials and am really fascinated by some of the concepts. I'm only familiar with html, css, js (basics), so am trying to keep things as simple as I can for this.
For simplicity I'll use books.xml with a listing of books. Each book has a <title><author><year><price> and <image> element. The images are stored in a folder called "images" a path is listed in the xml document.
Using js and an array I can loop through the xml file and have it extract each node into a table, if I mouseOver a ROW in the table, it displays that listing in a DIV above and I would like it to display the image/thumbnail for that particular listing within another div called thumbnail which is in the same location regardless of which listing you mouseOver.
if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); }
[Code]....
So the way this looks is there's a grey div. At the top it says listing, and when the body loads it lists the [0] first entry from the array. To the right of this is a small div called thumbnail that is empty and I would like it to load the relevant image from the path in the <image> tag in the xml file.
Below the listing is a table with 4 columns (title, genre, price, image) and an equal number of rows to the number of listings in the xml file. Under the "image" column it just shows the path to the image.
So how do I tie the empty thumbnail div to the listing so it'll just add the path from the xml <image> tag into a <img src="pathnamefromxmldocument">
I''m using some javascripts for tab content and I would like to copy content from one tab to another tab. I found DOM could achieve this, but I can't get it working in my code:
